I ordered the flowers, picked certain colors for the flowers for a reason, had ordered a ribbon with a certain saying and paid for it all with my credit card. I get to the funeral service and what do I see? I see that the whole arrangement had been changed. Apparently, I was told that the biological mother had called the shop, spoke to the same person that I ordered the arrangement from, and she completely changed what the original order was. The owner,who personally knows the biological mom, never reached out to me or the father of the deceased, to verify that such changes should be made. Mom was not paying for that arrangement, WE were. I reached out to the owner of the flower shop the following business day and informed her of the situation that occurred and expressed that she did not have the authorization to change our order just because "mom" wanted something else. Mom should have placed her own order of flowers and not be concerned about our flowers. I asked for a refund because I did not get what I ordered. Wrong flowers, wrong colors, wrong ribbon etc. Why should I have to pay for something that this shop changed without my permission just because they know the other party involved. She did credit half of it and told me she refused to deal with me anymore. I firmly believe that I am entitled to a full refund and she should be charging the other party for those flowers that were paid by us but not our order. Completely disappointed in the service I received at a difficult time that we are already dealing with. What's even more disappointing and appalling is it's the owner of the establishment that did this and there is no one else for me to reach out to to resolve this issue besides maybe the Better Business Bureau. Not only did they not hesitate when I asked for delivery to be made to the soccer field, I was told they'd try to include the colleges colors in the arrangement as much as possible. We were referred to Darlene by the funeral home, where we had been attending a meeting, after a full day of travel from out of town. Darlene met us at her shop, and led us to a sitting area. We never felt rushed as she consulted with us about what we needed and offered suggestions. The prices were reasonable. The shop itself was inviting and well cared for. This business is one of Erie's hidden gems. The service was client-focused, professional, and compassionate. The beautiful arrangements arrived on time at the church the following morning.
