Typically, I am a huge fan of Wild Eggs, but I was slightly underwhelmed by this visit. The cinnamon roll app was absolutely amazing. My husband and I both ordered mimosas. They came in water glasses, the waitress apologized and said it was because they had a special for a white cranberry mimosa and all the mimosa flutes were currently dirty. My husband and I weren't informed of the white cranberry mimosa special that day, nor was it on a menu for seasonal drinks. My husband and I were trying to be positive and thought, maybe we got lucky for getting a glass that holds more than a champagne flute. But when we tasted them, our "mimosas" tasted like straight up orange juice. My husband ordered Trippin Chicken Crepes with a side of bacon. They were delicious and he ate every single bite of them. I ordered the Lox and Bagel Bennie with potatoes. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, the potatoes, however, were not. They tasted sort of burnt and like the oil was old or something. Not very appetizing. I did not finish my plate. Not to mention the portion size of the potatoes were much smaller than the usual portion size. My friend took me here when I visited Lexington. At the time I was craving some French toast so I decided to get the stuffed french toast and their coffee of the day. Everything tasted amazing. I never finish my meal and usually save half. But this was so good that I finished every bite. There were blueberries and sweetened cream cheese inside with some strawberries. I really enjoyed the menu at Wild Eggs and found myself having several good options to choose from. It was busy on a Sunday morning but got us in pretty quickly and also had complementary coffee which was a nice touch. Had an omelette with some fixings which was good along with the grits of the day and the muffin. The grits were awesome. Also shared a cinnamon roll which was tasty though the frosting was a little too cream cheesy for my taste. Service pretty good except a bit slow. Very nice people though. Went for brunch on a Sunday at around noon. The place was pretty packed and we had to wait a while for a table (we did have a party of 8, which probably didn't help). There was free coffee to tide us over, however, which helped a little. After sitting down, our waitress immediately took our drink orders. The pitchers of mimosas are probably your best bet as everything else is pretty outlandishly expensive. $3.50 for a glass of orange juice? I could get a gallon next door at Rite Aid for less than that. The pitcher of mimosas will get you about 6-7 for around $20, but that doesn't help if you don't feel like drinking. The food is definitely worth going for, though. I had steak and eggs. The meat was done to a perfect medium and the eggs were poached better than I have had at most places. There was a pretty good amount of food for the price and I was super full after finishing my plate. My wife also got a pancake for me to try, and it was pretty amazing. I don't know how they make a pancake taste better than any other pancake but they do. Other than the weirdly expensive drinks, this place is worth checking out. read more

Somewhat strange. I've always considered breakfast an intimate meal. Meaning that as a child I'm sure most of us can remember breakfast being served in our mother's kitchen. The smells of a fresh prepared breakfast seemed to linger in the kitchen. The kitchen was always warm and cozy. Wild Eggs is exactly the opposite. The space they occupy is huge. It's not warm at all nor is it accommodating. It looks like it was assembled in what may of been a hardware store. My breakfast was mediocre at best. My suggestion is to install a fake ceiling, warm the place up and add some backbone to your coffee. read more

We have eaten here multiple times and it never fails to please us! The service is great, and the food is even better! I always enjoy ordering the coffee of the day, it's been great every time. This place is a great place to eat if you have time to wait. I've been here with my wife 3-4 times and have always had to wait at least 20 minutes. I guess that's a good problem for them to have. They do offer free coffee while you wait so that helps. The first time I went they actually gave me the wrong dish but I did not realize it until I had taken a few bites. This was a great mistake. I loved the wild mushroom and roasted garlic scramble. They folded in egg whites with fresh goat cheese and white truffle oil, skillet potatoes and an everything muffin. I have gotten the same thing every time since that first mistake and loved it. My wife usually gets the Hoosier Bennie and says it is delicious. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I took my kids today, we waiting at our table 20 minutes and didn't receive service. I asked a busser if they could send someone. Totally delicious! This place was swamped when we showed up, but seats are first-come, first-served at the bar area, so we were able to snag some seats there immediately. My husband had an omelet with chorizo in it and that was absolutely amazing. My omelet with spinach and bacon was good - nothing special. The grits of the day had roasted mushrooms, havarti cheese (I think) and something else in them. Those blew my mind - they were (and still are) the best grits I have ever had. I wanted to ask them to make me a plate of just those grits. SO GOOD. I also ordered the potato latkas (mostly because I was surprised to see them on the menu) and while they tasted okay, they were super greasy. UPDATE - I changed my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars after my visit on 9-11-17. Although the food quality was just as great as our initial visit, I was actually quite appalled by the service (or lack thereof). An elderly woman at the table next to me asked two different servers a question about the Lexington area, as she was from out of town. Both servers were really quite short with her and did little to help answer her question, and while being a local travel guide may not be in their job description, it's not like she was asking for anything impossible or unreasonable. Even more troublesome for me was watching and listening as various servers were making snide comments about their tables to other servers. They were trying to be subtle in doing so, but one of them apparently learned in her inside voice on an airport tarmac. I don't care how great the food is - I have no desire to eat somewhere that the patrons are made fun of like I witnessed yesterday. Original review - This place is an absolute gem! The only regret we have in our entire dining experience is that we didn't find this place sooner. A lot sooner. The menu is very different from the run of the mill eatery, especially when it comes to breakfast. My husband got the huevos rancheros and devoured it. Not a very welcoming vibe from the hostess. When I asked about a place to get coffee in the shopping center while my wife and I waited for our table she just stared at me and pointed her pen at a coffee station nearby on the counter. Okay, I'm not very observant (related to being at brunch on Sunday). I waited five minutes and wrote a work email to give her time to refill after I told her it was out and she said she would refill. When I finished the email and asked her how much longer it would be she started to say they were having trouble of some sort, then a server came to the stand and she asked the server to go get more coffee. The only trouble had been that she hadn't made an effort yet. So, when your job is to be the first interface with the customers: 1) Use your words, 2) Don't make excuses (and then get caught lying). Haven't eaten yet. Not a great start, but I'll amend if we get the 4.5 star experience other Yelpers have had. Okay, bumped up the stars from 2 to 3. Our server, Lee Ann, was a peach. One of the best restaurants we've been to ever. Our waitress, Lauren, gave us a warm friendly welcome. The information she shared helped us make a decision on the many different and delicious options offered. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The skillet potatoes and Everything Muffin were delicious. The pancakes are huge,fluffy and so good served with warm syrup. Love the food here. But the strong disinfectant smell when you walk in the door almost knocks me over. I'm certainly glad they keep the place clean, but the smell of the cleaner is overpowering. And doesn't subside throughout the meal. The 80s rock music blasting at 7 am is also a bit much. read more

Ordered food arrived on my doorstep from DoorDash, had my name on the bag with my receipt with everything I ordered. Inside the bag was nothing I ordered. Called them said it wasn't their fault that they put all the wrong things in your bag with your name on it with a receipt with all the stuff you ordered. That it was the DoorDasher's fault who picked the order with my name on the bag with all the stuff I ordered. That their was nothing they could do and I asked to speak to the manager and they wouldn't even get on the phone to talk to me or apologize they had the person I was speaking to say their was nothing they could do. All I wanted was for them remake my order and I was going to drive there and get it. That's it just my food I ordered I would bring this other persons order that got put in my bag back. But it should be a lesson to business owners to really be careful who you hire to manage your stores. I wasn't mad at wild eggs or the person on the phone.
