Let me start by saying our guide Alex took two elementary students, two adults and four senior citizens, (with arthritic hips and knees), on a 16 mile white water rafting trip. At the end, we were all ready to head up river and float down again!! We geared up at the Wild River office. The staff was exceptionally helpful with recommending the right gear for our trip. We were shuttled to the drop in point, with our guides Alex and Andrew providing helpful info on what to do and expect. Low water levels, or "boney" conditions as the guides called it, plagued the first leg of our journey. Alex had to hop out several times to drag us off the rocks. But, after a few miles, we progressed into deeper water. Before we hit the rapids, we stopped for lunch on a rocky sandbar. Alex and Andrew, who was guiding the other boat in our expedition, laid out a lunch of cold cuts, cheese, nine grain bed, fresh lettuce, tomato and onions, condiments, chips, cookies and two beverages. They set up tables, had non-disposable plates, cups and cutlery. We dined sitting on a tree trunk that had washed ashore. After getting our strength restored, we packed up, leaving nothing behind and headed down the river. We got warmed up on a couple of rapids that Alex appropriately named "fluffy bunnies". That, of course, got the six year old giggling! We progressed to the more serious rapids; a Class 3 who's exit was guarded by a nasty rock named The Can Opener, and several more Class Two rapids. Alex provided us with excellent instructions on what to do on each rapid before we "dropped in". The most technical rapid required we do a maneuver called a "toilet bowl", we spun around, then dropped in sideways. Those of us on the left side had to defy gravity by leaning in to avoid falling out of the raft. We succeeded, not losing anyone overboard!! Everyone had huge smiles as we floated down the river!! When we pulled out of the river, our whole crew stated we would love to do it again. If you're looking for an awesome rafting experience, make Wild River Adventures your first choice. read more

We really enjoyed our time on the Flathead River with Wild River yesterday. I called the day before, and they were able to get my reservation booked. We did the half day whitewater option. It was a really good mix of fun rapids and scenic views. We saw a bird dive down and catch a fish, which was super entertaining. Our guide Shea had a great sense of humor and kept us laughing throughout the trip. I'd recommend this trip! read more

Walked in the day before our trip to check if reservations were available and the lady at the front counter was so sweet and ready to accommodate our family with a smile. Bridgette, our guide was phenomenal!! She was a ray of sunshine, full of enthusiasm! Bridgette's energy and humor had our entire bus laughing to the river put in. We fortunately had Bridgette as our guide. We know we got the best...sorry Chris. We were one of 2 families with both families having kids the same age. Bridgette was interested in each of us and was was full of local tidbit history about the river and the surrounding area. She allowed the kids to experience riding the bull, guiding the boat, and any brave person to take a chilly dip into the river. With little fore thought, my family and I decided to go rafting. We called the 24 hour 800# and booked a 1/2 day trip for the following day. We showed up a 1/2 hour prior to departure and the adventure was everything we hoped it would be. Went for a 1/2 day whitewater trip for the 4th of July/bachelorette party - it was awesome! The scenery was so gorgeous and the water was fun enough to get soaked but not too scary. Got to jump in for the calm parts and play games on the raft. The guide was excellent (Boon? Babs? Greg?? His name was ever changing). He had a lot of fun facts about the area and gave us a list of sights to check out as well as bars to hit up for the evening. Would recommend this for anyone! read more

My husband and I had an amazing float last year with Forrest. When it ended we turned to each other and both said "We are taking the kids next year!" Brought our four teenagers on Monday for such a fun day down the river. The rapids did not disappoint nor did our guides. Dunbar and Brandon made it such a fun day. We did a half day float and got private boats so there were only three of us on each. Made for a more thrilling ride through the rapids. Locals also highly recommend the company. We know the owner of Lakestream Fly in Whitefish and when we asked him who he recommended for rafting he immediately said, "Wild River!" We had an awesome experience with Wild River! Originally decided to go with them versus others in the area because they seem to be the smallest and least corporate company, and definitely glad we went with them. They are cheaper than all the others, and they take you down the same section of river and you hit the same rapids. Our guide (Zach) was great! He was very knowledgeable about the area and even shared his fishing spots =] we took the sport raft (wild side?) down the river, so it was just me, my boyfriend, and the guide. I would recommend this instead of the large raft just for a more personal experience and more excitement on the rapids. read more

What a blast!!! Our group occupied a full raft. We went in August when water level is a bit low, what made perfect for newbies. My joke was that we paid to paddle! Our guide did the raft maneuvering and told us when to paddle or not and what side. The scenery was absolutely worth the money. You can see fish on the bottom of the clear and crisp river water. We are going to MT again in August of 2013 and already made our reservations! Definitely a must do! Whoever did not enjoyed this trip, need to get a happy pill. read more
