I shop at the nearby Albertsons and recently received a mailer for Highbrook Way Dental, so I decided to pop in before grocery shopping. I was greeted with smiles all around by the three gals at the front office. Everyone was kind and pleasant, and the reception area was bright, clean, and welcoming. I liked it enough to book my first appointment for the following week. I provided my insurance information and asked them to email me my insurance breakdown. At my appointment, I was seen promptly. My hygienist was amazing, thorough, and made me feel very comfortable. She took my X-rays, measured my pockets -- all good there! -- and gave me a great cleaning. Afterward, I met the dentist, who also had a wonderful chairside manner. He reviewed my chart and said everything looked great. My only note is that I had mentioned I prefer cleanings every 3-4 months and am willing to pay out of pocket if insurance doesn't cover it, but upon checkout I was scheduled for six months out. Maybe I wasn't clear, so I'll follow up. Either way, I really loved my visit and look forward to my next one. Also, the back office was just as immaculate as the front -- not a dust bunny in sight! I've had one visit and the people were very friendly. The front desk and getting checked in was a very good experience and she was quite lovely. I felt I got good care although I felt I did need to advocate for myself on a few minor things. I didn't want them polishing my teeth before the hygienist had completed her scaling. It is not a good practice to polish teeth before all the plaque has been removed. They have quite a few staff members that do different things. They have two hygienist and then they have assistance that do the polishing. You can request having one person do the scaling and the polishing, but they can only accommodate that on certain days due to the lack of staffing?? So for my next visit, I will have one person do it all. They were quite accommodating. I think I'm scheduled with a different dentist for my next visit. I think I will see her and see how I like her. She is newer in her career, but I feel I might like to give her a shot. The jury is still out for me. I'll update in 6 months.

When I found Birchwood (through reviews and their online site), they had a waiting list. On the list I went and only had to wait a few months. Located in a small strip mall, it's easy to miss, but very close to my home. Been there twice for x-rays and cleanings. Evan was my hygenists both times and he does an excellent job. I love the tv screen on the ceiling as they play netflix's Moving Art. The images are immersive and relaxing. So much so, I started playing it at home. It had been ages since a dentist had checked my teeth at my previous dentist office as he would not be in the office on a regular basis and you had to make a separate appointment from cleaning just to have him check your teeth for a few minutes. Dr. Holdaway checked my teeth at the end of each cleaning. Everyone I encountered is friendly and professional from start to finish. Lucky to find this group.
