Linda was able to come out asap and she very much helped me! We realized he did better on a nipple shield and have been using one the last two weeks. He's been getting stronger and able to breast feed no problem. During our first session, she was able to confirm that my insurance would cover a postpartum Doula. So I get 11 sessions through Kaiser, which has been wonderful! So Linda comes to my house once or twice a week to help me in my recovery and breast-feeding journey. It has been really nice to have the support and the help. She's really been great! We will be working on getting him off the nipple sheilds, hopefully in the next few weeks. But having the help at home has really been great as well as the lactation support. I would definitely recommend calling her and seeing if you were insurance will cover visits from her. I…read morefeel so grateful that I had the ability to have a home birth because it was a life changing and transformative experience, and that was in no small part due to who Jessie is and how she works. Contrasting from OB care where every appointment is hurried and routine, Jessie invests in you as a person. Appointments are up to one hour and explore all aspects of health: physical, emotional, mental, etc. Jessie has a magical way about her in the way she advises you and listens that's non-judgmental but supportive. I felt so empowered and supported through it all. During the birth, I'll never forget when Jessie looked me in the eye as I neared the end and told me the only way out was through and I took a big breath and powered through. We did a home, water birth and it was the most special experience. I hope more and more women are able to navigate pregnancy and birth with Jessie or midwives like her. And overall I left this experience wiser about my own body and health, prepared to care for our baby, more confident and more.

We had a few scares during our pregnancy that of course had to happen later at night and she was quick to answer and respond in a calm but urgent way. The same has been true postpartum. She ALWAYS has you & your babies health and best interests in mind when discussing options and care. She is informative and relays the perfect mix of holistic/ evidence based medicine and western medicine if needed. Once you have a conversation with her you'll understand why she is the best. She made an appointment with me as soon as possible and brought her scale. My baby was very fussy and Christina helped me to understand that sometimes it's not soothing techniques and maybe it's an underlying issue that's going on that was causing the fussiness. Furthermore she helped me understand how lactation works and has helped me gained more control over my milk supply. While I appreciate how friendly and thorough Leora was at my consult, the recommendation she gave…read moreme for flange size for pumping was completely wrong and caused me a few days of terrible pain. I had been exclusively pumping, pretty comfortably after a lot of trial and error on my own, with 24mm flanges. However, my output was diminishing and I saw so many different approaches to flange sizing online that I decided to see a professional to get sized. I was shocked when Leora said I was a 14/15mm instead of 24mm given the vast discrepancy, but after trying the smaller size out in her office on my pump, the output did improve, and the comfort level seemed fine. I was initially very excited and bought the new smaller flanges from her. When I went home, I did 2 more pumps with the smaller flanges, but noticed that my nipples were starting to go numb at the end of each pump and throb in the hours after, even when I adjusted suction to the minimum. I thought maybe this was just part of the transition process and was initially planning to try the new flanges for a full day, but the pain kept getting worse so after 3 sessions with the smaller ones, I switched back to the 24s. I noticed new dark spots on my nipple tips that looked like bruises. The next day and a half of pumps even with the 24s were miserable as my nipples were constantly throbbing and sore from having been injured. Finally about 36 hours later, they started to feel better. Thank goodness I stopped before the damage got worse. I'm very disappointed by this experience because Leora came highly recommended by a friend, and has so many excellent reviews. I understand flange sizing is a bit of art and thought I could trust a professional with so much experience, but unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case.
