I love wild fork. I am from FL, and I really truly love them, only would love them more if some not all but some of their desert we're non-Dairy. And not talking preference talking more like for allergies. My son can have anything that has dairy and wild fork has amazing desserts but with dairy. Due to my son, we stay away from dairy. Wild Fork is known for blast freezing their meats to maintain the peak of freshness and to maintain the temperature throughout the supply chain. I was a little hesitant in regards to all their products being frozen, but thawing it is super easy (running it under cold water for about 30-45 minutes, and it's ready to go). They have a great selection of meats and cuts, such as beefs, steaks, chicken, pork, lamb, turkeys, sausages, burgers and meatballs, and even specialty meats, such as alligator, veal, rabbit, ostrich, goat, goose, bison, pheasant, elk, and venison. Seafood includes fish and shellfish that are wild-caught, of premium grade, and oven-ready entrees/meals. Prices are pretty competitive, if not better in terms of comparing to other grocery stores. We purchased a ground prime rib and some frozen ginger tabs for cooking. Staff were friendly and were readily available for assistance. They do have some type of a loyalty/rewards program, but we weren't asked if we were interested in signing up. The people working their were extremely helpful and gave us great information on what the place is and on their selections. Wild Fork's specialty groceries seem to be popping up all over the USA. As this is being written, they have 4 stores in the greater Chicago area (the Skokie store is located next door to the brand new Waterway Carwash). We wandered in, not knowing what to expect, and were wowed by its uniqueness. First, it's the antithesis of the "always fresh, never frozen" credo because every item in this store is frozen! Second, this is by far the biggest variety of meats and seafood we have ever seen in a single store. The prices are fair. The layout is spacious and brightly lit (this used to be a mattress store). The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful. We bought a couple small items to sample and will definitely return to shop for more once we have more space in our freezer. This newest Wild Fork has only been open for a couple weeks.  Apparently, no more will open in Chicagoland this year.  They have a great, visible storefront (look for bright orange!) right on the busy and convenient corner of Skokie Blvd and Gross Point Rd.  Their space is amenable to nice browsing with a very sunny and airy setting from a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.  I might be wrong, but their inventory compared to the other newish location in Mt. Prospect looked a little more stacked with beef and fish products and less stocked with exotic meats.  But to be clear, there's still their wide, diverse, and interesting variety of frozen products to choose from. read more

I love Wild Fork. At first, I was freaked out that everything is frozen. I hate frozen foods. I don't know if it's me or my freezer but frozen food tastes so gross to me. They assured me that their freezing method is different. Whatever, I thought. I started small with a chicken breast. Love that is is 100% organic. I know, I'm high maintenance but it tastes so much better and being one step away from joining my vegan and pescatarian friends, I need to know the animals are treated and fed well. First off, I'm not sure but it seemed to defrost rapidly which is a plus. And secondly, I can say hands down this was the best chicken that I have ever had. It cured me of my chicken aversion. I went back and tried the sides and desserts and also some other cuts of meat. Cheaper than the grocery store. Yes, one more stop but is is worth it. read more

Hard to know how many stars to appoint to Wild Fork. They definitely have a wide variety of frozen and exotic meat. We bought a brisket for Rosh Hashanah and it was very fatty. We went back to their location and let them know..they refunded the $90.00 spent on the spot. That was freakin cool and the way the manager handled it was top shelf professional. So if you ever are unsatisfied with one of their products, I'd recommend from our experience to speak up and let them know. read more

This place is amazing. If Your a seafood lover their seafood is packaged and fresh! I like how the mussels are cleaned and beards taken out already. I live just less than a mile away and I always come here every week for fresh seafood. The prices are less than the grocery stores too. Wild Fork has everything you need for grilling anything! The crew who work there are friendly, helpful, and down right amazing. Of course the best part of all is the prices. I have passed this place many times by car and first thought it was a restaurant. We finally went in and looked around. It was a great visit. All the food is clean--organic--and there is no dye in the meats. There are a few prepared frozen foods--my daughter loved the empanadas and the mini key lime pies. This store took over the spot where the mattress store was located on Gross Point and Skokie Blvd. I wanted to check out the store and prices when I first saw the store. I was expecting over the top prices for the location and it being marketed as a seafood and meat store. However, when I checked it out I was pleasantly surprised. It is frozen meats and seafood and I actually left with some items that were meat and seafood and more at an okay price. First of all the store is more than seafood and meat. There are seasonings, frozen desserts, frozen vegetables, frozen entrees, frozen sides, and some frozen fruits. The store and its frozen foods concept was nostalgic for me because we had a store similar to it growing up in Pittsburgh called Walmens or something like that. So I am totally ok with shopping all frozen for some items. The store is new and clean. The customer service is nice. I liked that there is food from all places and different varieties or selections of meats and seafoods. I even bought some frozen precooked plantains. We got some bay scallops at a decent price. My family is small so I'm not sure if the cost to shop at this store would be great for a large family unless well planned and you hit any sales. I recommend this store and location. read more

Wife went there to purchase the marrow bones for our dog..she asked the floor clerk where they were and he just pointed in the general area,,she could still not locate and ended up buying a more expensive cut of meat..poor service for a new store..Se went back to the Evanston store where she shopped when it first opened..the clerks were friendly and attentive..she found what she came for...whole different atmosphere in that store..Skokie store has lost our business read more
