I want to start by saying that I NEVER take the time to leave reviews but in this case I felt I really needed to. Nick and the staff at The Kona Board House are amazing. I'm 40+ and just an intermediate surfer but the help and attention I received there was second to none. Nick was cool and laid back and spent probably 30 min with me each time I bought a board while still handling the phone, rentals and other customers. If you are from New Jersey you should really ride a local board like Kona. If your are not from Jersey you still should as the value can not be beat any where by any other shop. Thanks Nick. Kona is definitely the best surf shop in the area. I've bought everything from a road bike, shoes, sunglasses, watches, surf gear, skateboards and a bunch of other stuff there over the past decade. Their full price gear isn't cheap, but it's a good value; and sometimes you can find a steal in their sale items. The place just has a good vibe, and they have great quality stuff. I live in Boulder, CO now but whenever I visit town (about four times a year), I make a point to check out Kona and see what's up. Great little shop!!! read more

I stopped in on Wednesday 6/14/17. I needed a repair on a valve stem on my bike tire and a few things. The long Blond Hair surfer guy actually knew bikes pretty well. He was very helpful. I walked out in about 10 minutes with a fixed tire, a new tube and some C02 cartridges to ......ride on! Made it to Avalon and back that afternoon. It was a 21 mile training ride for the Pan Ohio Hope Ride to support the American Cancer Society in July. read more

They hooked my son up with a new track pad for his skim board & fixed the damaged end in time to get him back in the water before heading home. I absolutely loved Kona. Their products are great and work exceedingly well. Every time I go down to Wildwood I make it a priority to go there and try to find something cool to buy. They stand behind their products and make sure that their products are in the best condition before selling them to the customers. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping pick out my first skateboard. Staff knew all the sizes and benefits of each item on the board and helped me understand what he was doing and taught me tricks to setting up my board. Loved everything offered and the service was top notch! My family and I first enjoyed a fabulous meal at Dogtooth Bar and Grill and then visited the Kona shop. Very professional staff. Went in to purchase a paddle board, they were extra helpful. We weren't able to get it home that day so they held it and we picked it up the next week. My husband and i were on vacation in Wildwood Nj. His bike broke by the pedals , we searched for new pedal arms and no luck.. went to Konas and they were able to fix bike and had the parts in under 15 mins. Got help with fixing my longboard by an employee named Drew. He took the time to redo my griptape for me and saw off suck bolts on my longboard. I visit kona about 5 times a year in the summer. The items are on the expensive side but well worth it. The service is good and helpful. It is a pleasure on every visit. I plan on returning later this summer for new flipflops and maybe a new pair of sun glasses. read more
