Don't sleep on this one! The food was excellent. We ordered the tasting menu and our friends chose a different menu (both pictured). Talk about melt in your mouth! The staff were very kind and helpful with explaining the menu and the various dishes. The atmosphere was modern yet cozy.

Unfortunately, this was a bad experience overall. The food was disappointing, the service was poor, and it felt extremely overpriced for what we got. We were told we could grill our own meats, which was part of the appeal--but then were charged for the server to cook them anyway. That should have been clearly communicated upfront. Service was painfully slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty (only two parties total). It took 29 minutes just to get the check and pay. Yet the 3 workers could pour themselves drinks at the bar, even a hand raise or staring at him didn't work. Small details were off too. The edamame came out completely unsalted, and the receipt listed it as "no salt," which we never ordered. It felt careless. The only bright spot was the kimchi fried rice, that was genuinely good. Between the seed oils used, inconsistent communication, slow service, and high prices, this place didn't come close to justifying the cost. Won't be returning

Sho Kalbi was an excellent experience from start to finish. Tonight they earned a place in our top 3 Naperville restaurants along side Sullivan's and Meson Sabika. Hit just right. The service was genuinely friendly and attentive, we felt like people rather than "customers. It was attentive without feeling overbearing. One thing that really stood out was the atmosphere it wasn't loud or chaotic. The seating is well spaced, making it comfortable and easy to actually enjoy the meal and one on one conversation. The food was outstanding. We definitely judge a Korean place hard with the first taste of Kimchi. It was there. Fermented with perfect balance. The meats were clearly high-end, beautifully displayed and prepared, and full of flavor. Everything felt thoughtfully done, from presentation to pacing. The vibe strikes a great balance: modern and polished, but not cold or pretentious. It feels upscale without feeling stiff. Definitely a spot I'd recommend. We were so overdue for a higher end Korean restaurant.

Sho is a new chic Korean/Japanese BBQ restaurant that just soft opened without any fanfare. I was lucky enough to eat while it's not too busy as they test things out, as I was told the menu is still evolving. Personally I really enjoyed the wagyu and rib-eye cuts on the grill, along with homemade kimchi and potato salad banchan. The kimchi fried rice, kimchi stew, and japchae are also phenomenal. Looks perfect for small groups or date nights where you can try different steak cuts, either cooked by your server or by your party. I opted to test my server but feel free to do you. Very excited to try out the rest of the menu!

No 1 spot in Naperville if your looking for great food. It's very nice inside and the employees have been extra accommodating!!!

The no 1 place to eat if your in Naperville, food quality exceptional and the place is very nice inside!

Our bbq order -- kalbi and Australian wagyu

Took my dad here for an early Father's Day dinner and had a wonderful time! We had one order of the kalbi and one order of the Australian wagyu. The meat was delicious! High quality, tender, well seasoned and well cooked. Together with the generous side dishes that were included with the meal we left full and satisfied. Extra props to the very attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Came here for NYE and tried the Australian Wagyu and kalbi. Service was great. I love how there is a front closet to put your coats in so they don't smell like food. They grill for you or you can grill yourself. It's nice to finally have a good Korean bbq place in Naperville! Only suggestion is I wish the kalbi was a little more flavorful. The Australian Wagyu was really good! They ran out of American Wagyu when we went. We will be back! Check this place out!

We can't stop thinking about Sho Kalbi & the flavors we experienced, we've been here twice now- had to bring our friends the second time, & are already planning our next visit! Everything we had was a hit from the gyoza, yakisoba, kimchi fried rice, marinated kalbi, Australian wagyu, & mini desserts. We appreciated the fresh high quality meats, the noticeable care taken in the marinate, flavorful variety of banchan & sauces, kind attentive staff, upscale atmosphere, & the music!! 11/10 would recommend

I came here with my family of eight, which I understand can…read morebe a little complicated for a restaurant, but honey, I made this reservation THREE WEEKS in advance. Three. Weeks. So I thought we were all set. Our reservation was for 6:00, and we arrived at 5:54. We were told to wait until six, which was perfectly fine. Six o'clock rolls around and we're told they're still cleaning the table. Okay, we wait. Then we wait. And wait. Thirty minutes later, we find out the people who had the table STILL hadn't even left. Baby...what exactly were we reserving three weeks ago, a future dream? They offered us a complimentary appetizer, which I appreciate in theory, but when you've got a party of eight waiting 40 minutes past their reservation time, I'm not really looking for the cheapest appetizer on the menu. I'm looking for the table I reserved. Eventually, we were seated, and thank GOD for our server Alexis B, because they completely turned the experience around. Funny, knowledgeable, incredibly kind, and genuinely one of the best servers I've ever had. If I could give them five stars separately, I would. They made us feel welcome and somehow kept the whole table laughing after that rocky start. The food had some hits and misses. The crab cake was a little too spicy for my taste, although the rest of the table enjoyed it. The mini sliders, however? DELICIOUS. That buttery, well seasoned bun was doing exactly what it needed to do. Then came my Entourage burger, and baby...THAT burger understood the assignment. It was absolutely packed with flavor. So good that I practically inhaled it. My server even asked if I wanted another one because apparently I ate it fast enough to qualify for a second round. Unfortunately, the management situation left a lot to be desired. After the issues getting our table, the managers seemed to keep watching our group throughout the night. If you're going to stare, baby, at least commit to the performance! It made an already awkward situation feel even more uncomfortable. Honestly, my server Alexis B, was the ONLY reason this experience ended on a positive note. They were so charming and personable that by the end, they felt more like a friend than a server. I'm genuinely going to miss them. The food was good, and that burger was fantastic, but a three-week reservation should not turn into a 40 minute wait with a party of eight standing around wondering when they're going to eat. So unfortunately, I'm leaving with two stars. The food gave me reasons to come back, but the reservation experience and management gave me reasons to stay home. And to my server: you were the star of the night. Protect this person at all costs.

It's a perfect spot for a date night, happy, hour, or a night out with some friends. Their social hour menu is pretty slim, I decided to get a drink from their regular cocktail menu instead. Since we got there a few minutes before 3 my husband asked if he needed to wait to order from the social hour menu. The bartender seemed put off by his question and it left a bad first impression for me. His shift was also ending in 5 minutes and he asked if I wanted to close out my tab.. At that point we had only ordered 1 drink (my drink) since we were waiting for the social hour deals. I decided to transfer my drink to the next staff member since we just sat down. I tried the spicy lychee margarita and I loved it. The balance between spicy and sweet was perfect. We also tried the truffle fries and I really liked them. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Steven was so amazing, down to earth and hilarious which made our night special. Of course we participated in Chicago Restaurant Week. My boyfriend and mom had wedge salad and Caesar salads and filet mignon. I had the lobster bisque and salmon . There was a miscommunication with our dessert selection which Steven made our night again and gave everyone both desserts to go. We love Edward and Steven. The best steakhouse ever. The portion was generous, the lamb was high quality, and the artichoke pesto paired really well with the rich, gamey flavor. The roasted pearl onions were a great addition too.
