I'm telling you, there's no place else like Pet Supermarket! They are affordable, regularly have sales, and are the warmest staff I've ever come across for a pet store. They are DOG-gone amazing! Don't have a pup? No worries. They have everything you need for cats, birds, etc. I put this in as a tip but I'll place it here too: They have a $10 self wash and blow dry for your pets! It's the best deal in town and I have DONE my research! Every 7 washes you get one free! They have whitening shampoo, gentle shampoo, regular shampoo, and conditioner free to use as well. Pet Supermarket is great! Though it's a chain, there's only one located in Austin. It's located around the corner from Tomlinson's and they have more of a selection than Tomlinson's of soft carriers. My only wish is that they had more inventory of Coastal leashes. read more

This store is the best! The associates are knowledgeable and friendly- the store itself is clean and laid out well. Prices are fair and it's conveniently located. They have kittens for adoption in the store and offer a great package to help you with getting everything ready to bring your new family member home. We went to a VIP Pet Care health fair today and we were seen immediately- the prices for the vaccines are reasonable. Veterinarian was kind and patient. The techs we're personable and everything went smoothly. Definitely recommend this place for all your pet care needs. read more

Today was the first time we visited Pet Supermarket. We are currently fostering a Golden Retriever and we came into the store to get some advice on what we can do for the shedding. The lady that helped us (I wish we got your name), was so great! We have a Bearded Dragon so my son asked if they have any reptile products. Our sales lady took us to see the reptile section, and we got to meet Miss B, a beautiful and sweet Ball Python. Both my son and I were so impressed with the cleanliness of the store, including the dog baths, and the reptile tanks. Everything was well organized, and the service was the best I have ever had in a pet store! We will be back! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been coming here since it opened. The employees are all so nice and they really know their stuff! Every toy I've gotten from them, based on their personal recommendations have been perfect. I have a large breed puppy who is a super chewer and has destroyed everything. They walked me through everything I could get for her and she hasn't broken any of them. I went looking for an indestructible Kong, they gave me a suggestion for a better alternative and they were spot on. My puppy loves the ball and it's holding up perfectly! They hang out coupons a lot and they have a point system that let's you collect points for money towards anyone in the store. Every $100 you spend, you get $5 back. That's easy for me since I buy $50 bags of food every 4 weeks haha. I highly recommend this place. It's my current favorite in all of Austin! The best things that's come out of this place is the gigantic rope toy. My puppy LOVES rope toys and they have enormous ones that I bought for her and she is in love!! I've never used their groomers, adopted one of their animals, or gotten anything that wasn't for a dog so I can't speak for those looking for a review on their store's other animal related products or offered services. read more

This is my go-to everyday pet store. I find Chad and all the team members at this location to be friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about all kinds of pets. I think this is really what sets Pet Supermarket apart from the other big box pet stores in town. You can tell the employees here actually care about animals and even spend time playing with them, not just at feeding time. My daughter loves animals, and although we're not quite ready for a new pet for her, you can bet we'll be purchasing her first pet here when the time comes. She loves visiting "her friends" at Pet Supermarket -- guinea pigs, hamsters, turtles, snakes, lizards, fish, ferrets, parakeets, you name it! The store is clean. Everyone is so inviting. The dog wash here is THE BEST. $10 gets you a bathtub, two towels and shampoo/conditioner. I bring my own shampoo (don't really love their options) but the conditioner is great. Staff is always friendly AND it's buy 6, get the 7th free. read more

I can not say enough good things about this store. I work for the City and during the snow storm was struggling to find pet food for several dogs and cats in our shelters. The cashier helped me all over the phone (I work from home). They helped me choose brands, I could pay over the phone, and they even helped with tax exemption and made the process so easy. I also had to call back a month later looking for a receipt and they found it instantly and sent it my way. Customer service has been wonderful and staff are very kind and helpful. read more

First time customer for dog bath. Referred by friends that used the self serve dog wash said it was a good place. Cost is $10/pet. I have no other self serve dog places to compare to since we have two recently adopted puppies that needed a bath. Place has a four station bath tub/shower stations in a gated area at front of store. The large sized pet tub/shower can hold two medium sized large breed puppies in one. Still a lot of work to get one cleaned while the other one sits so best to have another person or do one at a time. Pet supermarket supplies 3 types of shampoo, Oder, itch, white fur, and final conditioner, microfiber towels and a built in blow dry hose. Dog bone treats as a reward at the end. You can tether the dogs inside the bath tub area but no tether ring/hook on the dry table that I could see. They should add a tether ring/hook. Mine jumped off as soon as the air hit them, combo of air and noise. Not sure if its heated air or just room temp air since I gave up using the air dryer. Again a second person could have helped to hold. I just used towels to dry as best as I could. Best time to go is mornings as the stated afternoons may have a line. I went was after 6pm on a work day and no other dogs were using the dog bath area. My two pups tolerated the new experience well but they are a clam breed. Took longer than I would have liked but I am on a learning curve with this. I did not shop for products but was shown the shampoos they use in the bath area and they were priced at $8.99/bottle for purchase. read more

This store has lost me as a customer. I bought a dog collar on sale that didn't have the size listed on the item. I asked the sales person/asst. manager at the check out what size it was and she told me that it was a size small. My dog, part mini-poodle, wears a small. Perfect - or so I thought. I brought the collar home and tried to put it on my dog but it was much too small. I measured the collar and it was 9" from the loosest hole to the clasp. That is the standard size for xs, not small. When I took the collar back to the store to do an exchange I was told by the same person who gave me the erroneous information about the collar size that it was a final sale and to donate it. Seriously? Way to stand by your products and advice given to customers, Pet Supermarket. What a waste of $!. Why don't I just take a $10 bill and light it on fire. I will never patronize them again. read more
