Dirty looks and broken sunglasses Came into the shop looking for sunglasses. The girls at the front gave a dirty look up and down and didn't say hello never asked what we could need help with. We ended up finding a $60 dollar pair of sunglasses and left. After returning home (we are 0.3 miles away) we found out the glasses screw was coming out so after about 30 mins we went back to exchange them and were told they could not. It's disappointing how bad the customer service is here. If you don't look like them / worth their time they will not cater to you apparently. Will not be coming back read more

Great selection of clothing from Hurley, RipCurl, etc. Shirts, shorts, flip flops, sun glasses, boards, and anything else you'd need for an adventurous day or night at the beach. Spent time talking to the gentleman who offers lessons, and will consider bringing my boys back this summer to let them try surfing. Best yet? South end surf shop is in a great location right on beach ave. They carry a ton of male and female clothes. If I ever find myself in cape may and I need to buy a bathing suit this is a place. They carry all of the main surf brands and always have a great selection. I know me and my brother always find something we love. I also love that they carry at the beach American headbands and I can never resist buying the new pattern. read more

The Southend Surf Shop is a nice shop situated comfortably around a handful of great eateries. Here you'll find a large selection of shorts, sandals, flip flops, glasses, some watches. A lot of surf-wear and other beach objects. It seemed like the shop deals in quality over quantity, and the people that work there are fairly knowledgeable. I don't give 5 star reviews because no business is that good, and the biggest thing holding this place from a 4 star is that my last experience was not great. I was blocked off from trying to view some Reef flip-flops for about five minutes by a woman and a man. They were both talking to each other, but ignoring my wife and me. You would have to have lost your situational awareness, or had complete disregard for those around you to not notice the customers looking to get to the product behind you. Their general attitude fit right in with the local snobbish children that often run the streets of Cape May at night. Feel free to check this shop out for your related beach needs, but do not feel pressured to solely do business here. I've been to a few other shops with a much friendlier staff and better selection, all within walking distance. read more

Some of the best in-store service I've received. My group made it clear that we weren't going to be purchasing a pair that day, and we were primarily there to do some research for a family member with very specific needs. The guy working was so incredibly helpful and delightful to be around even though he knew we weren't going to buy anything! It was amazing. We now know exactly what we need to get, all thanks to him. I really wish it was possible to buy our pair of sunglasses from this shop just to give them the business, but unfortunately the specialized prescription can't be done in sunglass shops by NJ state law.
