Absolutely loved our experience with Jim and Wendy! These two are passionate about their craft and it shows. All of their spirits are thoughtfully created. It was hard to choose what to purchase! My husband does not typically drink "tequila", but fell in love with their Drove Salvaje! Wendy was extremely helpful with our purchase and makes a mean cocktail. I love this place and I love the product. Jim & Wendy are great hosts who offer tastes of all their regular spirits and even some they're working on. Wendy makes some delicious cocktails. A true craft distillery with masters at the helm! We were lucky to arrive at the distillery without reservations and Wendy graciously treated us like we were family! We enjoyed tasting all of the spirits to select our favorites, visiting with Wendy was the sugar on the rim! Agave spirits are my go-to so seeing the unique selection definitely brought a smile to my face! Let me just say, they are all very good, top shelf agave spirits! The Drove Amberana is the most unique of the Drove line, the Roble Blanco Salvaje was my favorite so of course we took a bottle home! Wow. Worth getting an appointment and your. The spirits are truly exceptional- by all means get the Objective Rum and Ginger with dried lime. There is a lot to love here - run by a very knowledgeable couple (Jim and Wendy) that really understand distilling and customer relations. This place is going to explode- wish I could invest. Stopped in last night for a tasting and had the best time. The owners couldn't have been happier to describe their liquors for us and walked us through the production process. We were then given a very generous tasting of 6 different products. All of them were excellent, but we appreciated the wide range of options. In particular, the barrel aged agave liquors were great and unique. Their online presence says that they require tours, but the owners said they just want people to call ahead in case it is very busy or both of them are in the back working on distilling or bottling. Simply put, call before you get there, enjoy a walkthrough of their products and methodology, and then taste a variety of excellent liquors made by two passionate owners. read more

We were looking for a distillery one day when this place popped up and was close by. It turned out that they weren't open for anything but bottle sales, as they were prepping for a cocktail festival the next day. That didn't stop Wendy and Jim from showing us tremendous hospitality. They have an obvious passion for their craft and gave us samples of many of their liquors. Look for their spirits locally because they are serious about making delicious liquors and educating people about how to enjoy them. read more

Let's start by saying this is the first review I've ever written and it's for good reason. I've been to a decent number of distilleries, but the tour and tasting I did (with my family) here at Wild Hare was the best experience I've had. Jim and Wendy are so incredibly personable and knowledgeable, while also making some fantastic spirits at VERY reasonable prices. I'm a bourbon neat kind of guy, and their barrel strength rye, and roble blanco salvaje were my favorite. Their chocolate vodka deserves a shoutout too, and I'm definitely not a vodka guy (you won't regret having Wendy make you an espresso martini!). If you haven't been here, you're missing out! I'm confident WHD is going to explode in popularity. I will make it a point to visit Phoenix again just to come back to visit (and buy a handful of bottles)! read more

Our family had a great time at Wild Hare Distillery. So great that we didn't make it to our next stop. We intended to check out Arizona Distillery after but we had so much fun we stayed for hours. The tour was awesome. The drinks were amazing. The people were great. The barrel strength rye is a winner. The chocolate martini is dangerous (in a good way). So delicious you won't know till it hits you. The Red Headed Hare is another favorite. So good! It's a smaller distillery which made the experience all the much better. The space felt quite intimate where you could talk and hangout directly with the owners. Jim and Wendy are an absolute blast! I hope to make it back to AZ at some point to visit again. read more

We were a party of six friends visiting the distillery on 4th of July weekend. We had a fabulous time! Wendy and Jim are very knowledgeable and friendly. I recently moved from San Diego to Phoenix and came here with family during my first week here. This place is so unique and the owners make you feel like you're sipping cocktails at a friend's home. Wendy and Jim were very knowledgeable and taught us all about the distillery business and intricate process of making agave. I tasted quite a few of the drinks and enjoyed every one. We rented Wild Hare for a work event, and Jim & Wendy totally crushed our expectations. Jim gave an incredibly knowledgeable tour, without being too serious, and Wendy is a chemist behind the bar. I took my Boyfriend for a Tour and Tasting as an anniversary gift and it was amazing! The whole experience felt so relaxed and comfortable while we got to go into the back and see everything. To the point where they even would pull out ingredients so we could smell them or open barrels that were going at the moment so we could see inside and smell those too. It was so great that it inspired my boyfriend to even get back into wanting to make mead again. The tasting was all delicious, they have flavors for different types of people, whether you go for a stronger taste or a more laid back. We bought a bottle and so did the couple that we did the tour with because we had to have it. They were generous with how much we got to taste, and even made us all a mixed drink with one of them to try out (which inspired me to get the Cinnamon Tequila they have right now). It has honestly become my new mixed drink to make at home (with lemon and agave). I 100% recommend doing the tour, but at the very least, go try their product 'Drove' I think one of the places they mentioned it to be at was Total Wine, but you can get it online as well. We came with a party of 4 on a groupon. OMG this place was MINDBLOWING. The owners are very very down to earth. Not every taste was amazing, but most of them were decent, a few were fantastic!! Most importantly the owners were SO great. They were extremely down to earth, very sweet and made the most amazing cocktails!
