When I put in a request for quoted work around the area I got a lot of responses. But what stood out from Clean Wave Pools is that they didn't sugar coat anything or beat around the bush. They were upfront with us on what it would take to get the pool from green to crystal clear. It always helps when a company quotes you something close to what the work may come out to. When I first spoke to their receptionist/scheduler she was so nice and understanding. I explained how this company my parents had been using kept giving them different solutions to fix the green pool. Spent well over $1000 to have the pool look the same. I got fed up. So many companies take advantage of the elderly so I ended up getting quotes from yelp. Luke spoke to me and set up a time and day to check it out and give a quote for free. I loved that he was true to his word and helped my parents out. Every visit they sent myself and my parents an email of the breakdown of work that was done. We ended up using this company because of how professional they were. They knew what they were talking about. Well within 3 weeks the pool went from green to crystal clear. Luke even explained the speed or the pump was incorrect which the company Aqualink installed the unit and told my parents they needed to upgrade it. Screw that, my tech savvy self connected to the unit and got it back up and running and updated the speed to the pump as suggested by Luke. My parents are so happy they can use their pool again. I selected Davis, and what could have been the start of a great relationship with a local business quickly became a disappointment due to their disinterest in helping resolve a Leslie's end error. Unfortunately the staff and the district manager made it very apparent they could not be bothered with me and tried to pass the buck for the Leslie's error telling me to call Uber, who of course insisted it was a Leslie's error. Uber thankfully told me to call Leslie's Corporate although I had to find that number on my own. Leslie's Corporate confirmed I entered the correct delivery address as screenshots and an invoice show (and as I had explained) and is working to resolve the problem and get me my apparently no longer arriving same day product... Even sending me to Leslie's corporate and a general knowledge of what was going on and some empathy from the local staff could have resolved the issue that morning instead of in the afternoon after a day spent chasing around a $1600 item, mostly for the benefit of Leslie's or Uber; one of whom was going to have to eat the cost with AMEX if they didn't get it back. Regardless of whose fault it was I will not be visiting Leslie's in Davis or getting a quote for pool service from them. I want to work with businesses that go out of their way to help customers, especially when the error is due to their brand.

Khang quickly diagnosed both problems, repaired the shaft seal, corrected the wiring, and got my pump running perfectly. He didn't just fix the problem--he took the time to explain what went wrong, answered all of my questions, and gave me practical advice on maintaining my older pool. He pointed out that my 72-year-old fiberglass pool only has one return jet, explained why that affects circulation, and even showed me why he believes there's a partial clog in the plumbing. He also recommended products that would actually help instead of trying to sell me things I didn't need. He even told me to return the metal stain remover because he didn't think my stains were caused by metals, which I really appreciated. Khang was honest, knowledgeable, patient, and professional. As a first-time pool owner, I learned more from him in one visit than I had in months of trying to figure everything out on my own. I highly recommend Khang to anyone needing pool repairs or maintenance. I'll definitely be calling him again.

I followed up again on 5/22, and after more delays, they finally texted on 5/26 saying they needed to inspect all of the equipment before starting. Unfortunately, after waiting nearly two weeks with little communication and no service, our pool turned green. If an inspection was required, that should have been communicated upfront instead of after weeks of waiting. We ended up going with another company because the process took far too long and communication was extremely poor.

"Woodys Pools" was used as a vendor by the Property Management company I rented from. WOODY, the owner of the company, yelled at me in the phone while driving in defense of dragging out the issues with the pool. The staff who come out and service the pools weekly are amazing. The owner, WOODY, is lacking in professionalism, courtesy, timeliness of repairs and demonstrated that clearly over the 6 years I interacted with him. The second time, I was out of town and had a dog sitter coming by twice a day, and fortunately for me, my dog does not wander far and was spotted by a neighbor, who brought him home, put him in the backyard, closed the fence, and attempted to talk to the pool cleaner, who had a dismissive attitude and pretended he didn't know who the dog belonged to. (We have a dog door inside the house so the dog has free rein to go in and out, but stay within the confines of our yard). The work the cleaner did was marginal anyway, and my pool was often greenish within days after he cleaned it. I fired him the second time the dog got out. I cannot have anyone with so little sense of responsibility working in my yard. Avoid this company if you have pets!
