Love this place! Everything you could possibly want for your birds! I am getting so many birds now it's amazing!

A cardinal stopped by today! I tied my phone to the tree and put it live on Instagram to see what kinds of birds live around my home.

I have seen this store when I'm driving by Bee Cave Rd but finally decided to stop by last month. The ladies at the counter were very helpful and knowledgeable about the different bird feeders in stock and the bird food. I ended up getting 3 bird feeders (lifetime warranty) and two bags of seeds. I signed up for the loyalty program because it is GREAT and I really recommend doing so if you will continuously feed birds in your yard and want to save money. I got a free bird feeding tube for signing up that fits one of the bird feeders. All 3 bird feeders have been very popular and it's about that time for me to stop by and buy more bird food. It's so nice being outside and looking over at the bird feeder and seeing a variety of birds and the occasional chubby squirrel.

I finally got a good shot of all 20 spots taken! This is every single day!

The blood was all over his ear/the side of his head and I couldn't tell where it was coming from or how bad it was. But I did see a very prominent but small cut on his ear I couldn't get to stop bleeding. The cashier/rep, Diana, was AMAZING. both at keeping me calm and figuring out how to stop Charlie's bleeding. She was incredibly knowledgeable about what would help as well as what could've caused it, and is very good about working with very skittish dogs who are not necessarily sure about people (my boy is a rescue and was already confused, but would work for cookies and scratches ) He is currently bathed and lounging on the bed. It was thankfully that one ear and one small one on the other side. No more blood. I can't thank her enough. would absolutely come back here and she deserves a raise!

I recently took my Great Pyrenees, Peace, to the Petco on Bee Cave Road for grooming, and it was a…read morefrustrating experience from start to finish. The groomer, Shawna, greeted us with a negative attitude and immediately took an accusatory tone about Peace's mats. Instead of being helpful, she made it sound like Peace's mats were some huge problem that she couldn't handle without drastic measures. I accepted that she might need to shave some areas and asked how long it would take. She said two to four hours, and I agreed. An hour later, I got a call saying they couldn't continue at all due to a corporate policy about mats behind the ears. I found it baffling that they wouldn't just complete other parts of the service--like de-shedding or trimming the nails--if there was one area they couldn't handle right then. To make matters even stranger, when I picked Peace up, I saw they had already done part of the service by removing mats on her backside. Shawna even showed me the fur she'd removed. Yet when I asked if they could at least trim Peace's nails so I wouldn't have to worry about her comfort, Shawna refused. She claimed she couldn't do the nails without charging me again on another day, even though I'd already paid for a package that included nail trimming. It was completely illogical: they had started some parts of the grooming, but she insisted I had to come back on another day and be charged again if I wanted the nails done. When I questioned this, she just sighed impatiently and basically made it clear she didn't care. There was no apology, no attempt to find a reasonable solution--just rude, unhelpful behavior. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.

I had never been to a Tomlinson's before--honestly, I had never even heard of it since they don't have any in California. I learned during my visit that there are 18 locations in Austin, and WOW, what an amazing store! The customer service here is on another level--it honestly felt like the hospitality of a high-end hotel. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, even opening the door for customers. They truly go out of their way to help, and I'm not exaggerating! I believe the employee who assisted me was Vanessa, and she was fantastic. She helped me pick out the perfect gifts, especially for the cat-related items since I don't have a cat myself. I was shopping for an 8-year-old who has two cats, so I wanted the best toys. I ended up choosing a faux rabbit foot toy with feathers for self-play, a classic "Lambie" plush, and a handmade hemp catnip mouse with a long tail for interactive play. I even learned a lot about catnip, which I had heard of before but didn't actually know much about--this staff is truly knowledgeable! I also brought my dog with me, and not only did he have a blast playing with other dogs, but the store also gave him free treats to try. They even sent me home with some freeze-dried sample treats, which was such a nice touch. The selection of dog toys here is incredible--I'd honestly be hesitant to bring a child in because the toys are so high-quality, they could pass for children's toys! I ended up getting an amazing eco-friendly crocodile toy made entirely of recycled materials. Its legs are ropes for tug-of-war, and its hollow body holds a replaceable water bottle that creates that satisfying crunching sound dogs love. Once the bottle is chewed up, you can swap it out for a new one--such a smart design! This store has everything--leashes, collars, treats, and a huge variety of toys for both tiny and giant dogs. They also had the cutest little plush toys shaped like root vegetables with adorable faces--absolutely melted my heart! Prices were super affordable, too. Honestly, after seeing what they offer, I don't see the point in ordering pet supplies on Amazon anymore. Stores like this deserve our support, and it's a place my dog genuinely enjoys visiting. I was also looking for travel-sized dog food for a trip and found some perfect 3.5 oz pouches for only $2, which I could take in my carry-on. While browsing, I noticed a lot of repeat customers stopping in just to grab their favorite treats from a self-serve treat station, kind of like those bulk snack bins at Sprouts or Whole Foods. Next time, I'll have to check it out for my dog! Another thing I need to ask about is their nail trimming service, which my neighbor mentioned. While I was there, I even saw the staff helping deliver an adopted puppy to its new home--such a sweet moment! And as I was checking out, I learned they offer same-day delivery, which is so convenient. I haven't placed an order yet, but it's good to know that option exists. Overall, this was such a fun and memorable shopping experience. I'll definitely be coming back and getting all my pet supplies here from now on!

Finally, one day when we were going to Target, my boyfriend suggested we first go look at the baby pigs. I was thrilled! When we walked in there, the first thing I noticed was the incredible stench of reptiles and tiny mammals (one star off for that). Whew! Once I got past that, I felt like a kid at the zoo. Each aquarium had an even more amazing animal than the one I'd just looked at: bearded dragons, veiled chameleons, exotic roaches (okay, that's just disgusting, and I'm glad they didn't come out to say hello), chinchillas, ferrets, and even just plain old mice. There were so many varieties of reptiles, I couldn't remember them all. They even had a Reticulated Python in its own closed off quarters that had large viewing windows. I don't think I'd ever seen a snake so large that close. Truly frightening. It will definitely give you the creepies. A gigantic tortoise also free-roamed the shop - he was fast, and he was chomping on all lettuce strewn about the floor. Oh, they didn't have any more baby pigs, but they offered to put us on the mailing list. We politely declined, but I just may have to go back and see if they're there next time.

My daughter recently received a betta fish for her birthday, and I wanted to upgrade her tank with driftwood and plants. Since I'm new to this, I was looking forward to asking the "experts" a few questions. Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared the moment I walked in. As soon as I entered, the older gentleman behind the counter looked directly at me and then immediately turned away without saying a word. He wasn't helping anyone at the time. I walked around the store for a while and noticed a young woman cleaning items nearby. Not once did she greet me or ask if I needed help. When I was looking at the driftwood display, she walked by, so I asked a question. She gave me what felt like a dirty look, gave a very quick answer, and walked away. I initially thought maybe she was busy helping other customers, but that didn't seem to be the case. What made the experience worse was what happened next. While I was still browsing near the entrance, several other customers walked in. Every single one of them was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I hate to even bring this up, but it left me wondering why my experience was so different. I'm a Hispanic male with tattoos, and every other customer who was greeted appeared to be white with no visible tattoos. I truly hope that wasn't the reason, but I honestly can't think of another explanation for the difference in treatment. Either way, it was disappointing. I had specifically chosen to visit a local specialty shop because I wanted the advice and expertise that comes with it. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and will likely just go to a big box store instead--something I was hoping to avoid. I hope this isn't the normal experience for customers, but it was certainly mine today.

They gave me updates and I appreciated the postcards/Facebook posts about many cat's well being. When I went to pick him up, I was impressed by how clean the place was, considering how my cats and finches were present. My cat's room was very clean, with a big window, the jungle gym setup, and a loft bed. The kitty litter had added fiber pellets, which I hope he liked since he hates sawdust litter. They gave me back everything that I left at dropoff, plus a toy. My cat was very calm, coming by his own free-will to greet the handler. To me, these were all green flags and I will highly recommend Whiskers to anyone needing a safe place for their kittens and cats to stay for a short (or long) spell. They know cats better!
