I used to shop at Ron Jon's when I lived closer to the east coast. Being that I haven't been there…read morein awhile I wasn't sure what to expect. Note I did check out a few other "surf" shops in OCMD that were quite frankly a hot mess and junky. The outside and inside was very pristine and well kept. I love all the brands Oakley, Costa, Rip Curl, etc. The staff was pretty nice. I did buy a Ron Jon pop socket for my phone. Probably overpaid for a Ron Jon logo one but alas I'm from the West Coast and I thought it was cool. When I got back home I found a cute Ron Jon sticker they put in my bag. Clean, Organized and nice upscale merchandise.

But, if you're an anti-consumer like myself, you'll last about three minutes before your eyes will roll back in your head like a shark chomping down on a harbor seal waiting for the deliverance of leaving. I ordered a k2 dmc bmx bike from this company about a year ago, i just got back from iraq and the…read morebike isnt the same bike as the picture.The picture shows that it supposed to be silver but instead i got a black bike. It came incomplete, it has no stem so i cant even put the handle bars on. It is missing the upper part of the gyro/brake system, missing the foot pedals and the pegs it was supposed to come with. I had issues with the owner since the beginning, it took him over 2 mths to deliver the bike. Gave me the run around. I saw that he was trying to sell the same bike on ebay for double the price he had it for on his website. It was horrible dealing with this store and the owner. Never again will i buy from him. I had to spend over $100 just to get the parts that was missing to get this bike going. Shady business beware. I signed up to yelp just to post this and to let people know to watch out if dealing with them.

When I walked in I let the staff know I had never surfed before but was wanting to learn. The man walked around the store with me to show me all my options and gave some recommendations before letting me look on my own. Once I picked a board out they put the fins on for me right there and had me pick out a leash (separate purchase) and attached it for me in the store. With my purchase they also provided a little bag with wax, stickers, and a key for the fins in case I needed any of it. I ended up spending much more than the board I returned to amazon. However, for everything I bought, I believe it was reasonably priced. I am grateful this happened, as I now feel secure knowing I will be learning on a board that is best for me. Not to mention the fact that this board is so much prettier too! Throughout my whole experience at Surfers Supplies, everyone who helped me was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The staff worked as a team and made sure every customer left with what they needed, without acting like "salesman". I would definitely recommend Surfers Supplies for any of your surfing necessities. I will be back to this shop if and when I ever need something new!
