The bathrooms were always very clean, showers at a good temperature, and always stocked. The grounds are clean and the local is not crazy busy with tourists. We scoured the interwebs for an available site that didn't cost more than a hotel and came up empty. That's what you get for procrastinating on your vacation planning, I guess. As a hail Mary, we called Monument Point and got very lucky. Deb still had two sites available. This may be because the only way to book is by phone, and the only way to pay is by cash or check. If you're willing to work with that, this place is great. I mailed Deb a deposit, and prepared for an awesome weekend. We ended up getting up to the camp much later than expected the first night because of holiday traffic and a snafu with the directions. When we called to tell Deb we wouldn't be able to make the check-in time and would have to check in the following day, she kindly offered to wait for us. FYI, if you use Google Maps to get to the camp it may send you to the wrong address. The campground seems to be mostly used by people with campers who rent a site for the whole season. The other campers were friendly and many seemed to know each other. The campground is pet friendly, and a lot of people had their dogs. The sites are reasonably spread out. You'll be able to see your neighbors in the day time, but you won't feel like you're on top of one another. Our site had an electric hook up even though we were just tent camping, which helped to keep our phones charged. There are clean bathrooms with hot showers by the camp office. There is also a general store. As with most of the local camps, you can't bring wood from outside, but their wood is $8 for a generous amount. Everything was really well taken care of, and the management is kind and helpful, if resistant to technology. I'd definitely stay here if we camp in Door County again.

I'm adding an update since it's been 4 years since my last review of this park, but please also see…read moremy 2 earlier reviews. They have completely rebuilt the fire tower adding an accessible ramp. While we are able to climb stairs, we enjoyed the ramp a great deal. I'm not a huge fan of open stairs and found this wide ramp that is intended for both wheelchair users and walkers to be a very pleasant way to reach the viewing platform and return to ground level. The view from the top is amazing on a clear day. We also walked part of the sunset bike trail as an out and back which was lovely. We started at the beach, headed toward the lighthouse and continued on to the bluffs/cliffs before turning around. It was about 6 miles round trip and had lots of wildflowers and beaches along the way. This is a great trail for anyone who doesn't want to navigate a lot of tree roots or rocks. Other updates: The lighthouse is being refurbished and is scheduled to reopen later in June 2026. There are now food trucks near the beach if you don't feel like bringing a picnic lunch!

To access the park, you have to pay a vehicle admission pass at the visitor center. Daily pass for out-of-state plates is $16. The rates are different for Wisconsin plates and senior citizens. 12-month pass is available as well. The small gift shop in the visitor center has magnets, stickers, paper weights, shirts, etc. There are also comfort rooms inside. It was raining when we visited. The rain stopped for a bit and we were able to see Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. We weren't able to go in the lighthouse because it was still early and not yet open. It was okay from the outside. We also went to see the Eagle Tower. Since it was raining and dark clouds were all over, we did not see the nice view that this spot is known for.

*This review is for a room in the clubhouse during off-season*…read more Decided to book a last minute getaway to catch the last of peak-fall foliage in Door County. The weekend I went also happened to be the Fall 50 marathon so places were booked up. Alpine was offering their off-season rates for their club house rooms (on the golf course, pretty remote but a close walk into town). I paid $175/night (normally $300+) for a king room overlooking the course. There is a 3 night minimum but I got the sense that if they aren't too busy, they're flexible on that. The pictures online don't do it justice, it's quaint and comfortable. On the weekends they put out fresh cookies and extra coffee. It was perfect for what I needed: some relaxation in between hikes and strolls through various Door County harbor towns. It's about a 20-30 min walk into the Main Street of Egg Harbor. While I was there, the restaurant in the club house was not open but it will be open Nov. 1 through the winter, which will be a nice option if it's super cold and you want to grab a quick dinner without going far. I had a great time!

Hotel rooms were hard to come…read moreby in Door County, and the Alpine had just renovated their "Club House" to have guest rooms upstairs. We were lucky to snag one (thanks boyfriend!). We had a nice room overlooking the golf course. This is a separate building from the resort main hotel & cabins, and is newly & stylishly furnished. Free coffee and refrigerator and rooms. Good location & access to rest of town. Five stars for great service, specifically Davante. They offer a free black car shuttle for guests, up to 5 miles from the resort. Davante, the shuttle driver, did a superb job. He was helpful, with good tips about the area. He communicated well about timing for pick-up and drop off. The shuttle is especially nice when you want to go to dinner and enjoy a few cocktails without worrying about driving home to the hotel. They should give Davante a raise, considering the number of negative other reviews on the resort. We had an opposite experience! Extra bonus points for having fire pits and a bar downstairs in the Clubhouse. This is a shared amenity with the golf club, but enjoyable nevertheless. We were even provided a s'mores kit upon request, and spent a bit of a lovely evening by the fire pits. Make sure to ask for the Clubhouse when booking!

We rented a 2-storey townhouse unit through our owners membership in Club Wyndham Destinations. It's a beautiful unit with a dedicated garage, two full bathrooms with jetted spa tubs and large shower stalls. The fireplace is real and there are wood logs provided. The master bedroom is massive, the kitchen fully stocked (as with all Wyndhams), but for us the best feature is the enclosed, heated patio with a comfy 4-chairs/table set. It leads to an outdoor deck with a Weber grill. The Recreation Center has a good sized heated pool indoors and outdoor hot tub. You can rent cross country ski equipment or ice skates for outdoor Winter activities. The townhouses are truly young-family-friendly as evidenced by the high chair and booster seat in the front closet. Little Sweden is in Fish Creek, WI, a very cute touristy town. We enjoyed shopping and even attending a local church service on Sunday. For the Summer, we look forward to boating and fishing. We hope to return in the Summer.

WiFi worked very well. TV was a bit tricky but the owner got us on the right track and it worked great. The owners are very nice, accommodation people. It is in a good location for Sturgeon Bay and Baileys Harbor and it did not take very long to go across to the Green Bay side of the peninsula via some charming country roads.

We arrived on Friday 9/12, and the check-in process went well, the room was nice, and everything seemed ok. We were told that the housekeeping service would come in daily and remake the beds, cleanup the room, remove and replace any used towels and empty the garbage and resupply any coffee and toiletries needed. This was true only the first day. The second day we were out for the day and came back late and noticed that nothing had been touched? We went to bed and figured they would come back the next day. Nope...nothing. We had to empty our trash and reuse the "towels, etc. I had to go to the office get my own coffee supplies, etc. The only response I got was "Sorry"...help yourself to what you need. No....what is your room number? so, we will make sure they service you tomorrow. Nope...didn't happen. The worst part was the extremely loud pipe banging noise that began off and on from 12:00 midnight to around 4 am the last night we were there. It was intermittent and lasted 30 minutes each time it happened. No sleep for us that night. We went to the office to report it and were told.....we have had that happen in the past...and the obligatory "Sorry".....Very dismissive and after I explained the lack of room service and the noise that kept us up the response was an amazing," Sorry but we hope you will come back" followed by a smile? Very disappointing.....customer service? I hope future potential visitors have a better experience than we did... not a good birthday weekend. . They seem to not to care about living up to what they promise they will do. We will definitely not be returning here!!!

Rating: 2.5 stars…read more My family came to stay here for 2 nights while we explored Door County. We went on Wednesday and left on a Friday. When we first arrived Wednesday afternoon, the lady at the front desk was kind of rude, standoffish and didn't really want to answer any of our questions. Walking through the hallway, everything looked very antiquated. When we got into our room I was disappointed to see that our over $350 a night room was pretty dilapidated, old and tiny. However, there was a small mini fridge and microwave available which was nice. There is free wifi available but can be fairly laggy. The resort itself is located right across the street from the water so you get a nice view of the water and you do get a small balcony to sit on with some patio furniture; however, there always seemed to be so many mosquitos there so I never did go outside. There is free breakfast available for guests. There were a few trays available for guests to bring their food up to their room. The selection was pretty simple but filling with some fruit, cereal and frozen jimmy jones breakfast sandwiches. There was a guy working in the breakfast room one morning that was kinda rude but apart from him and the lady at the front desk all of the other staff were quite friendly especially the housecleaning staff. All in all, a fairly average accommodation that wasn't too impressive; however, if you're not planning on staying in your room for too long while exploring Door County it may be adequate.
