The food here is pretty good. The sushi rolls are humungous. Be careful not to overorder. There is a charge if you can't finish the All You Can Eat sushi. The rolls are filled with large pieces of fish. The crab ragoon is very creamy. The only reason that Zuka got a positive review is because of the quality of the food. Top notch all around. The service is SLOW. Get your order in right away if you want to eat quickly. Our server didn't take all of the table's orders at the same time. Because of this our food came out at all different times. It was awkward at the end when there was twenty minutes between the first and last person finishing their meal. We were seated in the back corner next to where the boxes of beer and soda are kept. The bathroom is dirty and the hand dryer is underpowered. The restaurant is dark. All of the windows are covered up. The atmosphere is not very inviting.

It was the perfect spot for dinner! Can't believe I waited this long to get hibachi! Came here for my friend's birthday. There's booths if you don't want to do the hibachi experience & can get sushi. The food and service were really fast. It was a great experience! We weren't rushed either. I got the garlic shrimp, it came with soup, salad, noodles AND fried rice, and even ice cream at the end. Will definitely come back again!

Zuma is great! I've been here twice, once for the teppanyaki dinner and another time for a to-go order of their lunch special. The prices are reasonable for the portions of food that you get and their service was always prompt and friendly. When I had dinner here with my husband we shared a communal table for the teppanyaki with a few other parties. We got a few fun cocktails to go with our dinner. More recently I was craving some Asian food and decided to try their lunch special for pick-up. They had a tofu and veggie teppanyaki lunch special for less than $18 that comes with chicken fried rice, noodles, mushroom soup, and mayo-ginger salad. I had called ahead and my food was ready within 10 minutes. The portion of food carried me through 2 meals at home. There will be plenty of leftovers, and I was satisfied with their food, no complaints. I've seen a truck around their parking lot that advertises bringing teppanyaki to your home, if hired for private catering. That actually sounds like a really fun idea, I am so curious about the details. A solid 4 stars for Zuma's teppanyaki. Check out their lunch specials or come for a communal teppanyaki dinner experience. It's a great time and their food was pretty consistent the few times I've been. I will be back!

A solid choice if you're looking for AYCE sushi (I did not try the teppanyaki yet). This spot meets a lot of needs well and is not a bad spot to bring a group. Parking is plentiful and the interior has enough larger tables to accommodate people. Spacing can be more relaxed or tight depending on where in the restaurant you sit, but I found that the table spacing is better than average if you're comparing to many other sushi AYCE offerings. Service isn't fast, but it isn't super slow either -- given the amount of orders and plates to manage, this is about average for an AYCE sushi restaurant. The decor isn't the most amazing, but it gets the job done for creating a Japanese style atmosphere. The food here overall is better than expected given the price. The appetizers like soup, salad, teppanyaki noodles, crab rangoons, etc. are a bit on the plainer side, similar to what you'd get at most AYCE sushi offerings. They aren't bad at all, they just don't have any special elements to make them particularly memorable. If there's one appetizer to get though, it would be the crab rangoon. The sushi was a bit of a surprise - maybe uneven in some offerings but overall positive. The nigiri, while not being the fattiest cuts of fish - were offered in surprisingly thick slices without a ton of rice. All the ones I tried were pretty good though, and something I'd definitely order again. The rolls varied quite a bit - though overall I preferred the less saucy items. The dragon roll was one of my favorites, with a good level of crunchiness and the eel and avocado working well together. I also liked the alaskan roll quite a bit with the generously sized piece of salmon and creamy avocado. The super crunch roll was another favorite which wasn't too spicy, but the crunch added a nice texture contrast without feeling too heavy. The sweet potato roll here had a bit too much sweet potato in relation to the sauce and fried part for me, though still overall enjoyable. The rainbow roll also wasn't a bad compromise between trying lots of fish and feeling healthy with the california roll underneath. The sushi I didn't like as much was most any of the special rolls that had spicy tuna or spicy salmon, with extra spicy mayo. I found it had overall too mushy of a feel and way too much sauce overall. The simpler rolls with less sauce I felt were better constructed with a better ratio of ingredients. Overall, this is a good spot to go if you want to have AYCE sushi with a group. The price point is very good, with a surprisingly good amount of fish offered in the maki. This exceeds expectations and is a good value dinner option.

We visited on Sunday for lunch. Ordered chicken teriyaki udon and Yakisoba. Sauce was off taste, chicken was dry and (how many pieces were there? Maybe less than an ounce). Udon was very chewy and they use instant ramen noodles for Yakisoba?? Rating in this restaurant is good, so will give them another chance. Try hibachi next time.

Sushi on NYE - why not? Was it the best sushi I've ever had? No. But it was decent, and price was correct as well. I probably won't order from here again though, since I have much better places in my rotation

Wow! The efficiency and portion sizes here are incredible. I have never been to a hibachi where I was in and out in less than an hour. They know how to make it a fun experience but also a quick one. Great food and amazing service!

I love Zuka food. They are building a new restaurant in boilingbrook, right off of I55 expressway. They are close on Tuesdays and check out their lunch specials, Everyday except Tuesday and Sundays. Try the garlic shrimp very good. My husband and I had them come out to our house and cook hibachi for our anniversary, lots of food and very good.

Place was on my list to try for a while, so I decided to stop in for a weekend lunch. The first thing I noticed was lunch specials on a Saturday?! Score! I ordered 3 sushi rolls, which came with soup AND salad! For 14.95! What a deal! I also ordered a lemon drop martini, which was super tasty. Service was excellent. Ken took care of our table and made the drinks. Food runners were fast. Plenty of parking.

More sushi! My fiancée and I were out shopping in the Naperville and South Naperville area and decided on sushi. Let me preface, we love sushi, but we've never been here. The restaurant is family-like. The staff is extremely friendly. They are also quick! Our waiter was hustling all over, doing everything. I ordered a Pina Colada. Delicious! Saturday lunch specials are great, too. 3 sushi rolls, soup, and salad for $14.95! Please note, they do offer hibachi, but we opted for sushi. It was good; my only request would be for the rolls to be more chled/less warm. Otherwise, great place!

I've been here for the teppanyaki which is very good, but this review is for the all you can eat Sushi. There are plenty of available options for sushi and they are all available on the AYCE menu along with appetizers, soup or salads. The quality of the sushi is fantastic and fresh. Im addicted to their cucumber salad, so we always make sure to get that along with sushi, a roll and this time we tried the s Sashimi. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and not overloaded with rice. The service was very attentive and the wait to put new orders in filled very quickly. They have plenty of parking, and while the space is older it's clean and well kept. read more

We used to love this place and come often because the service is friendly and food was delicious. It's been awhile since we were here last so my family and I were very surprised at the quality of food and taste...not in a good way. The yum yum sauce and the darker dipping sauce looks and tastes watered down. The food was very salty and overcooked. And I'm so disappointed that the prior scallops were plump and juicy but now, it's clearly sliced horizontally in half so half the plumpness and really showing how the restaurant is skimming in their ingredients, watering down sauces, and just not tasty any more. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back. Gave 2 stars because service was still attentive and friendly. read more

Honest opinion, Zuka is good not great. Their hibachi is alright. Rice is too salty to me & their steak and chicken needs work. Some of the sushi is good but some of it is really flavorless. Gyozas are decent and crab ragoons are okay. This is coming from someone who LOVES eating sushi. read more

We ordered a variety of takeout. The pros: all the food was clearly prepared fresh and fresh ingredients were used. We enjoyed the sushi selections; they had a good even ratio between rice to fillings. The chicken dishes, such as the orange chicken and chicken lo mein were very good! However, the beef dishes that we ordered like the Mongolian beef, seem to lack in flavor. There just really wasn't a lot of sauce or flavor on the beef dishes. Personally, I also wish that vegetables like peppers and onions were sliced Thinner, which makes it more presentable and more enjoyable to eat. read more

Incredible experience at Zuka for dinner. We arrived around 8pm on a Friday night and had no wait for a booth. We had several staff coming to greet us, take our order, drop off food, refill drinks, etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. They provided top notch service. We ordered Sushi as an appetizer - highly recommend the Chicago Fire Roll. We also ordered the Steak and Garlic Shrimp hibachi dinner that came with soup, salad, rice, noodles, veggies + sauces! We also got the Steak Udon Noodle dish that was delicious. Everything came out fast and hot! After our meal, they asked if we wanted vanilla or chocolate ice cream and brought us out a scoop each with the bill. Sitting in the booth area felt a bit more private and we could see some of the hibachi show at the table next to us. Overall a 10/10 experience and we can't wait to go back! read more

Let me start by saying I've gone to pretty much every sushi restaurant in the area over the past 20 years, and this was truly one of the best experiences I've had. The 1st major plus was going on a Monday night, and everything was still very very fresh. The sashimi fish cuts were huge and delish. The amount of fish surrounding the speciality rolls was also impressive. Not thin little strips, but the size some restaurants serve for sashimi. The staff was very attentive and definitely wanted their customers happy. Zuka will be getting lots of return business!!! read more

We come here for hibachi and sushi lunch specials and have never been disappointed. Service is always quick and the food is always delicious. It is pretty reasonably priced for lunch and I would highly recommend checking it out! They also have a Japanese Soda that my step daughters love so that's a plus! read more

Had hibachi dinner out with a big group of friends on New Year's Eve. The wait staff were quick, took accurate orders, and were very efficient. Hibachi chef had some mad skills. I loved how they had amazing food, quick service, fresh and hot food, and all the workers were sooooo kind. We were treated like the most important people wearing casual clothes. I saw the chef cut up both on the grill, and even after I asked him if he was giving me filet, he put the regular steak on my plate. My mom and I stopped in here for lunch because I felt like Japanese; turns out it was their third day of being open! But they seem to have things together so far. I got the shrimp and vegetable tempura udon soup, which was composed of a bowl of soy-based soup with chewy, springy udon noodles and a tower of tempura fried shrimp and veggies (onion, sweet potato, broccoli, zucchini) with a dish of sauce. Tasty and filling, but got a bit salty by the end. My mom just had a virgin strawberry daiquiri which she said erred on the sweet side (not surprisingly). Our waitress was cheery and checked in with us several times. The decor is very fun, with Japanese themed murals wrapping around the room. There are regular tables as well as hibachi grills in the middle of the room. Music was kind of odd as we heard "All I Want For Christmas is You" more than once (in February). This place is our fav hibachi! We come here for the hibachi food- specifically the shrimp, chicken, noodles, friend rice and yum yum (the best yum yum ever. It's thin in a great way, and has the best flavor). Their meals always leave us with leftovers, because they are generous with their portions without being absurdly huge. My kids love the complimentary ice cream with the meal. The staff is so fast and friendly. Pricing is fair for what you get. read more

Half of our table (a family of 4 with kids) left, because the kids were hungry - and again, while it is Valentine's Day, they had a 5:30pm reservation, and they finally walked out after over an hour. We and the other couple stayed, but after all was said and done, we spent 90 minutes from seating to receipt. The food was good overall - we had gyoza dumplings, and Mai Tais for drinks, both were great. I went with steak and scallops - the scallops were pretty sloppy and underwhelming, but the steak was very well done. My husband had steak and chicken, and it was also quite good. So while it scratched that 20 year itch, it was just ok. I probably won't be back on purpose.

As others have mentioned a negative as the parking because they shared with other businesses and there's not enough parking but definitely a place worth your while. And the USA won!

I agree with some reviews where the wait and service can take a while. We've been here twice and…read morethe first time we came at an off time and got seated right away because we were told to seat ourselves. The second time, it was Monday when the oysters are $1.25 and we weren't acknowledged, so we decided to seat ourselves at an open table we saw just to be told to wait and that someone would be with us....we stood at the counter waiting for a good 5 minutes and no one came to us so we sat on the bench in the front for what felt like 15-20 minutes. Finally, someone came just as I was getting ready to pick another place for dinner. Based on that wait time to get seated, we were smart enough to put in everything we wanted to order for our meal since we knew it would take a while to get someone's attention again. I like coming to Shuckin' because of that oyster deal and everyone else might have the same idea which is why they were so busy. Minus the wait and mid service, what brings up the rating for me is their food. Everything I've gotten here is pretty good and I haven't gotten anything yet that I didn't like.

Went here tonight to celebrate my sister in laws birthday and she has never had hibachi so I wanted to make it special. I have been to many many hibachi places over the years and they were all just good. So of course I set out to find something different. I read reviews and looked at pictures and decided on Zuka. It looked to be a fun lively place from the beautifully decorated pictures. From beginning to end was a wonderful time, the staff was was friendly and our chef was amazing! And the food and drinks were out of this world. We had a little bit of everything and none of it disappointed! Extremely reasonable I might add as well! I will definitely be telling everyone about this place and we will definitely be returning customers! Thank you Zuka for a great time! read more

We went for my daughter's birthday on Friday 8/27 the minute we walked in to t was very warm. The longer we stayed the hotter it hot, I'm assuming the air was not working. When it's that hot and your spending $200 they really should tell you! We could not eat our food we felt like we were going to pass by out! I asked for. Manager, no one came to table! I called and someone was supposed to call me no one has! The couple bites Of food was excellent but I cannot believe it goat $200 for a horrible experience! read more

Zuka did a wonderful job on their food and customer services. I had my birthday the day before the mother's day, and we decided to celebrate it on Sunday. They were extremely busy which was not surprised. The food we ordered was late which were totally understandable, anywhere else had same situation on mother's day. Their food was well prepared and fresh, and the owner was so sincere and courteous. We also got several apologies about the waiting. This place is definitely worthy of a five star. read more

Me and my family went for the hibachi grill and had the great time here! Great quality and attention to details! The food is well prepared and tasty! Such a fabulous place for family! Highly recommend！ Second time come back, the service was a little long than usual in Friday night, but the FOOD didn't disappointed me at all, they were still keeping their high qualities on everything. The hibachi chef Jerry is always nice and friendly. I feel Zuka is the only restaurant worth a wait. read more

Zuka in Naperville is a wonderful spot for sushi and hibachi! The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the hibachi dishes are always cooked to perfection. The service is consistently great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere is small and cozy, which makes it feel intimate and inviting, though it can fill up quickly. I'm so glad this new sushi restaurant opened up in Naperville! I tried it for the first time today and I'm definitely impressed! I ordered a Godzilla Roll and Fire Dragon Roll, both were so delicious! The atmosphere is great and decor very lovely as well. They also offer hibachi where they perform in front of you, the families there tonight seemed to have had a great time! I will definitely try hibachi next time! read more

Food and service was very good didn't like the lemon drop that I ordered. Everything was hot and fresh. I put down that it was a birthday celebration and I didn't receive anything birthday related when I made the reservation and told them when I and my table were there. But otherwise good food. read more

Coming back for hibachi. Ordered filet and scallop, came with noodles and fired rice, and the portions were very generous. The steak was so juicy and delicious, and the Chef was so energetic and entertaining. The hibachi is definitely a great special occasions place! read more

I always like to give a try to new restaurant, they didn't disappoint me at all this time. The sushi rolls were the best I've ever had, and they do have options for hibachi and AYCE. The staffs were attentive and enthusiastic. Definitely coming back! read more

Been here several times for the hibachi dinner. Kids love the show and the food is good too. Portions are huge. Always get at least 3 meals out of one order. read more
