Picture a large, rectangular space where one could twirl like a dervish at not knock into anything. The till/display counter is found along the left-hand side of the shop toward the back. The lone employee on the day I visited was also to be found there scrolling through things on the internet. I'd come in looking for a particular jeweler's work. Eventually, I made my way to the sales person and asked if they were a stockist for so-and-so. The employee answered in the affirmative at about the same time as I spied the jewelry in question. The employee neither offered to show me any of the items under glass nor shared much about the jeweler's technique. (Never mind, I had done my homework before coming in, so was well-versed in the methods of this particular artist.) The selection in question was tidy, so I asked if the jewelry maker also makes custom work. The response was: 'Well, they can't make you whatever they want, but...' Um, what? If I'm asking after a Picasso, then why would I expect it to look like a Chagall? Also: If the store only stocks ruby and sapphire rings in size 7, or whatever, and I'd like a ring only fashioned with rubies in a size 9, then that's called 'custom'. (Unless, of course, the artist has a cache of exactly what I'd like located in an atelier somewhere.) In short, the shop is pretty as a postcard, but the customer service is fairly paltry. Be prepared to do most of the verbal footwork during the interaction, if you do decide to make the journey in to Reliquary.

There's zero pressure to buy just good vibes and easy conversation, which honestly makes shopping way more enjoyable. The best part? Their pieces are special. This isn't a store where you see the same things everywhere else. I actually found my all-time favorite pair of super high waisted jeans here. I didn't even buy them on the spot went home, tried to be responsible, and couldn't stop thinking about them. The next day I ordered them online because I was like, nope, these are not getting away from me. I've picked up a few things from Assembly Hall now jewelry, jeans, shirts, pants and every single piece has been a win. The quality is great, the prices are reasonable, and everything feels thoughtfully chosen. One thing to know: things move quickly. Not in a stressful way just in a "if you see something you love, don't overthink it for a week" kind of way. You can absolutely walk away and come back... just maybe don't wait too long This is a small business I truly enjoy supporting, and I'm really glad they're here in the city. I recently fell in love with the heatwave pattern in the linen garden suit. Brands like Nooworks…read moreare ordinarily way, way out of my budget but I wanted to celebrate a special accomplishment with a special one-time purchase. They were out of my size, XL, and said that they didn't have anymore of this fabric so they would not be restocking it. I thought I'd lucked out when an XL became available due to a return. I immediately ordered it. Fast forward, it is as beautiful as I'd imagined. However, it came with a super strong perfume fragrance all over it. I cannot tolerate fragrances due to migraines and other chronic illness conditions. Additionally, there were a few very minor snags in the fabric. Both of these issues suggest that the item was worn, returned, and then sold to me at full price. To the credit of Nooworks' customer service they offered me the choice of a free return (usually there is a $10 fee) or 10% off. I love the jumpsuit so much and there are no others available in my size , so I took the 10% refund. Now I've thoroughly hand washed twice and the fragrance is less prominent but still strong. I recognize that Nooworks made a concerted effort to right the situation and it was my decision to keep the item. At the same time, I believe they should have been more cautious about inspecting the item and cleaning it before sending it out. I was told they can't accept a return now that I've washed it, which I understand. It is super disappointing that better care wasn't taken in the first place, though, since I may not be able to wear it if I cannot get the fragrance out. I'd initially ordered a few other items to try that came in a separate package and one of the items also had a very strong perfume odor. I get this doesn't bother many people but when I buy clothing new, especially at a premium, I expect it to be free of fragrances. It's one of the reasons I spend more for new items when I'd rather buy thrift, resale, etc. Long story short is to check your items thoroughly upon receipt. If you're sensitive to fragrances, you might want to pass on purchasing from this company.
