The issue I have is that they refuse to authorize my pharmacy to a refill of a prescription for a low dose statin that their Dr. prescribed (for a one year term refilled every 90 days) without seeing me and getting new labs - In other words, they want me to pay for an appointment and new labs that my insurance will only cover once per year....because their employee left. But they have the labs, which is what providers use to determine whether the prescription is warranted. Statins are literally the most prescribed medication in the US and they have all the evidence to validate a simple refill but are trying to force me to pay a significant out of pocket expense to get it.

The office is so kind, loving, and supportive in my pursuit of caring for my children. I've called the nurse line multiple times over the years and always received a compassionate nurse to ease my concerns. I've had wonderful NP's fill in for Dr. Foland for routine needs, but always happy to see Dr. Foland. The office is clean and always well-staffed and organized.

God forbid your child's health require weekend attention or inquiries, you'll need to agree to a $25 fee to place a call to the doctor. On another occasion, I called over the weekend to cancel my child's appointment for Monday as she fell ill over the weekend. They charged the $25 fee. This is ridiculous. I think this office forgets about their obligation to health first. I'm from California. I have received care from Cedars Sinai and doctors in Beverly Hills . This is added fee for a phone call is distasteful and comes off as arrogant. Another mother had warned me that they felt this practice thought too highly of themselves and forgot about the nobility of their profession: to care for children. I get it high volume but that's absolutely no excuse to not make any contact with me for 10 minutes. I've tried calling their other offices and I get a run around. I have better patient care at the sacred pediatric ER. The point of a doctors office is to be available for sick kids. Well I have a sick kid and their never available when I need them.
