I love the mission and model of Wild Pastures. So I signed up for a subscription, and received my first order in a timely fashion and it was packaged well. The chicken and meat I got was very good (beef not "great"), but I was still in to continue the journey. That is until I went to customize my next box order. The interface is really clunky and non-intuitive. Being unable to delete items even though I was exceeding the original box $dollar amount. I appreciate that this is probably a small business that is coordinating a lot with their various suppliers. And I want them to be successful. I just need a really easy and far more flexible web/cart experience to earn my trust for being a subscriber. So I cancelled my subscription. But saying that, I still see myself using them as they had a ton of unique cuts like oxtail (for my husbands favorite Osso Bucco), beef bacon (haven tried it yet but I'm excited to). read more

I appreciate your placing extra dry ice on our order as temp here in AZ over 100 daily. I like the beef tallow I ordered and am anxious to use it. I want to say that quite a few of my items have small tears in the plastic, so to prevent freezer burn I've had to use my Food Saver machine to seal them tightly..a real pain. I'm just using the last of my cancelled wild pastures meat tonight. As another reviewer noted, it seems the vacuum sealing isn't great, but since there is no use by date on the package, I don't know if that was the problem. I keep quite a lot of food in my freezer and the lack of date is ultimately what made me stop my subscription. I have to cycle what I have! They told me it was labeled with a code by industry standards but at least 2 packages I had at the time they told me that had no numbers, lots, or any sort of label other than the outside telling me what it was. Now obviously if vacuum seal fails, the meat is freezer burned. Some of the beef cuts I got were quite tough. I just attributed that to grass fed? Though bison is grass fed and not usually that tough. Even young venison is not as tough as the strip steak I had. It's a great concept and food arrived fine and I'm sure much healthier than grocery store, but ultimately I simply MUST have a date on my food. Especially for the prices that are charged. I do support local farmers. I just do it in person now. read more

Their website is easy to use and provides a lot of choices. We always have the option (though we've never used it) to delay or reschedule our orders. I have ordered from several farms. But I truly like Wild Pastures the most. The beef, chicken and pork always taste fresh and are packaged extremely well and with clear labeling. I love the variety of cuts offered. But the best thing is the flexibility to change, add, or subtract from the order. I love being able to swap out cuts and meat type for something else for any given monthly delivery. I'm not locked into the same cuts month after month. The deliveries are prompt and arrive nicely frozen. The customer service is responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this company. There are many out there. Many new ones. I just love Wild Pastures! The variety of meats, the customizable boxes, and the ease of pausing my shipments as long as I want if I have too much product!! Not to mention their customer service is top notch. I mentioned once that the shaved steak I received in two different boxes were cut very differently and they immediately reached out to get my feedback and do a quality control. They called one day after noticing that my box was lost and hadn't arrived, told me they shipped out a new box that day.... It showed up before the original box(but it had to be thrown out because it was already thawing from a USPS mess up)! They offer amazing seasonal meats like spiral cut hams, they put a gorgeous giant wild pastures cookbook for free in one of my boxes this year for being a long-time customer!!
