Played this course for the first time today. Course was in excellent condition especially for winter time golf.

In the pro shop, they tell you that the price is the same whether you walk or ride. Then, you show up to the first tee and the starter says there is a "no walking" policy. And he was fairly rude about it. As for the course, the fairways and greens are decent, but the tees and rough and dead. Bunkers look like they haven't been raked in days. Layout is good. Just ridiculous that they institute a "no walking" policy even though I have walked this course multiple times in the past. read more

Greens are in great shape but tee boxes are a little rough. The extras for the golfers are way more than you get for any other public course in DFW! Cold bottles of water ready in the cart, apples off the first tee and cold towels at the turn! You don't get much for $65 on a weekend anywhere, but you get your moneys worth here. read more

This place is great! First off, the course is just really neat. There are a number of holes that are really well set up for high risk reward off the tee box. Greens are big but make you target pins or positions. Just a really nice design. Marshalls are also present but unobtrusive. Finally on the course, I came in towards the end of a hard summer and this course still looked great. Consistent fairways, punishing but not unfair roughs, and super consistent greens. Other than a really awesome course, this place has some of the best amenities. Great secluded range, chipping green, putting green, smooth cart path, nice golf carts (accurate distance on screen, quick and smooth driving, and a gps system that won't shut you down for straying 6 inches from where it thinks you should go) But my favorite little touch was, at the turn, you can grab a free popsicle and a super nice iced towel that was soaked in cucumber water or something. It was such a thoughtful thing to offer to people playing in this Texas heat that it may have single handedly saved the moral of my group on the hot, humid day we were out there. I haven't seen that on any course before so I had to mention it. Big shout out to Nick in the pro shop for helping me find a spur of the moment tee time on a Saturday and being so kicked back and welcoming. And the starter, I think his name was Mark, for gabbing golf philosophy with me for a bit while I waited on the rest of the group to show up. Thanks yall. I'll be back. read more

Just came out from Vegas for a quick golf trip to play with family and this place has AWESOME customer service from checking in to Tony the GM walking around and greeting everyone to Ingrid behind the bar prepping lunch and making great drinks with a smile on her face. As far as the course, great tee boxes, fairways and the greens played like PGA with 12.5 stint. FAST FAST FAST and they do bite:) OVER ALL, don't hesitate and think twice of not playing here:) Can't wait to come back:) read more

This is the absolute worst course I've ever played in my life. I understand it's February in Texas and courses are not going to be in pristine condition. However, the fairways were basically dirt, the bunkers were complete dirt, zero sand. The place of play was atrocious, people are literally leaving their carts in the middle of the fairway while the walk up to the green to putt. The Marshall never made one round to keep track of the pace. Players are hitting 3-4 tee shots and spending 15-20 mins on each green. $60 for a round on this course is a joke, it should be under $25 with a cart included. Avoid this place at all costs. What was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon to celebrate my birthday with my friends turned into a complete and total disaster. They should literally turn this place into a mall or something. I had a 7:10 am tee time for 18 holes on Sunday 11/5/23. it was a group of 4 of us playing. the group in front of us were 2 holes in front of us and we were 2 holes ahead of the group behind us. the Marshall that was working that morning started harassing us after our 2nd hole. he kept saying we needed to play faster when there was no one behind us. so we continued playing, every hole since then he kept watching us and telling us stuff. we decided to play 9 holes and get a refund for the other 9 holes. when we explained what happened to the guy working the clubhouse he was coming up with excuses for the Marshall. he said he can only give us a rain check for the other 9 holes. it's been 3 days now and they haven't sent us an email with our rain check like he said he would. very disappointing. read more

This course used to be terrible but the new owners have improved it a lot. We played yesterday and it was in great shape, the greens & fairways were all outstanding, just like a very expensive resort course. Range balls included in the price was a nice feel good touch Cold towels for customers was surprisingly good also Free Apple's at the 1st Tee box was The marshal & staff were very friendly also. Very glad we played there and best wishes to the new owners & management team. We will be playing here more often. read more

I have played many a courses in the DFW area & this little gem has to be my favorite so far (first time playing there)!!! Would recommend this course to anyone at any level (greens are fast with much angulation). read more

Enjoyable course, greens in very good shape, bunkers have always been atrocious. Challenging course and constant plane noise can be tough but would recommend playing. My only complaint, and has been an issue for years is the pace of play. Hands down the slowest course ever. Marshal does nothing to keep the pace. I always get behind the group playing 3-4 balls each and refuse to let you play through. 4 to 5 hours is not uncommon to finish a round. read more

This place is an absolute JOKE. How can you not offer a walking rate?! Dude told me it was $50 to walk 18 holes. I said no, I want to walk not ride. He said it's the same price. I can understand if you don't allow walkers but that's not the case. Not to mention the course is in very poor shape. What you guys should be doing is discounting your rates until you can justify charging $50. What ever happened to customer service? Shame on you Whitestone Golf Club!!! read more

Early Sunday morning. Going on 2 hours sleep, at best. Nursing a hangover / still drunk from the Yelp event the night before. BUT - I am nothing if not dedicated, and when I promised a co-worker I would meet them for golf at 7:45 AM on Sunday, I am THERE. I live in Las Colinas, so this place was a hike for me. It took an hour to get to - no traffic. My co-worker told me it would be $45, but it was $55. He messed up the golfnow booking - or whatever - this is what you get when you let other people make the plans. He was also very late. But whatever. I am determined. I already drove here so I am gonna golf. I got paired up with these two guys, a little older than me, they were brothers. They were also hilarious. We had a blast playing. I have never been here before - I lost like 6 or 8 balls - that's pathetic. But some of these holes are downright devilish. There's a par 4 where you hit to the right of the green, because there is this massive area of trees between you and the green. Other holes where you'd think you'd hit a good shot - only to find it disappeared. Like the bermuda triangle. But it was in decent shape. Tees and greens were solid. The traps are enormous - I only landed in 2, which was good. My co-worker showed up on the 5th tee - a par three over water, which I sank. I had a good time. As each hole progressed, my stomach settled, I sweated out the gin from the night before, and was completely wired by the time I got home. Can't keep a good man down. I do recommend this place - for the price it's a nice quiet course. Oh - minus a star for GAS carts - ugh I hate those. And the utterly bleak landscape. Some places, it's like you're on another planet; flat barren landscape or a sea of roofs, not to mention, snakes and tons of enormous grasshoppers - seriously it's kinda gross. But very Texas! The golf course is in fair condition. The staff leaves something to be desired. the last few time I have been there the staff was not friendly at all. After paying and going to my cart, I had to return to the pro shop to get the key. No apology, just threw key on the counter. Then the guy ask how much the green fee was and i told m=him $42.00. He said they have a senior rate (I am 81 years old). I left without saying anything to management. My friend, however, went to the pro shop and asked why I was not given the senior rate nd was told I didn't ask for it. The guy at the counter said what is he supposed to do, ask everyone how old they are. I play at a lot of courses and never ask for the senior rate but get it anyway because they can see I am over 65. I will never play the course again and plan to post my experience on Face Book. read more

Facilities - 2 Stars Staff - 4 Stars Course Condition - 3 Stars Greens - 2 Stars White Stone has been around awhile and I've played there on several occasions. It's not hard to get to, I-20 west to 377 and then south a couple of miles. The clubhouse is a large trailer like structure. I had assumed it was just temporary, but I've never seen any indication that they were ever going to build a new one. So amenities are just basic. No clubroom and minimal dining. They have powerful gas carts which are necessary considering the extremely hilly cart paths. The hills give the course some nice changes of elevation, especially on the back side. The greens are decent for this time of year, but putt like a marble table top. Its hard to hold a line with the thin turf, and what you get is a lot of sliding. The pin locations are certainly challenging, with some side hill pin placements that makes putting sometimes similar to Putt Putt challenge. There are some nice houses backing up to the course on the back nine, and then there is some range land, full of mooing cattle. This area makes you feel like you're a million miles from civilization. The green fees are very reasonable, but they no longer have GPS available on the carts. Altogether, not my favorite course, and I never score well on it. But in fairness, I'm not a very good golfer. read more

Drink cart closed before 4. Snack bar closed by 6. No coolers left at my 4 pm check in. .. how could you not have at least 1 cooler per cart? Are you brand new in the business? Could have at least told me you were closing the snack bar at 6 so I could have gotten a couple more warm beers and water. Not happy but such is life. .. I'm out after 9 holes. This course is wonderful! If you ever wanna go golf and actually feel like you got your money's worth this place is for you! The Pro is young but he is great! Knows what he is talking about and genuinely cares about your golf game. The rest of the staff is friendly, too. The course itself is challenging but not to the point where you don't enjoy yourself. I liked this course a lot. I play pretty often, weather permitting and I would love to play here again. The driving range is in good shape and provides flags at good warmup distances. I played here during the week and had no problems with other groups. The tee boxes are in decent condition. The layout is pretty wide open for the most part, and even though there are trees lining the holes they never posed too much of a problem. Pretty much every hole is a straight shot. I think the only holes i remember not being able to see the flag from the tee box were one, ten and eighteen. The course is pretty hilly, I wouldn't walk it in any weather hotter than 70 degrees. I'm not sure if they even allow walkers. I really liked the condition of the greens on the day I was there. There weren't any weeds, and the speed was perfect. Not too fast, not too slow. There aren't too many breaks on them either. The clubhouse isn't the type you'd want to hang out in. Barely anything there and the food selection was pretty weak. The bunkers were inconsistent. Some were good, some weren't. I had a great time playing this course. If you find a good deal, you won't regret spending a few hours chasing a ball around White Stone. read more

If you're looking for a challenging course that doesn't get too crowded check this place out. Yes....it's a little bit of a drive from the metroplex but it will be worth it. The greens were in better condition than some I've seen closer to home and the holes were placed in tournament locations for that morning's scramble. As for the negatives....almost every bunker had standing water in it, the carts didn't have GPS and the rough would literally swallow your ball. Im not talking about the deep rough 20 yards off the green...I'm talking the rough surrounding the fringe. Green fees were right at $35 for a 12pm tee time. All in all, a great course to try once but I don't think Ill be making the drive back out anytime soon. read more

Played 4/9/17. This course is in terrible condition. It looks like they are out of money for maintenance. The club house and porch look like like a wreck, the dirt yard out front is your first indication that things are not good. Their traps are dirt (no sand whatever). This is spring and all the courses locally are really coming on in the last month. These greens are thin, spotty and a pale green that looks like they are starved for fertilizer. Fairways thin and weed filled. I was impressed with this track when I played it last summer, now it is just sad! read more

I used to go to this course before it switched management. When I tried playing there, the pro checking me in had a lax attitude, as if he forgot he was at work, and I barely saw the cart girl. It was a hot day and I would've killed for a coke. I tried having a snack there, but the food was cold. Did she just have it ready? Ugh. Never going back. read more

My first time out here and probably my last. Driving range is not much more than an open field. Looks like at one time there were target greens but Sunday, one flag on the whole range. Not helpful. The bunkers were a sand-less disasters. Nothing but mud and rock. Greens were average condition. Could be better if players/ground crew fixed their ball marks. Clubhouse is nothing to write home about but hey, I'm not there to hang in the clubhouse. The people were nice enough. This course has potential but it's going to take some investment before I give it another chance. read more

Played there Memorial day. Had a group of 6 in front of us, a group of 7 in front of them. Play was slow, the marshal split the groups up but as soon as he was gone they were back together. Finally the 6 let us through. then we were stuck behind the 7 some. We complained again and just were told that the whole course was backed up. Then we saw the problem, it was another 6 some that were holding up everyone. WOOOW. The Manager (Pro) had no desire to get the course moving. I talked directly to him and his response was the whole course was slow. YES it was because you had groups of 6 and 7 players. As a side note the course was in BAD shape, patchy bumpy greens and bad fairways, and BIG rocks in the hard dirt sand traps. Other than these things the course was fine. We will never play this course again. read more

Fairways and greens alone do not make an enjoyable course. EVERY bunker on this course looks as though a front-end loader has been playing in it - "sand" has been replaced by mud and gravel. The course overall needs a thorough manicuring. The clubhouse is in need of serious cleaning, in particular the restrooms. The mens urinals looked as though they haven't been cleaned in weeks, and the restroom literally stunk. Used to be a great course and golfing experience, but it's gone to seed. I do love the family environment at Whitestone. I really like the layout of the course. And most of the staff is pretty cool with the exception the hispanic girl recently hired to staff the concession stand. She is borderline rude, never smiles, exhibits zero enthusiasm, and otherwise shows no customer service skills. I would recommend HIGHLY that management here do two things immediately. First, REPAIR THE BALL MARKS! I would also put signs on all par threes to remind/encourage players to repair ball marks. It is a problem! Second, for the love of all that makes sense, adjust your twighlight fees! You lost so much business when i was a member because my friends said hell no to your ridiculous twighlight fees/hours. I really hope this course does well. As i said, it has an appealing family feel! read more
