This used to be a private practice, but that doctor sold the practice almost 10 years ago and retired. The new ownership is iffy. The clinic appears not to have been updated in a while (like ever) and the staff seems to revolve on a regular basis - though some are very good. The bigger issue is the owning company: their rates are high, they want prepayments, and they want to sell you "wellness subscriptions." I used to love these folks but in 2025 I think there are better options. We moved the last kitty they were caring for to the Cat Doctors - they specialize in felines, and for us a better option. read more

Wouldn't even give me a ball park estimate for a specific procedure on my cat, just wanted the 80 bucks to walk through the door first. Dr. Frye, who is now retired, was an excellent and caring vet. These people only care about the cash. They didn't even recommend first aid I should perform until my cat could be seen by a vet. I won't be going there in the future. read more

Jen at the front desk is a sweetheart, great personality and is so efficient! Clark Veterinary Hospital is WONDERFUL. Quite frankly, animal care for three dogs is incredibly difficult to manage in this economy. Whenever we've explained our situation to the staff, they've been absolutely amazing - helping us plan with accurate estimates, managing reminders, and most importantly, with no judgement at all. With their help, we're able to take care of our pets in the most efficient and financially feasible way. Additionally, they're one of the most affordable veterinary facilities in the area. Win-win! I just took my dog to Clark for the first time since we moved to the area. I was hesitant at first because I had gotten used to the vet we used to go. My dog Koa was welcomed straight away and treated like a princess! Everyone on staff was so kind and excited to meet her. Koa was very nervous so they gave her a fun squeaky toy to play with and many treats! The veterinary technicians were wonderful, and made Koa feel very comfortable. Dr. Orzech was thorough and patient with Koa, she really took the time to make sure everything was taken care of. Booking with Clark was also super easy and quick since they have the option to use online booking. They even sent me text messages to confirm and follow up! I highly recommend a visit! read more

The new vet's that took over are all about money, lied about my dog having tumors on her adrenal gland and a over enlarged spleen, on top of everything they wanted to keep messing around with her UTI which spread to her kidneys causing that Infection. If you love your animals Don't go there DR. Fry who retired was awesome. I was lucky enough to find a vet who worked with my old vet and does not do highway robbery. These new vets put me through hell financially, mentally and did the same to my dog. I recommend Tower Hill Animal Hospital Auburn NH. Dr. Tucker. I've been searching for a Vet in the area for a while now (since moving back into town). My brother goes here so I thought I'd try it out. Dr. Frye was great with my pups! He got right down to their level & let them check him out before putting them on the table for their shots. I came as a new patient with 2 file folders filled with paperwork that I couldn't decipher as far as the shots they had & needed. The staff were patient & looked through the paperwork to get my dogs on track with the paperwork they were given. Loved my experience & I'll be back! The prices were average with other vets in the area. Dogs are expensive- that's just how it is. read more

Was there last week for my dog's ear infection - unfortunately their microscope wasn't working. They didn't think she had an ear infection but sold me cleanser for her ears for $33.00 - the same ear cleanser is sold at Walmart for $9.93. I was charged $75 for the visit, though nothing was done. Total $108 of wasted money and time. I have since had my animal looked at somewhere else; she does have an ear infection and is now being treated appropriately. I would not recommend taking your animal to Clark's. If I could give a minus star, I would. read more

Clark Veterinary Hospital is awesome. The entire staff is friendly, warm and genuinely cares for all animals...and their owners. I have taken my dog Kali here several times and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. They are patient and caring and take extra time to explain in detail anything and everything that may be going on with your pet. This place was great when Dr. Frye was there. If you look at the 10 oldest reviews the average rating was 4.9 and most of them mentioned Dr. Frye. Discount those reviews when evaluating the current state of Clark Veterinary Hospital - it went downhill quickly once he retired. In the 10 reviews posted since Dr. Frye left, the REAL rating for the current ownership is only 2.7. Clark Veterinary Hospital IS NOT a locally owned vet anymore - it is owned by Pathway Partners out of Texas, which operates over 150 vets in the U.S. The doctors seem more concerned about what they can sell you than the welfare of your pet. I have stayed there because my dog is very old and I didn't want to go through the hassle of switching. The last straw was today...a medication for a chronic condition my dog has was around $2/$2.25 per pill in the past ($200-$225 for 100 tablets). The past two times we tried to refill the vet tried to charge us over $3 per pill ($300 for 100 tablets), but when we protested the 50% price increase they adjusted it. Today when I picked up a short supply (14 days) they charged $63 - $4.50 per pill! I was astounded and called back to confirm the price was correct. I was assured that it was and told the medication had gone up significantly in price. I was dubious about Clark's explanation, so I checked prices with several other vets and online pharmacies. The cost online was between $1.70 and $2.00 per pill ($170-$200 for 100 tablets). The cost at 5 other area vets was between $2.20 and $2.50 per pill ($200-$250 for 100 tablets). Same medication, same dosage, less than half the price. Save yourself a headache and some money and avoid this profiteering business. read more

They are my favorite vet hospital. My dachshund mix has horrible allergy skin and I've been bringing him to Clarks for a couple years now, even after I moved to MA. They have been the most helpful out of all the other places I've taken him and the vet techs are always great handling him even though he can be a little feisty. I am a dog groomer and send my skin problem clients out of the area to them. read more

So being a fair person I decided to put aside my previous beef and stay with the Vet. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! So here is the reason I say this....Last night I was up at midnight with my dog that was in pain. After observing her for some time and her insisting to go potty but not being able to. I looked up the information she was giving me and I believe she has an UTI. So, I waited until 9am the next day Thursday (a work day). I explained to the gal that anserwed the phone who my pet was and explained the pain she is in and what I believe the problem to be. She then tells me THERE IS NO DOCOR THERE TODAY!!! REALLY!! This is the only vet my dog knows, I have gone here from the beginning 5 mos. Understand this is a normal business day at 9 am. And NO DOCTOR!?? What if it was a dire emergency?? Well needless to say I asked for my pet's files so I can take her to a real Vet that actually has a Doctor there. I am writing this to warn people behind me as I wish someone warned me. This is my first yelp review, it is my experience last week that made me want to write. I agree that the staff and office seemed wonderful when Dr. Frye was in charge. I recently went back with a new puppy, and will never go again. Not only was the front desk staff cold, the tech that brought us in was equally rude. While the vet in that day seemed competent, he offered the bare minimum of friendliness.Upon check out, the staff ignored me and finally 15 minutes later gave me the bill to pay. While I was waiting, they talked to each other about another staff member. My husband and I were so bothered that it was all we talked about on our drive home. I really hope to find a better veterinarian soon. read more

A no nonsense veterinary care clinic is a more accurate way to describe this hospital. The rooms are small and efficient. The staff is just that, efficient. If you have questions you must take them with you, if you don't ask, they wont tell. I feel like I have to pry information form the "nurses" but the doctor always wins me over. His approach to dog care is non judgemental. He is fast to tell you what to expect; "yes she will go blind, no there really isn't much you can do..." and he is very compassionate. No unnecessary tests, no poking or proding. A check up is a check up and not an exploration for what could go wrong in the future. In an ideal world his assistants would be more personable and his hours longer but for basic care, you just have to love this place. It's like a small town clinic in the big city. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs basic care for their pet. Think of them as your basic "family practitioner' or your pet's "primary care physician". read more

One of the ladies in the front is so rude. She seemed annoyed with us the second we walked in. We forgot our new puppy's paperwork but I had offered to have the rescue fax it or have my husband go get it and we would have within a half hour. I assured her the puppy didn't need shots today. We were the only ones there except for one that had checked in prior to us but were outside and came in during this conversation. she said no they were too busy and we would have to reschedule. I had a couple health concerns and asked if she could be seen anyway for the exam which was supposed to be free. She was giving us a hard time and told us we would need to pay for another exam to get shots and insisting she needed one today. She was insisting she New the age of our puppy and she would need shots today. Seriously we were there for 10 min so they would have been done seeing us in 20 min and would be so busy they couldn't wait a minute to see her paperwork? They were not even ready to see us. She was so rude we scheduled elsewhere. read more
