We have trusted them with our dogs for many years, and they have consistently provided the highest level of care, not just for our pets, but for us as well. We have, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to two beloved dogs there, and those moments are some of the hardest a pet owner can face. I have been a pet owner for many year and have been to many veterinaries in the past. This animal hospital is hands down the best. Our initial appointment went so smoothly from the check in process to the appointment itself. You can really feel that all the staff cares deeply about each pet. When I called about an issue my cat was having I was able to be seen same day. Dr. Frazier was incredibly patient and kind during the entire appointment. I called to make an appointment and after hearing of her symptoms they offered to see her immediately! How often does that happen? Everyone at Whitney's have superb 'bedside manners. My little buddy came down with an illness and I was referred to Whitney vet clinic. They asked me to leave him for a few hours for testing. Unfortunately he never came back home. It turned out to be inoperable cancer. He was with me for 12 great years and I miss him every day. The staff at the hospital was so fantastic and caring. I cannot speak highly enough regarding care or the amount of empathy they expressed. It was really tough to get that phone call but again I want to thank Dr.Mike and the whole staff for everything they did to help. If I could give this office 10 stars I would! I was new to the area and called a couple vets before I called here and got an appointment for a Saturday. I am so glad they got me in. The receptionist actually offered on the phone to call my veterinarian to get my pups prior records. (They did too) I was concerned my pup might have a bladder infection due to his frequent urination. My husband thought it was because he was a pup. I was right, but my baby had other issues I wasn't expecting! He had some teeth coming in wrong due to baby teeth and an ear infection and a bladder infection. I was so glad they could do the dental work the day of visit because I was leaving in 2 days. He got all of his immunizations, anesthesia, 3 teeth pulled, urine specimen, stool specimen, antibiotics, prednisone, ear cream and a dr's visit for $500. This was more than I was expecting initially, but worth it for a healthy pup. He will be returning in a couple weeks for his recheck and 2nd shot to protect him from an infection from wildlife droppings in water on the ground. read more

I have only positive, grateful things to say about this vet and especially about Dr. Nancy Hayes. Dr. Hayes is amazing - gentle with dogs who don't feel well and incredibly insightful about veterinary care. The entire staff is warm and knowledgable, and they made every single visit a positive one - even when scary, upsetting things were going on for my sweet puppy. I lived an hour away from the clinic and was 100% committed to making the drive to see Dr. Hayes no matter how many vets might have been closer - I would have driven from even farther away, if necessary! I can't stress this enough: Peoria is very lucky to have Dr. Hayes, and my dog was very lucky to be cared for by her. read more

Our beloved dog, Bob, sustained a severe injury to his front leg, requiring orthopedic surgery unavailable in Galesburg. Our wonderful vet clinic referred us to Whitney and arranged the surgery with them. We were devastated and scared, but that all started to change the moment we walked into Whitney. I literally cannot say enough good things about our experience. Every single person on the staff was not only kind and supportive, but they were informative, careful, and detailed in their discussions and explanations. It is evident that the staff love working there, and it's evident that Whitney hires smart, highly-trained staff, and gives them the authority to make decisions and to be involved intimately in all aspects of the pet's care. Dr. Hayes was absolutely amazing, and instilled so much confidence in us when she walked us through the surgery. We are just a day out from surgery, but we are thrilled with how well it went and the amazing attention and care that our dog has received. Further still, Whitney has clearly mastered communication with patients in a way I've never seen in another veterinary practice. Frequent calls and updates, including two calls from the doctor on the day of surgery helped alleviate our anxiety and made us feel like we were being kept in the loop as quickly and thoroughly as possible. We have only had a few days' experience with Whitney Veterinary Hospital, but I have never been so impressed with an animal hospital/clinic in my life. It was the most unfortunate of circumstances that brought me into Whitney for the first time, my baby boy Wicker was not doing well and I knew just how bad it was the moment I picked him up. My heart sank and I rushed to the animal ER, in my haste I failed to notice that it was 4:00 and they don't open that early. The ER quickly called Whitney and they immediately said send her over. Sadly, by the time we arrived I knew Wicker was gone. Still, they tried what they could to no avail. Everyone that I interacted with that day was beyond sincerely kind and understanding. I even received a sympathy card in the mail, which was very unexpected since, as I said, I wasn't ever a customer of theirs. I took my dog here 10 years ago on the advice of a local veterinarian that ran out of ideas; the dog that I feared would have to be put down immediately lived 5 more years, and was cured of his condition. It's for this reason that I drive 40 miles to take all of my dogs here to this day; they are compassionate and highly knowledgeable. They have a separate cat clinic, so if you have a cat that doesn't like dogs, they are completely separate facilities. If it were legal, I would have medical work done on myself here...I trust them that much. read more
