Good Morning! After my son had a horrible fall at 3 years old, his front 3 baby teeth (and an extra incisor tooth) were dead and my dentist said they'd turn brown and she wanted to pull all 4 out. She also said my son would need braces. I went straight to Dr. Kapus! (At the time, he was still in Cupertino). He said the teeth were dead, but the gums were strong and holding them in place, so they could fall out naturally. When my son was 5 years old, my dentist STILL wanted to pull his teeth. By 8, he lost all the 4 dead teeth (naturally). Dr. Kapus said if my dentist pulled those teeth, my son's adult teeth would've moved forward and he'd run out of space in his mouth. We're still watching his teeth, but Dr. Kapus said my son will probably only need a spacer to help his small jaw make room for his adult teeth. Much different diagnose than my dentist gave! We go to Dr. Kapus (now in Livermore) once a year to have him check the progress on my 9 year old son's teeth. The trip from Santa Clara is well worth it because everyone there is incredibly outgoing, friendly and kind. Plus Dr. Kapus has a fun, child-friendly office that always keeps my son entertained. I went to Wild Smiles for invisalign and it was a great office. Dr. Kapus was really honest on the first consultation. My sister and I went in and he was very honest when he told my sister she really didn't need anything done. He also told me I didn't NEED anything but I could do some small cosmetics fixes if I wished to. The price was good, and he charges the same so invisalign and braces so I went ahead with invisalign. My favorite thing about Dr. Kapus is that he doesn't stop until you're satisfied. I went through a year of aligners and received my final tray. I came back because I wasn't happy and wanted to move a specific tooth a bit further. He put me through my second round of case refinement without a problem! This office is top of the line! I have been extremely pleased since meeting Dr.Kapus and his entire staff over 4 years ago. I have been a dental hygienist in the area for 13 years and have seen all of the "work" by the many Livermore orthodontist and when my son needed orthodontia I chose Dr.Kapus. But, being the dedicated parents we had to do our due diligence, and we "interviewed" every Ortho in town. Winner? Hands down, Wild Smiles!!!!! BEST IN EVERYTHING: office staff, Dr Kapus personally sees each patient (and a big deal to Sam that he actually remembered her every time, even when we saw him in the store!), activities for siblings of every age, best bottom line price (never paid a penny more than they quoted at the first visit), and they take care of the waiting parent/guardian with an espresso and a cookie Sam even had to stay in the braces about a year longer than expected (3 adult teeth missing and one nub for another - wanted to see if nub would grow/come in) with no additional charges; even with about 3 emergency visits!!!! read more

I cannot speak highly enough about Wild Smiles in Livermore run by Dr. Kapus. We had a nightmare invislign situation with my daughter so I actually spoke to the CEO and chief counsel for Align Technology (makers of the invislign product) who have stepped in to help make sure the damage that was done is minimized as much as possible and to redo her whole invisalign treatment. I told them to pick the best orthodontist in the bay area and that I was willing to drive up to two hours and Align sent us to Dr. Kapus. The office environment is wonderful. The staff is crazy friendly. So far, I'm super happy with his treatment plan to undo what he can of what the previous doctor did and to give my daughter the outcome we expected with round one with the other doc. It's worth the drive. Even the makers of Invisilign think so as it was their referral from the CEO/Chief Counsel that sent us there. read more

My daughter recently got braces at Wild Smiles with Dr. Kapus. She was so scared to get braces, but when we went there the atmosphere made all that go away. The staff is very friendly, and doesn't have a problem with my son playing video games while he waits for his big sis to finish with her apt. It's funny even he get's excited to go there and he doesn't even have braces!! I guess that's a good thing because I'm sure we will be there for him in a couple years. They also have a great incentive for the kids to do good in school and in sports. Wow wow wow! I went in for a braces consultation yesterday (which was free).. I was beyond satisfied with my visit. The staff's friendliness is an A+! The decorations & stuff is beyond cute everything from painted animals on the wall to a little play area.. Oh there was also a place to brush your teeth.. I checked in through the computer then took a seat to fill out some forms which took less than 5 minutes. As soon as I was done filling out the forms I was escorted into another room & then they took x-rays.. It was the quickest process ever. Tina the person who did the x-rays was very friendly. After that I was brought into Dr. Kapus' office & he took a look at my teeth & explained everything to me.. He got into a lot of detail which was great & unlike the other orthodontists I went to, he told me the truth instead of saying I only need braces so that he can get money. This review relates only to my experience with the front desk ladies. I personally like Dr. Kapus. He has a wonderful kid-friendly office and has always been professional and friendly. I took my two older children there a few years ago. The ladies at the front had mixed up my son and daughters visits with insurance and it was a nightmare to get it fixed all because they had made an error and then wanted to bill me for it. Cindy the office manager is not very friendly at all. I've spoken with her a few times over the phone and once I said who I was or whom I was calling for, her tone had changed - no soft skills what so ever! 5 of my 6 kids so far need braces. I took my older two there since I won a discount at the children's fair, but have since transferred to another Orthodontist in town and have had a much better and positive experience with that office staff. My experience was great! A Long Journey but so happy with the results. The staff was great and Dr Kapus even better. They definitely gave me back my confidence, my smile before was very poor, but after braces were off, I was amazed of the results, wasn't expecting a great smile! At the end everything was worth it, 9 teeth extracted and pain during my 24 months treatment, especially doing the adjustments every 4-6weeks. My Son went to Dr. Kapus, it was a great experience. I had decided that since my teeth had shifted, even though I had braces years ago, I would try invisaline. He made it so that I only had to go through half of the treatments which was much less costly. I also like the way he and his staff explains everything in detail. As far as the two rating below, I had the opposite experience. They fought for us with my insurance company and didn't back down. It sounds like part of her problem was on the insurance side. We did orthodontists work for both of our kids (Daughter and Son). Dr. Kapus did a wonderful job. We LOVE the way how Dr.Kapus turned both of our kids teeth aligned so perfect. It took bit longer to complete the treatment because of the complexity but we were amazed by the end result.
