Our immediate thought was that we could groom our dog on our own; hence the before picture. What that picture doesn't show is the blood from when we tried to clip his nails ourselves. I hated that that happened because I knew that he was in pain and we had to put the cone of shame to keep him from licking it. A few weeks later my neighbor gave me this recommendation. I contacted Brandy via Facebook messenger. She answered in less than a day and told me what she needed and her rates. I told her what had happened with someone in my house trying a home made grooming and she completely understood, but did not make me feel bad about it. I asked her to keep me in mind when she made her way to my neighborhood. She contacted me about 4days later and I made an appointment. I was able to pay her ahead of time and tell my husband that he would not have to trim the dog, again. It worked out perfect she showed up on time and trimmed him all up. I am on active duty and deployed oversees so, knowing that my dog would not have to experience a home hair/nail trim was a big relief. The best part, is that I knew that I would have him groomed up and back in the house without having him in a random crate with other dogs nearby; like in other pet groomers.

His latest flare up happened on a Sunday, forcing us to take him to the emergency vet clinic. As usual, they ran tests and prescribed the standard medications that normally have him feeling better within a day. This time, however, things only got worse. By Monday, my husband and I decided it might be time for a fresh set of eyes and a new veterinary clinic. After searching online, we came across Houston Veterinary Clinic ,the only AAHA accredited clinic in Houston County. After reading the reviews, we decided to give them a try. From the moment we called, we felt reassured. We explained what was going on with Coco, and due to the extreme circumstances of his condition they were kind enough to fit him in that same afternoon. When we arrived, the front desk staff greeted us warmly, and we only waited about five minutes before being seen. Dr. Knox was everything you hope for in a veterinarian , knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and incredibly thorough. He took the time to carefully evaluate Coco, explain the testing process, and discuss a treatment plan along with recommendations for his recovery. What truly stood out to us was the level of care and dedication he showed. He even gave us his personal cell number so we could text him with any questions or concerns regarding Coco's condition or treatment. That level of compassion is rare these days. Most importantly, with Dr. Knox's help, Coco was feeling noticeably better almost immediately after his visit better than he had in days. Seeing our sweet boy finally comfortable again was such a relief. Dr. Knox followed up the next day by text to make sure the treatment was working. We will continue using this clinic for Coco's care moving forward. If you are searching for a veterinary clinic that truly treats your pet like family, I highly recommend this family-owned and operated practice.

We started taking our Coco to Critter Fixer recently, after moving to the area. It is important…read morethat wherever we take our fur baby, they also offer boarding. Unfortunately, Coco has digestive issues, and if we ever have to board him, we would rather have him at a veterinary hospital that is familiar with his medical needs. The staff is always friendly, and the veterinarians take their time when telling us exactly what needs to be done to keep our little one in the best health. My husband and I had a couple of occasions outside of Coco's annual visits where our pup needed medical care, and Critter Fixer was able to accommodate us within hours. Their boarding service is reasonably priced, and they even take the dogs on daily walks during boarding so they can get some exercise. I'm not sure what the boarding facilities look like, but I will say that my Coco did not seem traumatized after his stay, so it must have been decent. My only issue is that it is not easy to get them on the phone. They have a phone service that answers and will try to transfer you, and if no one answers, they take a message and have the office call you back. Since we live about 10 minutes away, usually my husband will drive to their office to schedule appointments, but it is definitely inconvenient and annoying. Overall, we are pleased with the service and glad to have a place to take our fur baby for all his needs.
