Living in Upstate NY we wouldn't be able to get down there until the weekend. No problem, they held it for us until we drove down this past Saturday. When we got to the shop, it even had a slip of paper with her name on it so it wouldn't accidentally be sold. It was the last of that size and brand. And since it's now after Labor Day, I'm guessing they won't restock until next season. I don't know the guy's name behind the counter, but he did mention he's been surfing the Jersey shore over 50 years. He was amazing. He was the benchmark for awesome customer service. He set up her board with the fins and leash. Gave her a tip about securing the leash when putting the board away. He gave her all kinds of other advice and easily answered every question she threw at him. Now, to put this in perspective, we had been to a shop in Rhode Island and the guy behind the counter was trying to sell her a more advanced board that she didn't want. I told her not to get it. Get the one you want, develop your muscle memory, then get a hard board later down the road. And when I told this to the guy at Ocean Outfitters, he said "Yes! That's what we tell the people that come here for lessons." All in all a very cool experience. I would definitely be back. Will definitely check here first for any other surfing needs.

We met the owner and instantly felt 100% comfortable and at home he was very knowledgeable and personable and reminded me of something. Cape May had this surfer heaven shop right in the heart of downtown amidst the other tourist traps. It was surprisingly stocked with decent surfing brands such as Roxy and Quicksilver .They even had a few noteworthy boards and Sun Bum sun screen. Although I won't be surfing when it is 44 degree out might take a ride when it warms up in the summer if return to Cape May. Parking is a bit of challenge around the shop . Definitely worth a stop in if walking downtown Cape May.

When I tried to return it, the owner denied selling it to me and called me a liar. The young ladies working at the store were pleasant enough, but the owner is a rude dog. Losing $29.99 to a bad beach umbrella is not going to change my life, but to be called a liar because queen nasty doesn't want to stand behind her products is a bit much. I have been coming to Sea Isle City for 40 plus years, and never had anything like that. You would be much better off going to Sands department store (near the Acme) or Dalrymples down on JFK. The owners are pleasant and the customer service is great.

The girls at the front gave a dirty look up and down and didn't say hello never asked what we could need help with. We ended up finding a $60 dollar pair of sunglasses and left. After returning home (we are 0.3 miles away) we found out the glasses screw was coming out so after about 30 mins we went back to exchange them and were told they could not. It's disappointing how bad the customer service is here. If you don't look like them / worth their time they will not cater to you apparently. Will not be coming back

This was late February or early March and fortunately the store was open. We were greeted by a person who I suspect was the owner. We explained the situation and we were totally impressed by the great treatment we received. The replacement turned out to be less expensive than the item returned and I was refunded the difference.I didn't have a receipt and no idea what the shirt cost. I thought I have to review this interaction and kept forgetting to do so. While out to diner I saw a lady wearing a Sand Jamm shirt this evening which motivated me to finally do the review.
