They have a ton of lunch specials. Plus we ordered a lychee martini in the middle of the day, what a treat. As the kids say, "yolo"... or maybe the kids don't say that any more. We ordered: lychee martini veggie yaki udon** chef's lunch special** two à la carte sushi rolls ** denotes a lunch special which comes with salad & ginger dressing and miso soup. Their food was fresh and came out quickly. I loved my sushi bento box and it also came with 6 pcs of California roll and some veggie tempura. Everything was made to order. We had a nice server who looked so familiar to me (from my college days) but I could not pinpoint where I thought I remembered him, and was too shy to ask. Anyway, wild tuna sushi is great! Their food is fresh and their service is excellent. It's an established you can tell is well maintained, everything was spick and span. Their lunch specials are such a great deal. I've had the opportunity to eat here a few times now and I feel I should share my experience. Let's first start with the location... hidden away in a shopping center but visible enough to attract attention with plenty of parking on the nights they get busy. Yes they do get busy at times! With that being said their service has always been top notch! We were always greeted and taken to our table. They have plenty of options on the menu as far as food goes but I do wish they would make their menu a bit easier to read with pictures (that would help). The ambiance is great but when it gets busy, the bar area does get loud which spills over to the dining area. It's not a huge issue in my opinion but worth noting. If you want to give them a try I really don't think you will be disappointed, I would highly recommend it! read more

Table was sticky AF even after having it wiped again- I have to assume that's related to something having to do with cleaning it all the time and perhaps wearing down the finish. But highly annoying to eat on. Food came out very fast and very fresh. However, it was literally the worst miso soup I've ever had. I want to give five stars because the sushi is absolutely delicious! I've dined in and picked up take out and received nothing less than mouthwatering Maki! The reason for 4 stars is simply price. You get what you pay for is a motto I agree with. Food has always been the number one thing I will spend a lot of money on because it's worth it in my opinion. Wild Tuna, as noted above, delivers impeccable food, however the price is just too high. It's an example of when I would rather go to a slightly less tasty sushi restaurant because the price is so much better it makes it worth it. If Wild Tuna decreased their price just slightly I would purchase their food more often, ultimately increasing their revenue long term. What draws me into this restaurant is my craving for authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine not to mention the best Cosmo in town! I am always amazed by Wild Tuna's 4 star rating. I have tried them several times and have been consistently disappointed. Michelin Star sushi chefs have said that the taste and quality of sushi is determined by 90% rice and 10% fish. Meaning - you have to have great sushi rice with great sushi vinegar and sugar to make amazing tasting sushi. I am not sure what they do here but I do not believe that they are using quality ingredients. The service is indifferent and the quality of sushi is terrible unfortunately. The rice is stale and tastes like rice from a Chinese restaurant. On my most recent take out - the nigiri had an off putting taste of peanut oil and Chinese rice wine vinegar. Perfectly acceptable if I am having Dim Sum but not good in Sushi. The quality of the fish is hit or miss. I guess that I would patronize this place if this was the only game in town. However, there are a multitude of Sushi restaurants in Naperville - Sushi & Noodle, Kiku, Blue Sake Sushi Grill and Sushi House. Any of these are far superior to Wild Tuna. read more
