Not only did they refinish our entire kitchen, but they also re-did our vanity in our master bath and our vanity in our guest bathroom as well. That was eight years ago. Now, we can honestly say that Mountain States did a wonderful job on our kitchen and both of our bath vanities. Honestly, I'm surprised that I didn't give them a write-up back then...but I am doing it now. And I'm also doing it now due to some recent service they provided to our kitchen slide-out drawers. In fact we make it a habit to always visit the MSK&B displays at all of the Home Shows here in Sandy. We did so again a few weeks ago for the Fall Home Show, and ended up speaking to one of the sales ladies working the booth. We explained to her some issues we were having with a few slide-out racks, and specifically the 3-level spice rack to the side of our range. She said she would get in touch with us...and she did! We don't remember her name but we did get a call directly from Natasha. I called Natasha back the other day and explained what we were looking for, and she came out Wednesday. She arrived on time and proceeded to address the spice rack issue (there was a problem with the sliders that she fixed) and inspected at least six other racks for us. She lubricated all of our pull-out sliders and now everything is working great! The best part is that all of this inspection, repair, lubrication, and adjustment service was FREE. Yes, after eight years Mountain States really came through and provided some needed service to long-term - and very satisfied - customers. Thank you! We've picked up several things for the house at Bed Bath & Beyond here and there but again it is never our first stop. Target carries many of the same items as Bed Bath & Beyond and usually at a lower price too. Customer service is usually friendly and helpful when asked.

Which is the main reason I bought it. A couple days ago the spring stopped working and the blade just stayed inside so I went back today to see what they could do about it. Right away the guy tells me "there's no way you bought this from us" and then says "show me where we have this". So I literally walk over to their shelf and show him the same knife sitting there. Then he starts questioning if my knife is even real, which obviously pissed me off considering I bought the knife from them. Instead of trying to look up the purchase or actually help me, he tells me he isn't going to get to it today and maybe he'll look at it Monday. Then he has me write down my name and number and starts saying "we aren't the guarantor" and "we'll see what we'll do when we open it up". I told him it felt like he was just trying to wash his hands of the issue and he got mad and started talking to me in a pissed off tone. At that point I wasn't leaving my $400 knife there so I asked for it back, and as I'm leaving he tells me "good luck". Absolutely terrible way to treat a customer. You guys sold me the knife, you guys told me it had a lifetime warranty, and now that something actually broke suddenly "there's no way" I bought it there and you're questioning if it's even real. Sun River Gardens is beautifully organized, thoughtfully displayed, and stocked with a selection that puts most nurseries in the area to shame. Walking through it feels less like a garden center errand and more like an experience worth making time for. The indoor plant section is well curated and extensive. The outdoor area covers annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs. The pottery selection, both indoor and outdoor, is lovely and priced accordingly. The pre-potted arrangements are hard to walk past. And then there is the home decor section, which is genuinely my favorite part of the visit. Exclusive, elegant, and full of pieces you simply will not find anywhere else, from beautiful accents and furniture to the most charming toys you can imagine. None of it is cheap, but none of it looks like anything else either. Now for the part I have been trying to figure out for years. I have a green thumb. I have a home full of healthy thriving plants. But something consistently happens with the plants I bring home from Sun River Gardens. Within a week or two, despite careful attention and following care instructions, they decline and die. This has happened enough times to be a pattern rather than a coincidence. Interestingly I have noticed the same thing with plants from other high end nurseries, while plants from Harmons or even Walmart almost always thrive. My best guess is that greenhouse grown plants raised in highly controlled environments struggle more with the transition to home conditions, but I genuinely do not know. What I do know is that it keeps happening. And yet I keep coming back, because the selection and the experience are that good. Four stars for the atmosphere, the inventory, and that home decor section. Just go in with realistic expectations if you are buying plants to keep alive.
