Unfortunately, we had to get another claim set up after the first one, same year, was done sloppily at Gerber C & G from Portland on SE Grant St. When brought into McMinnville GCG, they discovered my daughters bumper was a mess underneath. There were bolts missing, parts of plastic ripped off, the bumper could not be tacked on due to stripped bolts. If the first Gerber in Portland had told us about the condition, and insurance would only pay some since it was an older car, we would have added our own money to do a decent job. Instead we had to pay $500 deductible 2X.

Carstar corporate was absolutely no help either and referred me back to McMinnville CarStar the same shop that totally devalued my truck. When I took it to Carstar Portland Carstar Portland said it was substandard quality work and could they redo a portion of it to make it look a lot better for around $3000. Improperly mounted truck bed hits on one side of tailgate now. Paint job is absolutely horrendous. Clear coat full of debris that was floating around the shop. Window dies not roll up or down properly. Their work devalued the truck considerably. To bad Brian sold the shop it was great before. They had already had the opportunity to make it right and words are cheap they told the insurance people that they would not do anything. The Portland CarStar said it was terrible work and $3000 would correct most of it. If CarStar McMinnville was legit they would have worked with Portland CarStar to correct their substandard terrible quality work.

It needed a new passenger door handle and my driver's window fixed (it wouldn't roll up without my pulling it up by hand). After two tries they got the door handle fixed but the window still wasn't operating correctly. To their credit, they did not charge me for the window that they couldn't fix. And when I went to pick up my car they looked at me and laughed and said,"Oh, that car!". I said, "Yeah, that car." I didn't appreciate the non-respect simply because the car was old. Anyway, two weeks ago, I go out to my car and saw that someone had crashed into my front driver's side fender popping my turn signal assembly out. I figured, what the hell, take it back to Carstar and see what they could do. Hah! That was wrong! When I took it in for an estimate, Jeff came out to the car and complained that he didn't have any time to fix my car! I said, "You don't have the time?" He said that last year it took him an hour and a half just to try to find the correct parts for my car and so he could not spare that time now. Instead, he told me to look on EBay for the part and install it myself!!! Again, non-respect! It took my less than five minutes to find it on Amazon and order it. He knew how and where to look yet could not "spare the time". Needless to say, I will not ever deal with those guys again.
