She was so funny and personable and had a lot of passion and knowledge about nature. She told us the history of the area, how different ecosystems work and thrive in the park, and many interesting facts about the birds, plants, gators, and other wildlife. She also included funny anecdotes about her own experiences camping/hiking in the parks. We saw many incredible creatures including alligators, dolphins, birds (roseate spoonbill, osprey, anhinga, swallowtail kites, pelicans), and even a cottonmouth snake (from a safe distance)! Everything was above expectations from start to end. Enoch was such a professional guide and a wealth of interesting knowledge. He arrived at our hotel for pickup on time, the van was clean and comfortable his driving was safe. We arrived on time and got right to each activity without waiting around. The wildlife was amazing and this trip ticked off many of our bucket list items. Airboat Ride was like a hover craft over water and reeds, the boat ride in the gulf island was exhilarating and we had a whole pod of dolphins playing in our wake. The nature hike was very interesting and Enoch shared so much knowledge and history of the Everglades. Wild Lime is a family business- really nice people who care about the Everglades and its wildlife. They helped us organize a terrific naturalist walk and airboat tour with friends. Their location is nearly in the center of South Florida. We drove an hour and a half from from Naples, and Wild Lime brought our Miami friends in a luxury motor coach- about 40 minutes ride. We met our guide Tammy at Miccosukee General Store. She came well equipped with plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug repellent [we didn't need it in February.]. The tour started with an hour plus walk in Shark Valley National Park. Tammy, a former school teacher, was super knowledgeable about all the wildlife, birds, alligators, and plants we saw. After the walk we made a short hop to Tiger Tail Airboat tours where Humberto took us on an amazing ride to the family's reptile rescue facility on a tree island. They keep invasive species there so they aren't reintroduced back into the Everglades, and they treat and release injured reptiles. Humberto treated each of the baby alligators, caymans, and turtles like his babies: every one of them has a name and we learned a ton about Everglades wildlife. The airboat ride, our first, was exciting, but very safe- Humberto's a careful pilot. They also provide ear protection they sanitize between each tour. We had an outstanding experience with Wild Lime. Our tour guide Elijah was just amazing, in all the tours we have taken around the world I think he is the best one. He was very kind, showed a great interest in the passengers, and showed enthusiasm for everything he was showing us. He was also very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area which made things much more interesting. He was even nice enough to go out of his way to make things special for the kids on the trip by giving them a junior ranger map where they can earn a badge of some sort, and this was awesome! Otherwise we were picked up in Key Biscayne by a nice sprinter van complete with all sorts of snacks and drinks for passengers. We did an airboat tour followed by a couple museums. We had complimentary lunch which was good. And then we did another tour where we got to see dolphins! I had never seen any in real life so this was awesome! We then went on a hike, which was great, and they also allow you to wait in air conditioned areas if you desire as it was pretty warm outside. Alligators, dolphins, and sawfish were just a few of the interesting wildlife we saw during our full day tour with Wild Lime Adventures. For those who only go on an air boat trip while visiting the Everglades, you are really missing out! Wild Lime Adventures was the perfect choice for us, showing there is so much more to the Everglades than just alligators (Though getting up close to alligators is always very cool, as well!). The tour, by itself, would have been fantastic, with hikes through a variety of ecosystems, a boat ride in the mangroves, a great lunch, and the iconic airboat ride. However, Zac, our tour guide, was the star of the show! Zac was incredibly knowledgeable and provided historical perspectives to each facet of our tour, while educating us on the wildlife we encountered along the way. We were picked up at our hotel, we were educated on the issues of the Everglades, and on the Flora and fauna of the area. And then we got to go on an airboat amazing! This is an excellent company to use to see the Everglades. They were prompt, picking me up at my hotel and Ben was a very knowledgeable and personable tour guide. The 60 minute airboat ride to an island was great fun, and as expected, we saw alligators. On the half day tour you get a 60 minute ride rather than shorter rides offered by other companies. The nature walk was very interesting and again, we did see alligators, and lots of birds and turtles and fish. This tour shows you the animals out in the wild, not in a contrived "show". We were so lucky to have Stacy and Lindsay as our tour guides to the Everglades. Not only were they the sweetest, but their knowledge of marine life and wild life was incredible!! Lindsay gave my 5 year old daughter a piggy back ride, as we counted alligators along our walk. Stacy arranged lunch and taught us the history of the tribes that lived on the Everglades. Just when we thought it couldn't get better, there was Elvis, our airboat driver. He has been driving these boats since he was 13 years old. He also has a special connection with "Momma" a 60 year old alligator I was so lucky enough to see!! Best decision we ever made to go on this tour, but so lucky to have met Stacy and Lindsay. We choose the full day tour with a wet walk in the Big Cypress National Preserve, a boat trip visiting the 10,000 islands and the traditional air boat trip in the Everglades to spot alligators. The trip was amazing, the guides were organized, friendly and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. Along with my daughter and her fiancé, I took the full day wet tour of the Everglades. We were delighted with our trip. The all day trip got us out into the mangrove forests on the Gulf of Mexico, where we took a speed boat ride through the maze of islands there. We also went on a wet hike in the swamp, and an airboat ride. Lunch outside in Everglades City was delicious and there were many menu choices. And our guide, Zach, was completely amazing with his encyclopedic knowledge of the geology, biology, and history of the Everglades. I was visiting Florida for work and wanted to round off the trip with a visit to the Everglades, an obsession of mine since an early age. I searched for several tours through the Everglades. Most of the search results did not meet my criteria, and/or only offered airboat or thrill boat rides. Then I discovered Wild Lime Adventures. I loved that this outfit had full and 1/2 day tours available across the spectrum, and kept the number of attendees per van to a minimum. I selected the full day tour which included an airboat ride on tribal land, a trip by van where we had lunch and then into Big Cyprus National Preserve for a boat ride through the mangroves of the ten thousand islands, and finally, last but not least, the day ended with a dry walk. Throughout the day, I saw tons of alligators, fish, some turtles, a non-poisonous snake, and so many birds I can't remember the names of them all. We also saw two manatees on the drive and we stopped for a bit to watch natures original zeppelins. It was not only the nature that made the tour, our tour guide Stacy was wonderful and they were highly organized, COVID compliant, and did everything they could to make the trip memorable. Stacy and the operators of the airboat and boat ride, were very knowledgeable about the ecosystem and surrounding nature and animals that call it home, and all of them very nice people. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in nature, be it fish or foul, plants or animals, and about the history of the areas visited, to check it out. They have many tours available. I plan on taking a full day with wet walk instead of dry, recommended to me, the next time I am in Florida, if the season permits. read more
