Came in to pick up two trays that were catered From seafood department and received an email that the order would be ready between 12 and 1230 The woman that checked people in was extremely rude and nasty That was at 1225 I waited along with many other irate customers for more than 20 minutes for my order then one person came up and put it there and left so I had to wait for someone else to comeback another few minutes later I get it is the holidays , however to be treated horribly by a rude person at checkin is unacceptable We always love coming to Whole Foods and normally the customer service is great Maybe understaffed The third person that gave me my order was nice But highly disappointed And the shrimp trays we picked up had two different size shrimps not what we ordered two sizes and the shrimp has water and I've still on it read more

This brand new Whole Foods Market is a very solid store featuring a gourmet burger bar with menu options like grass-fed and plant based patties plus they're serving up 8 craft beers on tap. Gotta tell You I might have to "Shop" here on a regular basis if You know what I mean ;D Anyway this is a pretty impressive store with over 40,235 square feet and LOADED with all kinds of goodness wherever You look. It's officially the first WFM in Passaic County and judging by the popularity and reception it's getting, it is definitely gonna be the first of many more to come. I've reviewing the seafood dept. and the Burger Bar. First up, the seafood department - don't go near it. I'm telling you through 45 years experience in the seafood market business, if it smells more like ammonia than fish, stay away, because they are not cleaning properly and/or the fish has overstayed it's welcome. In the Wayne, NJ Whole Foods, you can sometimes smell the fish market as soon as the sliding doors open - Disgusting. Second Up, the burger bar - Being a lover of burgers to the point of having my own burger blog with over 350 reviews, I can tell you that after first opening their doors, Whole Foods had a home run with their burgers. Their burger blend with fried onions and American cheese on a squishy potato bun (yes, I said: "POTATO BUN"), was phenomenal!!! I thought I had finally found my go-to burger place and it was right in my back yard!!! No such luck, no more than 2 weeks after opening, they changed the bun to an in-house brioche bun that is dry and too large for the burger, completely making the experience as bad as it is different from their original offering. So sad, how this could be fixed so easily. I mean, the burger they opened with was close to being Shake Shack good! And they ruined it with a trendy, dry, brioche bun. I even asked the kid at the burger counter to please get the potato buns back, but he said it wasn't happening, it was an upper management decision. Idiots. read more

The wait was worth it! If you haven't been to a Whole Foods before you may get sticker stock, but those who have been know the prices reflect the quality. I was impressed by the cleanliness and layout of the store. My husband and I have also gotten steaks on 3 separate occasions and cannot get over how fresh and high quality their meats are. We also love their soups! I can't wait until they can safely open their hot foods. I've enjoyed their food at other locations and know Wayne won't disappoint! read more

I'm coming from a distance so I wanted to spend some time selecting items, staff was helpful. The store looked okay, I think I would of liked some better featured displays. More selection in the fish market. Friendlier service. What I didn't understand was you have nearly 10 cashier stations but only 1 person was working it, the self service was a long line. Seriously? WF has really lost the high touch vibe it used to have when I remembered it. It wasn't until I asked the manager specifically to pull staff on some cashiers that it started to help me and others. My line was now having people on it. Why would I spend all my time in the self service with a larger cart to check out. I wanted a pleasant experience not more work for myself. I think it's not worth the time and honestly not very pleasant experience. By the time I got to the cashier people were impatient but thankfully someone was helping me bag or I don't know how it would of went. I will much rather go to trader joe's with a friendlier vibe. Definitely felt like a newer Whole Foods. The size feels like they shrunk a regular sized WF down to 75% but the inside is still very spacious. It has all the offerings: deli, burger counter, pizza, bakery along with the usual grocery offerings. My husband and I stopped by to pick up a birthday cake and we were happy with the pre-made selections in the case. This Whole Foods is the newest in the area, but I already like it way more than Paramus lol. It's so spacious and has everything I need. I checked it out for the cheese department and was just wowed by the cheese selections. I'm pretty sure all that I was looking for AND cheese I didn't know exist were there. So I'm up here in New Jersey for a few days, and I wanted to check out this market burger café here within the local Whole foods market in Wayne, NJ. Upon ordering the spicy burger, I inquired about ordering with a temperature, but I was told that the burgers are all cooked "well done". That not only disappointed me a tad, but it had me a bit puzzled as well, because the beef seemed high quality, from cows that were grass fed, and probably grazed in pastures where each cow had at least one achre of grazing space. This store has been disappointing on every visit. The burger/beer bar was closed by 7:00PM Hmm , what a great idea to go over and have a beer and burger on a summer evening. Oops. Closed. How about some soup? Three of the soup offerings were only burned sludge. Appetizing. Not. (Hint: if the soup container is empty or near empty, remove it) My wife asked the sushi counter if they had sashimi. Deer in the headlights. Didn't know of they had low sodium soy sauce (lack of training more important than regular or low sodium soy sauce). Come on managers. Let's get on board. No wonder the store was practically empty at 7:00 PM. Do I need to continue? The hot meal bar food looked tired. I opted for two slices of pizza. Marginal. We decided we won't go back. We like the Whole Foods on 6th Ave and the new one on Madison Ave. The one on 7th Ave is great. They have sashimi. My wife calls it a "happy place." Such a cool place to grab a burger and a pint because of the amazing happy hour from 4-7pm daily, but the last how many times we went, they either ran out of food before 7pm or the person making the burgers was unavailable. I have to give credit to the Whole Foods help the other day. All the things I recommended in my prior review they addressed - they taped up the takeout dinner, they put the price label at the bottom. However, my plate again collapsed at the register. This time the girl working the self checkout helped clean up the mess from my collapsed plate. There is clearly something wrong with the packaging. Monica is probably the one I dread most. Solely bc she will go out of her way just to make your trip inconvenient. She's never there with anything less than an attitude when you need her to help but god forbid you make a mistake she will breathe down your neck to watch you stop your whole order and then ring it up correctly and completely ignore fixing the original problem with the machine lol god forbid you mess up 30 cents on the order.... She won't fix the problem with the scanner but she will make sure to correct you on that 30 cents lol forgive my mistake for accidently choosing my produce was in a bag and it wasn't lol each time she just seems hell bent on micromanaging how your trip goes. And if it's negatively she behaves and speaks almost like she gets something out of it when she goes home at the end of the day. Also, don't bother saying have a nice day/night holiday, bc she'll just scowl at you and not say a word until you finally leave.......... If you're gonna go out of the way ti stop my order cancel it fix the 30 cent problem how about fix the problem with the machine that occurs every single time. In a rush and I couldn't believe she came over stopped me from what i was doing over that I thought for a second she was there to fix the machine error lol I was wrong. And it's not just one instance. She's just rude all around. Store has some advantages, produce is fresh, look for expir. dates on packaged salad. Meat is NOT top quality, disappointed in many items I've purchased, i.e. pork and lamb chops veal for stew, etc. all have been tasteless and tough. Likewise the fish, not as fresh as it should be. Quality of these items much better in the Montclair store. The prepared foods are just so-so, pizza barely warmed. Bakery is well stocked with a variety of bread and pastries, top quality.
