I decided to give this place a try as the menu looked good. I got there for lunch and was greeted immediately upon entering and told to sit anywhere on the patio. I found a seat and settled in. I already knew what I was going to order based on customer favorites and recommendations. Pros: Service was quick. I'm pretty sure it was also because of going early in the day. I ordered an unsweet ice tea and got two food items. Started with the Jalapeño Popper Queso. This was very good. I like how the cheese tasted a little sweeter rather than the typical nacho style cheese. I brought that home. I then ordered the customer favorite grinder sandwich no tomato. This is hit or miss. The good is the sandwich isn't as big as I initially thought. Perfect portion size for me anyways. And it was filled with meats and condiments. Cons: This is where the bad comes in. The sandwich, though very good, wasn't anything special. Plus the mayo was way too much. Also the chips were extremely salty that I couldn't eat more than a few. Think no more than 5. Those are the main downsides. Recommended? Probably. I will be back with my husband to see how he likes it. I saved him some of the quest to try. I would order something different next time. It wasn't too bad, I'd say average overall. The costs were a bit high in my personal opinion. Sandwich and chips $17 seemed a bit over the top. I got the Italian panini which was at least full with cheese and meat. I would recommend their Margarita but be prepared, like their menu states "only three per customer" I prefer a stiff drink and this one doesn't disappoint. When traveling on hwy 50 this would be a decent stop and most of it is covered and outdoors which I thought was nice. Dog friendly as well. read more

In town for the royal gorge train ride. Already had dinner somewhere else but at 7pm we weren't really looking to go sit in our hotel room. It's hot as hades today, but the shaded rooftop bar is nice and unlike walking downtown there's a decent breeze. At 7:30 it's still 84 degrees. I ordered the Hot Mama. For $13 I expected more. Heavy on the pineapple juice, there's a hint of jalapeno but really only the hint. The soda water must have been flat, no pleasant effervescence. The flavors remind me of drinking La Croix. Someone once compared that to drinking a flavorless sparkling water while someone ate fruit on the other side of the room. Tequila? Couldn't tell you if there's any in this drink because I certainly didn't taste it. Staff was friendly, and the service was attentive without being annoying. read more

A nice new spot in Canon near the train. Sitting right on Hwy 50, it is a big two story white building with a large open patio at the back (so you can see the train and the river in the distance). Some parking out front, but tons of parking in the 3rd St. lot and it is an easy walk up to the place. We checked out the menu online and decided we would hit it up on of their happy hours. Prices are sky high here, but the tourist traps often are, so we just suck it up if it is worth it. Now, we did not get food, so I can't say on that front. Drinks wise they have bottles and cans in the way of beer (no draft) and mixed drinks (lots of blended margs were ordered when we went and they seemed tasty). We stuck with beer and sat up top. It had just had a passing weather system (it sprinkled) and they actually didn't have it open when we can in, but soon after it opened. Still, down below are tons of tables, couches and open garage doors to let the air in. Liked the staff and the vibe. Definitely nice views up top. It is a great spot for a drink! read more

Plenty of seating available inside, outside, and outdoors upstairs on the rooftop. Outdoor heaters available. We enjoyed our time here as the staff were very accommodating and the drinks were great! I would recommend the meatballs and the margaritas which have a 3limit max. read more

Review: The Skimpiest Reuben Sandwich Known to Man (1 out of 5 pickles) I don't know what I ordered, but it sure as hell wasn't a Reuben. This was more like a Reub-off. Let's start with the meat--because they sure didn't. I peeled open the sandwich expecting a mountain of corned beef, and instead found what looked like the paper they use to separate real slices. I've seen more meat in a vegan cookbook. I don't know if they were trying to save money or if someone just forgot, but this sandwich was emptier than a politician's promise. The Swiss cheese was there in spirit. Like, maybe it had been present in the kitchen once? Possibly within whispering distance of the bread? Because it definitely wasn't in the sandwich. The sauerkraut was a single, limp strand--like it wandered in by mistake and got stuck. And the Russian dressing? MIA. Probably off doing better things with its life. The whole thing was pressed flat like it had lost the will to live. I picked it up and it drooped sadly, like a sandwich that had just received bad news. I came in hungry. I left confused, emotionally betrayed, and still hungry. I didn't know whether to ask for a refund or a hug. If you're craving a real Reuben, this place isn't it. But if you've ever wondered what a Reuben after a tax audit looks like, this sandwich is your answer. read more

Dog friendly rooftop with an awesome view of the Royal Gorge Railroad station, so you can see the train pull in and out if you time it right. Our sever was on top of everything. Very efficient delivering food and drinks without being pushy. He did offer the local discount (20% today) unfortunately we aren't local. My bad. Had the grinder and the chopped Italian sandwich. Both came with chips and pickle, both good. It's a great place to hang out, especially on a beautiful day like today. Will return, gladly. (Sorry no pics. Unfortunately, the entrees we tried are swimming in sauces which overpowered the flavors of the meat. They serve a "margarita" that I have heard is made with apple juice. It is not good. When I ask if they can make a real margarita, the answer is no. The drinks are also very watered down and when you ask to add less mixer, they do not oblige. The service staff is friendly and the venue is really nice. Please improve your food and your beverages and we will come back. read more

Went last night for the first time. Met a friend for a drink and we decided to try it. Ambiance is excellent, we sat upstairs and comfortable seating, good views. She had a vodka tonic and I had a mojito. We both felt we drank virgin drinks as the liquor was negligible if any. Waitress was average. Didn't eat so can't comment on food. Rooftop bar pulled us in on our way to the royal gorge, so we stopped on our way back. They were so kind and accommodating. The view out the back was great too. We started with the burrata, balsamic , pesto, and pistachio with toasted breaded (my favorite!), and the artichoke dip. Then we all split a bunch of Ruebens. The side salads were also fantastic. Drinks wise - we had beer, lavender gin, and tonic, and the margarita. The margarita was just okay - too heavy on the sour, but the glasses were cute. And gin drink was so good - not too much lavender. I wish I got pictures of the food. But this place has a great vibe and if we find our way down here again, we'd definitely come back! read more

This is a very confusing place. I love the ambiance and the views. The limited food menu has me baffled. I cant quite figure out if this is a deli or a tapas restaurant. Staff is fun and they live up to the place being social ! Overall Whitewater has a pretty good reputation although some of their bartenders at other locations need trained ASAP-- you know who you are ! read more
