The only downside to this spot is that the rooms are not separated by ceiling to floor walls so you can hear the massages happening next to you, customers coming in, and when the boba shop next door's blender. It does take away from the experience a bit, but I do feel that the massage is still very worth it. Unless you plan on paying in cash and walking out the same day, I wouldn't risk spending a single dollar here. Do NOT buy gift vouchers they will not be accepted, and you'll be out of money with no accountability from this place. To make it worse, there's a sign posted inside saying there's a mandatory tip of $10-$15. Avoid this business until they take responsibility for customer trust and basic integrity.

The woman helping me unfortunately did not speak very good English and when I asked about paying by credit card instead, there was some difficulty communicating. I mainly wanted to confirm whether there was an additional credit card fee, but I was eventually told the total would be $80 via Zelle or $85 by credit card. I've never been to a spa where payment was required before the actual service, so that felt a bit unusual to me. The massage itself started from the neck down. While a thin cloth was mainly used to cover my feet when she worked on that area, there were times when she touched my foot with her hands and then immediately moved to my face after I flipped over without washing her hands. This was a bit of a turnoff, especially since there was a sink right in the room. As for the massage, it was decent but nothing to rave about. It felt pretty on par with other Asian massage places I've been to, though Luna charges a bit more. For that reason, I'd probably visit another place next time.

Here I thought the masseuse was trying to feel around for problem areas. Instead I started feeling a bit unwell with how the rest of this was going. As the massage actually took place, there was very little focus to any areas at all during the first 15min. The masseuse brought in the semi wet towel (not warm or hot) to clean off the lotion off my body and calves. She asked if I wanted to turn over and I stated that I preferred to have more work done on my neck and shoulder blades. Again, I was met with very soft hands. Maybe at around the 25min mark she finally started working the areas she noticed were tight, but for a very short period. Those areas I requested, along with the rest of my body, feel underworked. As I'm dressed and ready to leave, the masseuse asks for a tip. Most spas offer lymphatic drainage with a facial, but I didn't want that. I just wanted the massage. I found Agave through Yelp and I am so glad I did. This place is located on a quiet street in uptown Whittier. There's free parking in front on the street or a free parking structure directly across. The place is small on the outside but seems bigger on the inside. It's super clean and gives off a relaxing vibe. The massage room has a wall of battery operated candles that give off that ambient lighting and the soothing music is the cherry on top. Liz is so sweet. Talking to her feels like talking to an old friend. She's knowledgeable and good at what she does. The first session I did, I just got the facial massage, but during my session she learned I was post op and suggested the chin contour treatment which comes with red light therapy to promote healing and another machine that uses heat to help tighten the skin. The massage feels like a good type of pain. I know she's working her magic and I leave Agave with my jawline snatched. I love how she suggests things I can do while at home, in between sessions. And she makes sure I'm doing my part to help myself heal. I can't wait to be fully healed and try the other treatments they offer. The prices are super reasonable which is why I'll for sure be back and be referring anyone and everyone.
