I made an appointment as a new patient at this dental practice, because its location, a 5 minutes drive from my new home. The hygienist cleaned my teeth & assessed my gum health like all the other dental office I used to go, aka, nothing extraordinary or special. Since this is a 6-months routine dental appointment, it consists of oral evaluation, and prophylaxis. And they added my annual bitewing X-rays at this visit, which is fine. So, all they performed for this visit was a fairly normal 6 months dental appointment. However, I got a huge bill, which listed 6 items they claimed they did, without my knowledges and prior approval. This is the very first time I felt being taken advantages of from a dentist's. The charges is absurd and false. I would Not recommend this practice to any one. read more

August 2023 the dentist apologized to me for not being prepared for my scheduled appointment but she and her office failed to contact me ahead of time to let me know. The appointment had been scheduled for several months. I tried to call them multiple times before 4 PM the week of my appointment and no one answered the phone. They also sent me a text message telling me that I would have to pay a penalty if I missed my appointment only for me to show up and have them not be prepared for my appointment. I've been going to Westfields Dental and seeing Dr. Papp for several years now. I have nothing but positive things to say about the clean and comfortable facilities, the dedicated and professional staff, and the the excellent care I receive. The facilities are stylish and always clean, which is nice and expected at a dentist's office. If it wasn't clean I wouldn't come here. What I really like is how comfortable and inviting the office is. My favorite part is definitely the multiple TVs that you can enjoy. There's one right in front of you and one on the ceiling, so sit back and enjoy whatever you want to watch while enduring your visit. I find that this distraction makes the experience much more relaxing and appealing. The staff here is top notch and they go above and beyond to make your visit perfect. They are polite, friendly and caring. I have always had great interactions with them and I value the way I am treated when I come in. Dr. Papp is great!!! His friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and kind approach is very appealing. He is a true professional in his field and I have never felt that he is trying to pull one over on me. These days a good dentist is hard to come by, so I feel lucky that I get to come here and enjoy it when I do. read more

I visited Dr. Whitney Jarrell's office in July 2020 for family dental care since my previous family dentist closed his office. Dr. Jarrell was recommended by my friend. The first visit was good and her office staff were nice and professional. I wanted to do dental implant and Dr. Jarrell referralled me to Dr. Keren Sperling for implant consultation. I went over the implant consultation in July and held off the deep clenaing schedule recommended by Dr. Sperling because I wanted to have my regular dental cleaning first which I haven't done for a year due to coronavirus. I scheduled regular dental cleaning with Dr. Whitney's office for 8am on 9/23/2020 without problem and I even confirmed the appointment two weeks before the schedule and got phone message reminder at 7pm on 9/22/2020. I arranged to take half workday off for the dental cleaning. On 9/23/2020 morning, when I was on the way to Dr. Whitney's office which emailed me at 7:27am and called me at 7:37am (the appointment is at 8am), the office staff told me that my appointment was cancelled because Dr. Sperling didn't release me to Dr. Whitney for dental care and I had to go through the deep cleaning procedure first with Dr. Sperling. Is this a joke? I cannot do dental cleaning before deep cleaning? This made me so frustrated. It has been 1.5 months after I visited Dr. Sperling's office and scheduled dental cleaning with Dr. Whitney's office, they managed to cancel my appointment on the last minute before I got in the office door. Is this the way to take care of patients by ruining their health and wasting their time and money? My trust was abused and I won't recommend the two doctors to my friends. read more

As a dentist, she is great. As an office, they are often overbooked and difficult to get an appointment with. Appointments are more "targets", and they fall off schedule. The problem.l then is that if it conflicts with your schedule, they are so heavily booked you're out of luck. I had an appointment for an 11am cleaning - but when they were going 30 mins late, and I had other commitments, it was one other option.... or two months later. If your schedule is tight, know they aren't going to accommodate you well. read more

Went there a few weeks ago based on Yelp reviews so many positive ratings. Sat down in lobby and noticed that they give people $5 gift cards if you write a review and show it to the front desk (who's going to write a bad review and show it to them...). I bothers me when people buy reviews. Also, front desk, really not much there in terms of a warm reception. The kind of people that know their job taking paperwork too well that they cut you off mid sentence and give the answer. Yes, you know what you're doing, but guess what I don't care, just a please and thank you would go a long way. Anyways, my hygienist was fantastic and hence the additional star, she did pitch me on a $35 fluoride treatment and tried to get my kids dental business by asking where our kids go... but I don't blame her, I'm sure it's part of her training from the dentist there. I was supposed to see Dr. Papp... but he was running behind so I saw another dentist, She was a young lady, didn't get the name, probably because of how quickly she went through the consultation. She might as well have screamed out "Next...!" A bit too arrogant and insincere in my opinion. Gave it a shot, but I'm going somewhere else. read more

Updated review from visit 3/1/2021: I saw dr. Bobbio and staff and again, I was blown away by the bedside manner, the cleanliness of the office and the friendly staff. Extra bonus, is that I literally did not feel anything when getting a filling on multiple surfaces- I didn't even feel the lidocaine injection. Dr. Bobbio I a true artist and basically rebuilt my tooth, and in 45mins from start to finish. I have and will continued to be impressed with Westfields dental and will continue to be a patient of theirs. It may be a bit of a drive for me , but that doesn't matter because I know I will get the best service and dental work. Dr. Bobbio said before she did the lidocaine injection, "my number one concern to keep you comfortable, if you need a break or feel pain, just raise your left hand". Well I didn't raise my left hand during procedure. And today, I'm just a touch sore but that's expected. I have been a patient of Westfield's dental since I was 15 years old, started with dr. Papp, and now with dr. Jarrell and dr. Bobbio. Just a fantastic staff and outstanding skills in dentistry. Thank you ladies of Westfield dental ! You are wonderful group of medically professionals. I've been going to Westfields Dental since I moved to the area last year. I needed fillings so I came here. I work 9-5 so there hours are perfect because on certain days I can come in before or after work, and they are open every other Saturday. The women at the front desk are awesome. They are always so nice and polite. Dr. Papp and the dental hygienists here are great. I feel like they take their time and they do a fantastic job of cleaning my teeth. Do not come here to see Dr. Richard Papp. Issue: I was charged for a new crown procedure. Dentist perform the crown build up, installed temporary crown, order the new crown and charged me for the total procedure. I came back in two weeks to have the new crown install but found out he sold his business to a new dentist who does not accept my insurance and will not finish the job he started and he left town. Now I'm stuck fighting with my insurance trying to process a complaint to refund my payment. read more

Dr Jarrell takes care of our whole family and I'm only sorry that I didn't make this move sooner. I gave the office 4 stars not becuase of the service, but only because parking is a little difficult. I had been going to Westfields Dental for about 10 years. Back before Dr Papp sold to Dr Jarrell. I kept going because their hygienists and Dr Jarrell made it a very pleasant / positive visit every time. Unfortunately, for my last visit, I called the week prior to confirm and was informed they may need to reschedule. "But are not certain yet". OK, I asked to change the visit because I do not want to take time off work for nothing. Was informed the next opening they had was in three months. But they were willing to put me on a waiting list and contact should something sooner become available. No I did not keep my appointment, and I found a new dentist's office. I am very disappointed. We all know how it is a shot in the the dark finding a dentist you like and trust. This week I had my third crown and the first by Dr. Papp and his team....a totally stress and pain free process. He was also very efficient and quick getting me through the process in a little over an hour. Appears all these five star reviews benefited from their Starbucks gift card incentive. Very rare to see establishment with one sided reviews. Our family gave dr Papp and his staff two years and finally needed to cut the cord. Do not allow the shiny office, shiny equipment and led tv's blind you. It will always come down to the level of care and accountability w any medical practice. I have reported them to my Aetna insurance and will document their practice to VA dental board. 1. My 7 year old had a cavity about 1year ago. Dr Papp assured us the baby tooth could be saved. He did the routine procedure and off we went. Approx 4 months later she was exhibiting pain in her gums near the tooth he worked on. I took her to a pediatric dentist for second opinion (childrens dentistry, dr. Julie Baveja) she was shocked and explained the cavity wasn't properly cleaned out and it had penetrated the root and BEGAN perforating her gum line which was swollen and blistering. She immediately removed the tooth and applied a bridge to allow space for the adult tooth to eventually come in. thankfully we caught this in time before it reached the adult tooth and jaw line (google that, its not pretty). Weeks later i went into westfields dental and confronted dr papp. He by all accounts dismissed it and gently nodded and said it "happens" and simply did not take responsibility or showed honest concern. Fine, drs make mistakes right?? we are all human But own up to your practice/legacy guy! 2. Fast forward to this year. My wife required a root canal which was directed by the office to a specialist (thank god). She returned to dr papps office and the tech applied the temporary crown on first attempt which fell off that evening. Again, reshuffled our busy lives and found care for our three girls so my wife could go back for the second attempt to no avail, the tech spend 30min trying to apply the temp crown and allowed her pride to get in the way of asking for help, aka dr Papp... Which in fact he did ask if everything was "ok" towards the end of the ordeal. She, the tech brushed off the dr's help and insisted it could not be applied because my wife had some uncommon "bite"? We're Clueless to what this implies as in fact two weeks later, dr. applied the permanent crown. 3. Ive made several attempts in the last month w his front office to speak w dr Papp and plead for him to return our calls, it's clear he does not have time to make a simple call and discuss his patients health and concerns. Oh well, prob unlikely ill get the $5 Starbucks gift card for this yelp post. 4. As of the date of this post, i am requesting our dental records be pulled from westfields dental and taking my families dental health elsewhere. I was glad my insurance covered this relatively nearby office since it is rated so highly. I was really relieved they allowed me to join as a new patient on short notice, especially due to the Aetna policies. My first overall experience was good, service was professional and my hygenist was thorough but gentle with the cleaning. I received a call two business days before a cleaning to inform me that they were cancelling my appointment since their new management would not take my insurance any longer. I am in the middle of having a tooth extracted and an implant by an orthodontist surgeon. They told me a needed a "flipper" and I believed them and spent $425 on a retainer with a tooth on it to wear after my tooth extraction. The surgeon said it was just for cosmetic purposes. Westfield's dental didn't explain that and now I am out the money. I am very glad to be switching to another general dentist. read more

The medical service was fine HOWEVER they dropped out of the Insurance carrier that we had originally started with. In today's high cost of medical treatment and insurance costs one would expect a professional organization to inform you before hand regarding a change or at a minimum, let one know before treatment that they no longer were DentaQuest providers. Instead when I received the Explanation of Benefits from Dentaquest and much to my surprise, and very different than the original cost for the services I had a significant increase in my bill. Never been fond of any of my previous dentists, so was hesitant about this place at first. Dr. Papp is very friendly and calm, tries to throw in a joke or two here and there, which reassures me and puts me at ease! Went in for my first root canal (dun-dun-dun..), but he jumped right in, wasted no time and before I knew it, it was over. Not bad at all. They are also respectful of your time (never spent longer than 10 minutes in the waiting room) while still being through. I'm starting Invisalign with them soon and they've been so helpful through the whole process - even emailing me videos to show how my teeth will look afterwards!
