We purchased our pup from Just Pups in East Hanover, NJ (the day after Christmas). The same day we…read morepicked the dog up we brought him to our veteniarian. The dog had flees as well as Kennel Cough. We treated the dog with the appropriate medication. You would think they would take better care of the dogs with the money we are spending to purchase there. Our vet provided us with a certificate saying that the puppy we purchased was not fit for sale. Basically, there is a Lemon Law that protects the consumer. Similar to the car Lemon Law where you can demand that your vet bills are covered IF you report it to the store with 14 business days (not sure that is the exact amount of days) from purchase of the pet. Which we did. We also contactact the board of health to let them know the condition of our puppy who had just been purchased. We love our puppy and would not bring him back under the Lemon Law to get a full refund but the pet store is liable for all medical expenses incurred from buying a sick and flee infested puppy. The people in the store do seem to care about the animals and I believe it is more about the people who own the store(s) and their greed for profit instead of taking care of the dogs appropriately. I would recommend that anyone who is thinkng about purchasing a dog at one of these store that you must do your research and make sure the puppy is healthy. They will tell you that you have to bring the puppy to one of their vets but this is completely inaccurate if you take the pup to your vet of your choice within 14 days of purchase (under the Lemon Law). The store said a vet sees all the dogs at the store, however, I really question if this is true because why would they have not treated the flees or the Kennel Cough? Shame on you Just Pups Owner(s).

We inevitably gave our sweet golden to a friend, when we could no longer afford her exorbitant vet bills, because she is a vet and can treat her, and she has since become their best friend. Please please PLEASE head this warning and do your research. These are puppy mill puppies, that they sell for thousands of dollars. Kristen worked her magic and while I hated the fact that Skylar had to be trimmed shorter so she will grow in evenly, she looks so so so much better! I couldn't find a parking spot around this area so I went down a street that turned out to be the back property of the Northern Valley Feed. There was a man who began to curse and yell at me to get out of this area because it was private property. I apologized and told him that I would get out. But there was so zero space for me to take a U-turn and I saw that there was a larger area for me to turn the car upfront, so I told him I would drive a little further and turn my car around. He then screamed that it was private property and I would have to figure out a way to get out from where I was. It took me at least 20 minutes to slowly back my way out of this small street. Although, I was not a customer I could definitely see what service that these employees provide. I'm disappointed that I couldn't give this place anything lower than one star. I would advice everyone to avoid this place at all costs.
