I have had my vehicles repaired at Whitney's multiple time over the past few years. Each time I have gone there I have walked away feeling that I was treated fairly. Each time my problem was fully resolved. They are reasonably priced. They are honest- they have never tried to dream up "unseen" problems that needed to be added on. The communication is great. They ask for your informed permission before they fix anything that they may have diagnosed. They give you options with your budget in mind. Today they repaired my brakes. He was able to turn two of my rotors rather than replacing them. I appreciate someone looking out for me. Many times you'll be talking to Shelby when you call. You can feel reassured that she is capable of relaying your issues to the mechanic, Mike. She has worked in the office for years and knows what she's doing. Another satisfied review! Went to fix a problem with my older Toyota 4 Runners tailgate and inside lights issue. Back gate would not open, lock or fully close. And my inside lights were malfunctioning, not sure how/why. Mike took the back gate apart (whoa, lol) and checked fuses, electrical and physical body issues. It turned out to be mostly physical issue and some electrical. Mike fixed it all and my bill was LOW, even with all the time it took to dismantle the gate, etc. A dealership would have cost a lot more and tried to up sell me. But I'm confident Mike would have let me know of any additional problems my vehicle had. Shelby is the office Queen and helped me as well. Tried calling the shop periodically for over 4 hours, the phone kept ringing until I got the message "this number has been disconnected". I thought it may be a temporary outage, and I had previously had a good experience here; since they are local, I got in my vehicle and went to the shop. Sign on the door said they take lunch from 12-1- same as myself- so I waited patiently. At 1:05pm, walked to the side and saw someone sitting in the waiting area, so I knocked on the door- no response. Knocked again- was ignored. It's bad enough that there is nowhere to park, and the shop looks like a graveyard of dead vehicles now, but some of us also take a noontime lunch and don't appreciate when businesses ignore them and don't keep to the hours they post (not to mention, apparently don't pay their phone bills). I would recommend you avoid this shop. read more

They offer a "new car check-over" that entails looking a vehicle that one is considering purchasing for only $30... as an older gal on SS only this was the draw. They not only found things, they gave me a written estimate with which I was able to negotiate a better price. Mike and Shelby are both awesome took my car in to get my alternator fixed the same day my alternator got fixed my starter went out on the lot. Mike fixed both parts for me and had my car back to me when he promised it would be done. Shelby was so helpful and did everything she could to make sure my parts were not only reasonably priced but also didn't over charge in labor. Charlotte & Surrounding areas if you are looking for someone honest, efficient, and affordable to take your car to then look no further than Whitney Automotive & Diagnostics. They let me know that I didn't need all of the parts that Honda initially said that I did and gave me the option to get less work done if I wanted- I was so surprised. They also found a problem that Honda and another shop missed, my front sway bar links were broken this entire time- which explains why the handling on my car was horrific when I brought it in. I thought it was only the rear. They quickly fixed them and our little Honda handles so much better already. Also, the price I was quoted over the phone is the price that I paid, no surprises or taking advantage of you once your car is hoisted in the air. The atmosphere is friendly and professional, yet lighthearted. O and I forgot to mention, their work is warrantied as well! My wife and I just moved to the area and WAS IN NEED for some new brakes. I'm always skeptical about trying out new folks for a service preformed for me. These guys really know their stuff. I had several things wrong with my truck. Check engine light was on and I seemed to be losing transmission fluid. He found my problems right away. They were some serious problems. My estimate for the repairs was more than what they charged me. Everyone was so nice. Even gave me a 24 month guarantee on both parts and labor. They sure dropped the ball on my truck. Didn't hook up the computer cables correctly to a transmission they put in then put a dry transfer case in. (No grease). When I tried to get them to fix it his reply was " just keep the $150 you owe us." All that work and money for nothing. read more

Absolutely amazing service! In town visiting my in laws and needed to find a place to service their Jeep Renegade with low miles, but a check engine light on and needing an oil change. Mike and Shelby were extremely welcoming to us as walk ins. Mike checked the engine light and walked us through his thoughts (third car in a week) about the sensor. He kindly reset the light, and we scheduled an oil change for the following day. Extremely fair pricing, clear communication to BOTH of us... not just the man. I had found them on Yelp, so I hope this review helps others looking for a great, responsive, and professional garage. Also they offer 10% off labor to active duty and veterans. We always appreciate that. If I took a star away, it would only be because they're Duke fans and this Syracuse Alumni struggled with that. I kid.
