And it still feels a…read morelittle trippy every time you board and then get off your flight and have to take the steps down to the tarmac, But, having used this airport to fly in and out of for a couple of months for work just made me appreciate how easy to get through this airport is. Sure there's not a lot of frills inside the terminals. But when you had to frequently fly for work you don't really care about that stuff. You really just care about the convenience and logistics. And for that, my experience recently has been fantastic with this airport.

I will say, I do love that you can get off the back of the airplane. It feels a little old-school and makes for some pretty cool photos. For a brief moment, you feel like a celebrity stepping off a private jet. Beyond that, the airport is very small, not particularly clean, and has limited food options. The outdoor baggage claim is inconvenient, and the walk to the rental car area feels much longer than it should. The moving walkways always seem to be out of service, and the elevator has been broken for so long that I'm starting to think it's a permanent exhibit. One thing I still can't get over is the carpet in the bathrooms near the rental car pickup area. Carpet... in an airport restroom. That's certainly a choice. The rental car experience has also been hit or miss, and the drivers in the parking lot sometimes seem to think they're auditioning for Fast & Furious. I've flown through Burbank several times, and while it gets the job done, it's never been my favorite airport experience. Convenient? Sure. Memorable? Also yes--but maybe not for the reasons they intended.

This is a wonderful little space to watch the planes & helicopters take off and land. They even include little holes in the fencing that allow you to stick your camera through if you're an avid plane photographer. You can tell they thought things through. There is a small play area for kids as well as a little info kiosk about the airport. I also like that they play the tower audio so you can feel like you are part of the action. My only real complaint is that I wish they had more covered seating. There are 2 small tables in one of the corner, but the other benches throughout the area aren't covered. And the area is all cement so if you are coming on a sunny day, especially during the summer, it is HOT in this area and bright. I highly recommend sunscreen if you are planning on spending a good amount of time here. I also want to say that parking is somewhat limited and very tight. If you have a long car, you might find it tough to get in and or out of some of the spots without potentially hitting cars parked behind or to the side of you. I know they are trying to get as many spots in as possible to accommodate visitors, but with the size of cars these days, it makes it tricky at times.

Extremely convenient, but it's certainly a luxury that shouldn't be taken for granted. The staff was all around TERRIFIC, sooo accommodating, and our private plane was extremely clean with fantastic food (snacks, meals, beverages, alcohol, etc.). The huge bathrooms on these planes are always well stocked with a variety of toiletries (tampons, wipes, Q tips, mouth wash, toothbrushes and pastes, sprays, etc.). I enjoy flying private when I have the opportunity, but wouldn't recommend it if you tend to develop motion sickness easily!
