Wild Lime is a family business- really nice people who care about the Everglades and its wildlife. They helped us organize a terrific naturalist walk and airboat tour with friends. Their location is nearly in the center of South Florida. We drove an hour and a half from from Naples, and Wild Lime brought our Miami friends in a luxury motor coach- about 40 minutes ride. We met our guide Tammy at Miccosukee General Store. She came well equipped with plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug repellent [we didn't need it in February.]. The tour started with an hour plus walk in Shark Valley National Park. Tammy, a former school teacher, was super knowledgeable about all the wildlife, birds, alligators, and plants we saw. After the walk we made a short hop to Tiger Tail Airboat tours where Humberto took us on an amazing ride to the family's reptile rescue facility on a tree island. They keep invasive species there so they aren't reintroduced back into the Everglades, and they treat and release injured reptiles. Humberto treated each of the baby alligators, caymans, and turtles like his babies: every one of them has a name and we learned a ton about Everglades wildlife. The airboat ride, our first, was exciting, but very safe- Humberto's a careful pilot. They also provide ear protection they sanitize between each tour. It was a great experience and one we'll take future visitors on.

Alligators, dolphins, and sawfish were just a few of the interesting wildlife we saw during our full day tour with Wild Lime Adventures. For those who only go on an air boat trip while visiting the Everglades, you are really missing out! Wild Lime Adventures was the perfect choice for us, showing there is so much more to the Everglades than just alligators (Though getting up close to alligators is always very cool, as well!). The tour, by itself, would have been fantastic, with hikes through a variety of ecosystems, a boat ride in the mangroves, a great lunch, and the iconic airboat ride. However, Zac, our tour guide, was the star of the show! Zac was incredibly knowledgeable and provided historical perspectives to each facet of our tour, while educating us on the wildlife we encountered along the way. His enthusiasm for the environment was inspiring and we definitely left with a better understanding of the Everglades.

We went on a half day tour of the Everglades today. It was everything I expected and more. We were picked up at our hotel, we were educated on the issues of the Everglades, and on the Flora and fauna of the area. And then we got to go on an airboat amazing! Our tour guide, Lindsay, was helpful, and we were impressed that she learned everyone's names, and there were 17 of us on the tour! We would highly recommend this to her!

Our guide, Marc, was energetic, extremely knowledgeable, and very considerate of our individual interests, which made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. Pickup was easy and convenient at a location near the Miami airport, and the clean, comfortable van made the drive across southern Florida along the Tamiami Trail enjoyable. The airboat ride was a highlight--we got up close and personal with alligators sunning themselves despite the chilly weather, which was unforgettable. The day ended with a phenomenal boat ride with an excellent captain on the west coast through and around the mangrove islands, where we saw dolphins, white pelicans, cormorants, and an impressive variety of other waterfowl. Overall, this was a highly educational and entertaining day from start to finish. A perfect way to experience the Everglades and Florida's unique ecosystems.

There is no shade on the grounds so much of the time was spent standing in the hot sun. Waiting to get into an airboat was a bit chaotic and tiresome. There were shade canopies along the queue but they were not deployed for some reason. Staff seemed a bit disorganized, groups were confused on where to go and given mixed directions from staff members. The experience on the boat was nice and we saw a variety of wildlife. The captain was knowledgeable and spotted alligators quickly. The gator show was fun but short. The host Paul was funny and engaging, the entire audience was captivated. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our highlight was getting to hold a baby alligator and knowing that our money was going to one of the only no kill gator rescues!

The air movement on the boat keeps you from getting too warm, even when the sun is blazing, but don't forget your sunscreen. There's no bad seat aboard. All in all, it's a nice little boat ride if you're looking to get outside and burn some time in Fort Lauderdale. There is a string of food shops along the waterfront outside the entrance, so you can plan to grab lunch or dinner before or after your ride. We really enjoyed our trip, but I'm deducting one star due to the boat traffic (which I know they cannot really help). Maneuvering around all the other drunks in their watercraft was kind of a drag.
