She rather curtly told us that the coffee machine was broken and that the cook was running late, so there would be a bit of a wait. Rather than matching her energy, I recognized that she was in distress and treated her with patience and compassion. She recovered quickly and began offering excellent service. I ordered the Classic Canadian Brunch and felt disappointed with the sausage and pancakes. The eggs were cooked properly and the bacon was good. My boyfriend went with the Angus Benny, upgraded with the croissant bun. He described it as "not bad and not great." He said the eggs were cooked properly and the hollandaise was "good," but that the beef was "a step above good deli meat" and the bun was "too thin." He liked the potatoes. We came in for a late dinner and were able to benefit from their late night menu where you can get a burger for 50% off with the purchase of a drink. This is a great deal! I loved the ambience and décor. They have a really good coffee and drinks menu. I chose a warm maple latte and it didn't disappoint. I also tried the sweet bannock with Saskatoon buttercream and a beef patty bannock sandwich. I liked the fresh bannocks and everything tasted great and the service was warm too.
