Josh our man behind the bar. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Was happy to take the time to explain it all. He was quite the showman while preparing the drink and the gals loved it. We came into town on a train beer crawl with two other couples and thought this would be a nice break from the brew. It was a bit after lunch and the place was not crowded. I got a Pennsylvania sour, a rye drink. Served with three layers of liquor with different specific gravities. So the drink was layered. I enjoyed it a very unique flavor as I drank through the glass. The place is right off the street and narrow but with couches and high top tables and booths. There are also a couple of seats at the small bar. Widow's peak makes their own gin, vodka and rye and you can but these by the bottle but the real charm of this place is the cocktails they serve made with these liquors. The store front is small and the inside is maybe 10-15 feet wide and 100 feet long with several chairs, bankets and even comfy chairs to sit in. It reminded me of a sitting room set up by a cool if slightly potty uncle. My wife and I took a seat and we were given not only glasses of water but also a small bottle to refill our glasses from. The drinks we had were nice and we enjoyed noting the flavors of the different elements. I was these on a hot Saturday afternoon and the cool darkness was very comforting but it might be a bit close on a busy Saturday night. The other issue I had was that the prices of the cocktails was not listed on the menu whichh made me leery of ordering "What am i getting into here?" They were about $14-15 a drink but it would have been nice to know before hand. Overall this was a very nice experience and while this might be a little hard to find on a street full of places serving food and drink, it's well worth the search. read more

Made a reservation on a Saturday night for some drinks, place half empty. Tried to order an appetizer, were told "things were too crazy to serve food". After 45 minutes of waiting for the drinks we ordered, they never arrived at the table, so we left. I am sure the drinks are good, but you have to actually serve them for someone to write a positive review. read more

I'm obsessed with this spot. Definitely small, but the vibes are vibing and the cocktails are delicious. We came early evening on a Saturday and got a table without a reservation, but they are on OpenTable. Perfect for a small group or date night. Service was incredible. A charming addition to Ambler. Their house-made spirits are wonderful which makes their cocktails really good. They have a very nice walled-in patio in the back which has a very hip, urban feel. read more

My husband and I stopped here before dinner - not a lot to say, we only had cocktails, but we loved the vibe, loved the staff (and their patience as we described what we like and don't like in a cocktail), and loved just hanging out and having a few drinks before dinner. read more

Walking into Widows Peak, you get the feeling you're not in Ambler anymore. It's a small space but is so beautifully designed. You're surrounded by rich jewel tones and beautiful artwork. It's a small cozy space (definitely recommend hopping on open table to make a reservation). The service is knowledgable and attentive. Their spirits are well crafted (the server will happily allow you to sample). Their cocktails are simply beautiful, served in vintage looking art glass. The bees knees and the fresh cocktail were so well made. My husband enjoyed the rye, neat. They offer small snack menu, but I heard they may expand that and offer some food from Sorrentino's (another great spot in Ambler). Definitely recommend for some pre-dinner drinks. read more

Great drinks, great atmosphere, great people! TL;DR: helpful and welcoming staff; high class atmosphere; delicious, impressive, and fairly priced drinks. I called to make a reservation for a large party, which wound up dwindling to a small one, and Josh was great helping me with this. When I had to leave a voicemail he made sure to get a hold of me to confirm my reservation. When we arrived, we were impressed by the decor and seating options. Since our party was now small and we arrived in early afternoon, we were able to choose between a high top and comfy chairs. We opted for the big chairs, and had our own small table with mixed nuts, fresh water, and a candle. The service was great, attending but not overbearing. We never felt rushed, and very much enjoyed the Savory Riff and Espresso Martini. We were offered a taste of whiskey, gin, or vodka. After tasting the whiskey I enjoyed how smooth and flavorful it was, and knew I had to get a whiskey cocktail. The drinks were fairly priced, and the establishment was kept extremely clean and organized. Can't wait to come back! read more
