Had a really nice dinner last week and the service was great on a Thursday night. We had a variety of apps ( burata, Brussels, breads, Caesar salad, watermelon salad), meals (tuna, flatbread, salmon, burgers, wagyu) and drinks .. we all enjoyed! The warm banana blondie dessert was sooooo good, definitely a must try for banana bread lovers! Bottom line up front: Blue Bell Inn is sadly a mixed bag. Drinks are strong and well made (A-) , service is attentive (A-), but the happy hour bar food is uneven and often mediocre (C-). Overall, the HH experience could be (and should be, considering how much business they rake in!) so much better. My GF and I occasionally meet up here at the bar for happy hour, most recently on a weekday afternoon in March 2026. We ordered several apps: -- The dozen PEI oysters were poorly shucked and contained bits of shell. They were very small and, as a result, barely contained any oystery taste. Also, the oysters are opened in advance, and not to order, which I think dries them out and compromises their quality. I won't buy them anymore -- what a shame! -- The fillet mignon "duo", which we ordered medium-rare, was overcooked. The meat wasn't tender, either. We had a wonderful dinner at The Blue Be Inn for our anniversary. I had been there for lunch, but never dinner, and had no idea they had a large, quiet dining area upstairs. We had cocktails and wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert and everything was excellent. The food feels modern without being overly fussy, but they still have some more traditional options (think meat and potatoes) as well. The service we had was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing, food came out quickly but we didn't feel rushed. Water glasses were filled regularly and we didn't feel like we ever had to search for someone if we needed something. We will definitely be back! We came here for our 29th wedding anniversary dinner. Our drinks were strong, so we started off right! I started with the stuffed artichoke, which was ok. Nothing to write home about. Stuffing was good. Artichoke didn't have much flavor. It needed some kind of seasoning or something. My husband had the sausage special even thought he's not a huge fan of chicken sausage (one of the offerings in the special). He loved it! He said they were delicious. He had the New York Strip steak which was done to perfection! He loved the topping and the mashed potatoes and green beans. He doesn't normally say much about his food, but he was raving about everything. I had the duck. I was a little disappointed. The sauce was orange and looked delicious but had not flavor. The duck was NOT crispy at all. The best part was the vegetables. They were amazing! Our waiter and all the staff were very attentive. I never felt neglected. The only thing he did forget was to tell us the dinner specials. He gave us the appetizer specials, but I heard another waitress giving dinner specials. Not sure it would have made any difference. The atmosphere is nice and it felt romantic sitting in a corner booth. They even came out with a beautiful bowl of ice cream for our anniversary! Food is generally great here but just had a birthday dinner there. One of the most expensive entrees....Ribeye. I was shocked for such a great restaurant at what was served. The place is gorgeous, bar area is simply beautiful. Valet service on point, very polite and respectful. Our waiter that night on point along with people taking our plates away. On that end excellent place to go. My meal though, not great. I had the fillet and it was not a great cut I feel, just didn't taste right. They need to stay away from whipped potatoes also, runny is the key word. As for the brandy sauce, had I known I would have opted to not have it. Overall did not enjoy my meal. Haven't been to the BBI since pre-Covid, and we were treated like royalty by Les and the staff tonight. My friend and I sat in the Oak Room (My favorite room) for my birthday dinner. Once again, I enjoyed the Seafood Wedge salad - so perfectly crisp and fresh and chock full or tender shrimp and large lumps of sweet crabmeat. Love it. The I had the twin 3 oz filet mignon (app) which made a petite meal for me. My friend got the salmon and it looked scrumptious. Dessert were poached pears over a crumble, served warm with rich and tasty vanilla ice cream and a sweet caramel sauce. Even indulged in a latte. A 5 star service and culinary experience. The food is okay - it's solid but a bit on the greasy side and the kitchen seemed a bit understaffed as it took a while to get our dishes and there were a few mistakes. That aside, the seating is pretty comfortable and it's close and convenient. 3 stars for the food, 4 for the ambiance, and 3 for the service. My wife and I came for Sunday brunch. We made a reservation for 10:00 when they opened. We were seated immediately. The interior in the bar area was very nice with a warm and welcoming vibe. There were large open doors that led to a beautiful outdoor area and was perfect for the comfortable weather that morning. The main bar area is very dark lighting and made it a bit hard to see/ challenging for my eyes to focus. Otherwise it's a nice atmosphere. They provide fresh warm bread to the table which pairs went with burrata salad. The burrata comes with watermelon which was a great flavor pairing I've never had before. Highly recommend. The Caesar salad was delish. I'm a fan of Caesar dressings that have a hit of anchovy flavor and this one was a perfect balance. The burger and fries were good but nothing exceptional. The waitstaff and people at the hostess station were really nice, as always. Food? We were served combination of cold flatbread and bad overpriced steaks with cold mashies on the side. Brought the family here to celebrate my son's birthday. It was the end of a long day and the kids were about to fall asleep but hands down all agree, dinner was great. We started with appetizers of cheesesteak dumplings, chicken bites, crab cakes, short rib tacos and veggie flatbread. We could have stopped there, all were delicious. My daughter loved the skirt steak, I loved the Maryland crab soup, beet salad and seafood pasta which was full of lump crab and prawns. Had the wasabi crusted ahi tuna, think they forgot the wasabi all together, lacked flavor was cut way too thick was chewy and unappetizing. I've reviewed this place before, and it was great then. Still great now. Great ambiance, wonderful service (usually), and delicious food. They have some great cocktails, too. Wonderful brunch, and an excellent raw bar. Parking is definitely a bit of a trick, mainly because they reserve so many spaces for valet. Honestly not that big a deal though.
