I come to Mountain View Pointe Dental twice a year for teeth cleaning. Every other appointment,…read more they make me gag with the X-ray bitewings. Have never gotten over that feeling. Last week, I bit down on something and cracked about a quarter of one of my lower molars. Luckily, no nerve endings were exposed, so there wasn't any pain or discomfort. The next day, they worked me in to evaluate the extent of the damage and let me know my options. I expected they would X-ray the tooth and then schedule me for a second appointment to repair the damage. Instead, they said they could rebuild the tooth right then, using resin to fill in the gap. They also replaced my old 1970s-era amalgam filling, also covering the tooth with more resin. Even with the shot of Novocaine and having to wait 15 or 20 minute for it to take effect, the entire procedure took less than an hour. Dr. David Seegmiller and his staff do a great job.

Short: Dr Trejo and the team at the Eagle location are absolutely wonderful and incredibly ethical. Call Now. Long: It was the Thursday before Memorial day weekend and I had been preparing a veggie tray for a party. I had heard one odd crunch but, ya know carrots, whatever. Until it was time for bed. I brushed and had an increasing ache. I thought for sure I must have cracked a tooth! I was in a near panic. I might have to wait until Monday? Would I get an infection? Lose a tooth? I found a place in town that opened at 6:30AM and you can bet I was there - only to find out the DR wouldn't be taking appointments until 1:30PM, MAYBE I could get looked at today but I was told "The next appointment to TRY to fix it would be June 22!?" "Try?" People go a month with a cracked tooth? All I could think was that would be an infection for sure! In a panic I went home and started calling everyone - then (and I wish I knew her name!) a lovely admin at the Emerald location said they were closed but there was an appointment at the Eagle location in an hour. She said she would call and tell them I was on my way and would likely be late (Now I know everyone says it's "only 45 min to Boise" but apparently I drive slow? ) Can I tell you these people are the NICEST, like Trader Joe's nice! Every last one of them, from the lady who saw me at the wrong door, let me in and walked me through the office because the back door is in the front (What?! LOL! Don't whip in and park closest to Eagle like I did, go past there then around to the left.) The ladies in the waiting room to the hygienist who took my x rays and got me settled in. Everyone was so upbeat and friendly. Then I met Dr Trejo. He was incredibly kind. And it was at that moment that I learned you can BRUISE a tooth. Did you know that? Is this common knowledge? Sure, logical, teeth have nerves too but I struggled to believe him, LOL! Don't tell him but I googled it in the car, I really thought maybe he was just trying to help me not feel dumb. Of course I was equally relieved and so embarrassed. (Again, it's me feeling dumb all on my own they were so very kind) I happily paid that $150 thanking my lucky stars because how much is a crown? Sure enough it ached for the next day or two but it's fine now. Also, I should mention if you do not have dental insurance they have a $33 a month plan and it does give an additional 20% off any additional work. So, I hope you are reading this long version as you wait for your (actually pleasant) appointment and may you be as lucky as I was!

The staff and the dentist are so eager to help the patient feel better and I do. The orthotics for my mouth and the Botox have been life changing and to have the staff that cares for me during this process be so polite and caring makes all the difference in the world. It was hands down the worst dental experience I've had. I told her I require more numbing juice than most and she wouldn't give me any more after I was saying I was in pain. I alerted the assistant that I was in pain and the dentist kept going. The temporary crown fell off two days after it was put on and the permanent doesn't fit my night guard that I wear. Ever since this procedure that side of my mouth has been painful to chew on. Makes me wonder if I actually needed the procedure or if they needed the money, it wasnt cheap. I have not been to the dentist since and I am normally a habitual visitor for cleanings. I will be going somewhere else.

The cavity was below the gumline, so I was really worried about how he was going to get to the cavity. He was able to painlessly push my gum down enough to get to the cavity and do the filling. It didn't hurt at all, and my gum wasn't even sore afterward! I have a lot of sensory issues, but I felt totally relaxed and just watched some of my favorite shows on the overhead screen with the headphones they provided and a nice warm blanket on my legs. Paytyn was so wonderful about making sure I was comfortable the whole time! It was a great experience (although I hope I don't need any more fillings done any time soon).
