Whole Foods is my go to store for charcuterie needs, flower arrangements, cakes for holidays and now adding seafood platter to the list. Ordering is seamless using the Prime app. Store is always clean and various buffet offerings are available for lunch and dinner so overall a great store to visit! Service is always pleasant as order pickup is always timed and on-time. Parking is not bad either. Highly recommend! read more

I genuinely do not like this place, like... at all! This place has terrible quality food, the watermelons we bought today were very poor quality, even Costco has much better quality watermelons than this! The apricots and fruit we bought were disgusting! They looked like they have been ripped apart or dry! The service is not that great, the staff seem way more careless than they were before! The bathrooms are rarely even clean, I respect the janitors for their bestest effort, but for the rest of the day they were terrible! In fact, it was as bad as the hiking bathrooms how they were full of crap, and it was one of the worst bathrooms ever, and I would consider this also one of THE HELL WORST BATHROOMS EVER! The worst customer care service, whoever is not looking after the bathroom please freaking clean it up! I will rate this place a two out of ten! Despite the okay bathrooms in the morning only, there's nothing good I can say about this! So yeah, this review is short, but I would rather have some place that makes me feel so terrible than a service that's just unintentionally bad! Terrible service, poor quality fruits and food products, and disgusting bathrooms most of the time! I sincerely hope I never have to come back here with my grandma ever again! Small store but was recently impressed with the cheese counter. They told me I can get small portions of cheese freshly cut and were super nice about it. The seafood is typically fresh and they have a good variety. The parking lot is a bit of challenge so watch for pedestrians and cars. They come at you from all angles. read more

I buy a lot of fresh produce at my local community farmers markets in the summer and fall, so I come here in the winter to get the best selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Grocery prices are high everywhere, so Whole Foods' normally exhorbitant prices on some things don't seem so crazy any more. Some things are cheaper at the Shop-Rite next door, but WF has many specialty items that I like. The bakery department is outstanding. They bake a wide variety of fresh breads every day. Their challah is the best around here, and the cranberry-pean bread, olive bread, and pumpernickel are favorites. If you want it sliced, ask someone behind the counter. I buy beef here, especially their giant bacon-cheddar hamburgers. Their poultry is prepackaged, and the fresh fish is good, but expensive. Eggs, cheese, and dairy prices have gone to the moon, but if you want unpasteurized organic nonfat cashew milk yogurt, you can find it here. A big selection of cold cuts at the deli counter isn't their thing, and I generally pass on all their prepared foods and salads, except the excellent cole slaw. Their roast chickens are nicely seasoned and cooked well. The self-checkouts move quickly. I also get 5% refund in points on my Amazon Prime VISA card for shopping here. read more

Whole Foods market really doesn't need an introduction. They excel in organic produce along with top quality dairy and meat products. This particular store is similar in design and layout to the other around. As soon as you enter the store, you'll see the produce section, towards the back would be the meat and fish section, and at the end would be dairy and eggs. The isle have your typical snacks, breads, coffee and other daily household products. I didn't get the chance to look at their hot bar section but I assume that is open with limited capacity and a buffet style. They also have a bakery section with cakes and fresh breads, a coffee & juice section and a kitchen for appetizers and what not also made fresh. Whole Foods are not known to be the cheapest in terms of price, but if you want top notch quality and want to support local farms, this store is the place for you. read more

This is a particularly good Whole Foods. My favorite thing about it is their fantastic staff but also the prices of a number of things I buy regularly are about 10% less in Clark than they are at the store in Union. Both the cheese department and butcher dept are run by super experienced seniors who are extremely skilled and knowledgeable and really elevate the store. From the people at check out to the ones at the front desk, everyone is cool and seems glad to be there. I do not feel this way about all Whole Foods but this one is distinctly different. & I miss Clark Bar-- bring back the beer bar please! read more

I always come here and they are pretty consistent. I like their hot and cold salad bar but it can get pretty pricy. My favorite is the sushi bar. You must try the sushi burrito. The prices are on the high end but the quality and freshness is there. The lines are always long and parking lot full. Avoid on the weekends! read more

the Clark Whole Foods has a problem keeping the shelves stocked. they are always out of the most basic things. today it was heavy cream and chives. i'm forced to make a trip to somewhere else to complete my shopping. in addition they are constantly trying to stock the shelves during store hours. the aisles are small so it's just a pain to move around. can't they do some of that overnight? i would go to Millburn but it's out of the way for me. read more

Located in a very modern looking shopping center Whole Foods fits right in with the slightly more upscale appearance many stores here are aiming for. This is also reflected in its decor, which leans towards a modern look with emphasis on wood and soft tones. It is a very welcoming store that instantly feels clean and comfortable. The store itself has a similar layout to other Whole Foods stores in New Jersey. Near the entrance is the produce section. To the side are snacks (such as nuts and so on). Move beyond that and you'll enter a section with meats and seafood towards the back wall. To the right the aisles of food begin. Whole Foods often carries harder to find high end brands, and that helps bolster the reputation of having high prices. In addition they have their own brands of items (ex: spaghetti sauce) but those are generally more reasonably priced. That said, if you need something that you cannot find at your local market, it's worth checking out Whole Foods to see if they have it. In the wake of the pandemic in 2020, some changes have been made to how this Whole Foods works. Mostly this revolves around "self serve" items. For instance, they used to have a machine where you could crush and make your own peanut butter, but now it is all prepackaged for you. This is also true in their well regarded steam table foods. When I last visited, the only foods I saw in the buffet trays were salad items. The hot soups were being filled in containers by an employee instead of allowing you to do it yourself. They had some prepackaged foods such as a whole chicken. They still have a bakery and prepared foods from behind a counter, so you can still enjoy those! I really like this Whole Foods. I usually frequent the Whole Foods in Princeton, but when they opened their Clark location, it became my new go to place. This WF is located in Clark Commons Shopping Center which is brand new and has various stores and restaurant chains. The parking lot is usually not too crowded unless it's the weekend. The entrance and exits are located a bit far from each other, but I guess they're trying to keep the incoming cart and people traffic organized. When you walk through the main entrance, it leads to the fresh produce. WF is the only place where I can buy fresh Tumeric root. (It's super bitter, looks like an orange finger, but very good for you.) They offer packaged salads, prepared guacamole, tomato sauce, amongst other things. They have a great selection of fruits and vegetables. There is a coffee and juice area where I discovered their Matcha Latte! This is one of the few places where I can order fresh matcha. I love that they offer various kinds of mylk if you're not into the dairy kind. I've also ordered a green juice. Their health and beauty section offers many natural and organic brand of products. I recently saw Pacifica Beauty's new nail polish collection. So many pretty colors! The bakery and prepared food section serves pizza, salads, soups, sandwiches, sushi, etc. The sneeze bar, er hot food section has comfort food, quinoa, salads, noodles, etc. I've been brave enough to order some meals. I usually get a scoop of mac 'n cheese, various salads, and veggies, and it cost me under $8. Their bakery goods get snatched up by the end of the evening. Get the chocolate croissant. It's only $2 and super yummy. They have a grab 'n go section if you're just popping in for a quick lunch. If you have the time, check out the adjacent Clark Bar. They serve local foods prepared at WF. Everything is neat and organized. Pricing is pricey as per Whole Foods, but they do have coupons available and some of their items are on sale. It's nice that some of their items are "Local" indicated by the local sticker. As always, read the labels, don't always assume that something is good for you because it's "vegan", "natural", or "organic". Overall, I really like this WF location. It's more convenient for me and I can always find something to eat or drink since I'm not a huge fan of fast food. I also enjoy grocery shopping here (when I get paid of course). It's definitely smaller in terms of selection/items offered compared to the Princeton WF. But it's awesome and one of my happy places! Don't forget to return your cart and BYOB. This is the worst Whole Foods location i've ever been to. I've only been here once and i'll never come here again. I went here for mochi. I grabbed some fruit on my way in and i did not know what time they closed but they let me in. I was in there for no more than 5 mins and I was rudely told to leave the store by a woman with red hair. As I was walking to the register with my fruit, I saw the mochi and went to grab some. She told me not to but I did anyways because that's what I went there for and I thought what's another 30 seconds?? As I grabbed 2 pieces of mochi she shut the door on my hand. I wanted to get more because I was grabbing some for my boyfriend as well. Disgusted with her behavior, I left all my stuff there and left the store. Have you tried there pizza? It may be the best around, no joke. While some make them better than others, you have to try it. There new pizza is a rueben style, with pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and everything bagel seasoning. There is no sauce on the pizza, but you can ask for Russian dressing on it for the sloppy Joe effect. For Prime members on Friday they offer a whole cheese pizza for only $6.00. WOW. There Seafood is amazingly fresh and those guys put in work to make everything so eye catching. The meat department is always rocking and there coffee is better than Starbucks. This whole foods location is one of my favorites hands-down. I shop here for groceries on a weekly basis because I know at this location I will find everything that I need for the week. This whole foods location is also fairly big compared to the other location in Metuchen. The staff is always friendly and willing to help no matter the question or concern. If you ask them that you are looking for something specific they will personally drop what they are doing and inquire about your needs or personally guide you to the specific item of interest. I love this whole foods because they also have a wide variety of organic options from fruits, vegetables, nuts and plenty of other things! This is the Whole Foods I go to the most because it is just a 5 minute drive from my job and most of the times whenever I don't bring my own lunch from home I grab lunch from there. Some of my favorite things consist of the hot food area and the natural juices at the juice bar. From the hot food I usually grab a little bit of everything from wings to mash potato to some rice. I love how many options they have. Recently I have been obsessing over the natural juices. I usually get the small apple zinger. The beauty of these juices is that it is all natural. No sugar or water added and that's why they tend to be a little bit pricey. A small size will cost you around 7 dollars. Not to long ago i tried the mango Mochi and it was so delicious! Customer Service Level: Pro So I'm at Whole Foods in Clark NJ today when I'm in the dairy department on the phone having an absurd freaking conversation about what cheese I have to buy for dinner when this hella-tall dude (in all fairness I'm 5'2" so most people are hella-tall) in a black beanie with a beard who obviously worked there wanted to help me with, well cheese, and was standing near me overhearing. The conversation shifted to some chocolate thing he wanted near the nut butter. Have you ever repeated what someone is saying on the phone because you have no idea WTF they were talking about? Yea, that was me! This dude gestures to me to follow him with the finger. He took me to the right product in the right aisle by an obscure description of what it was. So dropped in last week as I wanted some hot food and like their ground coffee. Picked up some Cheddar Sticks and a few days later, find MOLD on one of them. The expiration date is 4 months away and I from the time I picked it to the time it was in my fridge was 15 maybe 20 minutes tops. Who knows how long it was left to rot in some warm corner. I have serious doubts now about even partaking in their hot food bar, who knows how long it's been there or re-used. This was late at night and wanted a snack and dark and almost bit into this stick! This was also the second stick I had eaten, who knows what the quality of the first was. This is a place that tries to squeeze every penny at the expense of basic quality control and basic shopper courtesy (you can go there at any time like right before closing and you'll probably have to wait on line because they never have enough cashiers). Sick of returning or thinking about returning rotten or not fresh items (at least a dozen times). In the past, I have simply browsed through various Whole Foods stores without buying anything. But now, this is the first time that I've actually patronized a Whole Foods Market. Considering the local location, we stopped by to check this place out. This is the anchor of the Clark Commons Shopping Center. When we walked in from the left side, we saw their huge produce area. They even had a spot for those who wanted to grind peanuts for their own peanut butter. We also saw someone push a cart filled with corn while yelling out "Sale on fresh corn!". The spot for prepared smoothies and specialty coffee drinks were available on the right. The seafood, dairy, packaged coffee, and poultry areas were located in the back. Ice cream (dairy and non-dairy) was located in a separate aisle. The bakery and major prepared food areas were located on the right side of the store. Of course, everywhere in between were the aisles of general grocery (soda, macaroni, chips, etc.). The prepared food area served bakery items, sandwiches, pizza slices and more. They also had an area for salads and soups. For those who wanted to stay and enjoy their foods, there was a seating area towards the front of the store. For those who wanted to drink beer and dine on a limited selection of pub food, a bar was attached as well. A menu for the bar was posted outside, but the types of beers on tap had to be inquired inside. During our time here, we were able to sample some chocolate dairy-free ice cream. That tasted great, and I couldn't even taste the difference between that and the regular chocolate ice cream. I wonder if that was made with almond milk, soy milk, or whatever. We also bought some veggies (particularly green peppers) since they looked great and were being sold at a discount. Well, the prices on pretty much everything else was quite high. Considering that they used organic and premium ingredients, it was understandable that prices on the merchandise would be higher than other supermarkets. But I didn't feel the need for splurging on such merchandise at that time. Maybe someday I will, but who knows. But what really shocked me was the fact that they sold Virgil's Root Beer at a higher price. Really?! I've seen that at Trader Joe's for a lower price (their regular price), and at King's for 2 for $5 when they put that on sale! So why should I buy that here?! The store is clean, the shelves are organized, and customer service was great. Overall, this is a nice store. We'll probably come back again to buy more vegetables, but I can't say the same for everything else. Maybe I'll try one of their specialty coffee drinks later on, but I don't know. We will definitely patronize the bar soon, since it looks really cool and would give myself the chance to drink some local brews. read more

I was happy to know a new WF was opening so close to me, got here early for the bread cutting ceremony and they gave free healthy breakfast, shopping bags, coupons and all around very friendly staff! I walked through the whole store, they have great brands and choices but my whole enthusiasm went out the door when I learned the following: 1. They don't have a dessert bar!!!! Which means no yummy warm bread pudding! This is a staple through out all WF. :( such a big minus 2. They don't carry silk almond milk. All of their almond milk contains carrageen :/ this is very unfortunate because all I drink is almond milk. For those who don't know carrageenan is a bad ingredient in most almond milks to make them thicker but it has been proven to cause cancer though there's contradictions about the facts I still prefer to not consume it. 3. The cheese area is very small. I am a cheese addict. They do carry different cheese but it's small compare to other WF The good side of this location is the big plaza, the restaurant bar they have! You get a nice beer during lunch for only $6! Though they don't have a dessert bar they have a big variety of birthday cakes. You must try a drink from their full Matcha menu. I tried the matcha lemonade and it was refreshing and tasty. You have to be a judge yourself and stop by. Prices are very similar to other WF. read more

I'm mystified. Why is it that every time I visit this Whole Foods, I spend an inordinate amount of time at the cashier's line? Most recently, I dropped by to pick up a quick dinner between work and an evening meeting. I got a hot platter from a decidedly unfriendly employee at the fresh foods area, then waited at least five minutes at an express cashier line with four people in front of me. (The wait was actually a bit longer ... I just know it was at least five because three or four minutes in, I started the stopwatch on my phone... when I finally sat down to eat in the cafe area, it was at five minutes, 40 seconds.) The line grew behind me to include at least four or five more customers. Two other checkout lines were open. When I entered the store, I'd had to weave through the lines for those checkouts, which extended into the grocery aisles. I get that the vibe of the place is supposed to be friendly, but there are ways to be friendly and efficient at the same time. How is it that the management doesn't keep an eye on the length of the checkout lines, and get more lanes open? Other grocery stores can figure out how to do this. Cross-train the other staff so they can pitch in and get the line sizes down when there are more than three people waiting. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard Whole Foods. Just know that when you go there, you need to plan an extra 10-12 minutes to check out. read more

I called today for a specific item and Keisha happened to answer the phone, after having someone go check she told me they had that specific item so I drove down there but turned out they did not have it, I'm sure it was a simple miscommunication. I told them not to worry about it and went ahead to pick up a load of bread, on my way out Keisha stopped me and handed me a gift card for my inconvenience. I haven't had much luck with Whole Foods Market. They sell cookies by the pound. They look good, but taste terrible. Same thing with the salads. The salads are very colorful but I would never eat their salads again. Oh, and I went to their Allegro coffee bar. Love Whole Foods for its large scale selection of a what is normally a smaller boutique market (like Dean's). Yes, you are not going to get everything here and generally speaking it is more expensive that in other places. Besides the quality of the products I believe you are paying also for a different kind of company to exist that treats people better than most others -- at least in the space they operate in. However, being thrilled at seeing Bulletproof coffee here as a coffee shop item was paired with someone trying to talk away from people purchasing it (and pushing ahead anyway and tasting the result made for questions as to whether they even knew how to prepare it correctly). Normally I would write this off to failed training on a new product offering but given some of the comments from others (in general) I am not wondering if this will ever be addressed. read more

This is the worst Whole Foods I e ever been in. I purchased a bag of onions. Within 2 days I smelled rotting onions. 3 of 6 were all wet and leaking. Had to throw out the whole bag. Also bought a precut, plastic container of cantaloupe. Opened it today, 2 days later .... hard as a rock and totally not ripe. Again, in the garbage. Bought some loose cookies, also, not so great or fresh. I'm glad I took the ride. Let's hope the new one on Chimney Rock Rd in Bridgewater will live up to their reputation.
