    Wall of liquor to buy
    Shawn V.

This place has the beat service and backstory! Their family went to great lengths to honor their Dad who pass away with this amazing restaurant and distillery. ThenMom and Daughter are great withe the customers and will have you in their corner in no time! First off, the place produces great tasting (and award winning) vodka and gin, that goes down way too smooth. Then, add in their food, especially their ham and cheese pretzel sandwich that is paired with homemade beer cheese and honey mustard sauces. Wow! The honey mustard is so good, and worth the visit just on its own! The story, the food and the master distilled liquors; this is a MUST stop in old town.

We are visiting some family and they took us over to One Handsome Bastard Distillery for a cocktail and snack. Here's what we noticed: - As you would expect, they have a lot of really interesting drinks. Prices are higher, but that's everywhere for cocktails like this. The server brought me a little taster of the blood orange gin because I was curious about whether I should get a flight, so that was nice. - We split the Bar Flight Nachos with chicken as a table... It was $18 but worth it as the portion was massive and the dish was very tasty. The $16 flatbread was very tasty too, but not overly big. - Service was great and sitting outside was very enjoy enjoyable. Bottom line: One Handsome Bastard was a fun place...I would go back!

Perfect Food. Perfect Drinks. Perfect Service. This will definitely be my go to dinner and drink spot when I am in the area!!

Looking for a cool vibe, great drinks, good food & attentive and friendly service in Scottsdale...look no further! Had a birthday gather on the patio with over 20 people and all was awesome. Larissa was a shining star and managed our large spread out group with grace and ease; ask for her and you will get the best service! Lots of Gluten Free options made this place a further stand out in a sea of Scottsdale Old Town bars & restaurants.

Great food, service and the place is amazing. The lighting is different haven't seen the bulbs before but there cool. Nice and quiet place and some TVs for your sport fans. Got the street tacos with chicken. Seasoned and top perfectly. Family was with me so they got the nachos and bbq chicken flatbread and sweet potato tots. Flat bread was well sauces, seasoned and the cheese was melted perfectly. Nachos were great nice size nd topped very well. Great experience for first time coming in. I would come back.

Chicken burger on gluten-free bun with added mushrooms and onions
    Kris L.

Had a great chicken burger on one of the best gluten-free buns I have had at a restaurant in a while, plus a huge side salad. The house made pickles are very good, crunchy and only lightly tasting of vinegar. The vib inside is relaxed yet fun and service was fast and friendly. Come hungry as the portions were large.

Delicious & great service! I got the mushroom burger sans the bun and it was cooked perfect, medium to well done! The sweet potato fries were hot & yummy dipped in ranch! The hubs got the Pine Top burger which is a customer favorite & recommended & it indeed was messy & good! He got the french fries that are cut and fried in the shape of potato chips! He says those were absolutely delicious dipped in the aïoli sauce!! The atmosphere is open, clean and full of drinking options since it is also a vodka & gin distillery. We didn't have that for lunch but we'll be back for a tasting for sure! Definitely check this place out! We met the manager/owner- super nice, friendly & welcoming lady!

great bloody marys! they have a spicy vodka that really elevates the drink and love all the toppings on it as well they have a lot of tvs and a good sized patio as well as indoors

We came in on a Sunday afternoon and the place is deserted. Good playlist for the music, all the tvs are muted so we can watch what is on or actually talk! Menu is good. We had a green apple, bacon and blue cheese flat bread. The hot honey was just honey with a ton of red pepper flakes, not a fan. We did a flight of 2 gins and 2 flavored vodkas. All were good!

We seated ourselves and our server greeted us right away and brought us waters. It was happy hour so we happily ordered our cocktails. The burgers we ordered were huge! The burger was tasty and my tots were crispy. The food came out pretty slow.

Hey ... this is a nice small batch distillery in Old Scottsdale. Gin and vodkas. I like the blood orange gin and lemon vodka. Maybe just as good as Citron Absolute. They serve food. They have happy hour 4:30 to 7 during the week . Check and make sure for 1/2 off cocktails and $1 off drafts.

I don't remember the burgers we got but they were fantastic!
    Lauren R.

So good! We tried many of their drinks (all half off during happy hour!) feminine rage and their espresso martini were our favorites. Their food was also delicious, next time I'd get their sweet potato tots extra crispy. They have games on the tables which is always fun with a group. The service was great as well!

Ask the Community - One Handsome Bastard Distillery

    Is it noisy?

The noise level is comfortable. We have gone with a party of six and there we two other larger groups and it wasn't bad. We aren't youngsters and truly enjoy the atmosphere and staff. A nice menu and happy hour.

    Is the patio dog-friendly?

    Yes!

We sat outside in the evening shade for a nice gathering. We shared the Cuban Caesar salad with romaine, manchego cheese, sliced pears, toasted pepitas, masa croutons, avocado, fried plantain chips and Aji amarillo Caesar. The salad was crisp, well dressed and delicious with the fried / curled plantain chips. The shrimp cerviche with fried plantains, blue corn tortilla chips, lime, cilantro and cucumber pico de gallo was ok but not remarkable. Our final selection was the Gaucho spiced skirt steak with chimichurri, and masa potato cakes. The steak was overcooked, not medium rare, bland taste and tough. The potato cake was tasteless. Overall, the ambience and service was good, however, the food lacks any hint of Cuban flare except for the fried plantains. When I think of Cuban food, I salivate for the unique taste profiles with a hint of sweetness from the fruits. At The canal Club, I found it non-existing. The name, setting, and environment is good but the kitchen needs to let in on the theme being Cuban.

When we arrived, it was a bit confusing, as there wasn't really any signage or staff who were willing to assist in directing us to the the place - the hostess at the elements restaurant was snippy and was just rude for no reason! The setup at jade bar was fine; sitting by the windows is your best bet to get a nicer view; however, there was a wedding that was taking place outside, so we couldn't access to have the option to do an al fresco experience. There was no hostess, and the waitstaff seemed to be limited; we didn't know this was just a 'walk-in and grab a seat at any table' type of a setup - We ordered: +the Truffle Tots - did not expect what this dish was; the romesco sauce was just not good +a California maki roll - the imitation crab meat had an off taste to them, and it wasn't tightly rolled so everything fell apart +and, the Chicken Wings - this was covered in some type of a sticky/hoisin type of a sauce; the chicken was NOT cooked through, and we thought we were going to get sick We ordered the Blueberry Dreams (prepared with buffalo trace bourbon, lillet rouge, blueberry lemon, honey, and ginger) and the Spicy Margarita (prepared with deleon blanco tequila, cucumber, jalapeno, and lime) - both were made very strong and were aesthetically pleasing. The seating area and the chairs could have been wiped down and cleaned better; we noticed stains on the furniture. We weren't checked-in often throughout our experience; we would have liked refills, ordered additional drinks, etc., but it wasn't hapepning. Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. That's what we did and it made all the difference Explore the rest of bustling Old Town Scottsdale. There's literally something for everyone, and definitely check out the Frybread Lounge for some great Native American fusion cuisine Chee

Our waitress was phenomenal and offered so many helpful menu tips as well. For the ambiance, think dark, moody, and sexy vibes. Even though the exterior and bathroom areas of the W Hotel are under construction, the ambiance within the restaurant is beautiful and unaffected. I also appreciated their waiting area with seating and TVs so we could catch the very end of the World Cup game! The food and drinks were amazing. Often when you dine at these new aesthetic spots in Phoenix/Scottsdale the food disappoints - but not here. Only dish we didn't love was the chicken piccata which was a bit plain. My vodka pasta and the braised beef pasta were delicious and flavorful. And let's not forget the dessert offerings: gelato, affogato, and tiramisu were all so good! Honestly, probably need to get a new hostess cause everyone else was so nice and smiling and just a great vibe. Our server Kelly made up for how terrible the hostess was. Kelly walked through the menu with us and the favorite entrees as well as the martini cart which was such a fun experience. My husband got the veal cutlets and it was the best he's ever had. I had the branzino which was good but quite dry. I think if it had an actual light lemon type sauce it would make it easier to eat. We also got the Mac and cheese which almost didn't make it but our server made it happen! We got the chocolate torte to go and holy moly that was so good. Also, can't forget the calamari, it's a must have. That dip was divine! We also loved the antipasto that came while we were looking at the menu and it was such a great twist from the usual bread service cause it was light. All in all, we loved it and we will be back and we hope the hostess is a different person when we do come back!
