Edward is condescending and ignorant. Everyone in this place thinks they are the ONLY KTM dealer available. Their KTM stock is always over priced and the parts guys could not care less. On top of that, I let their service department change out the clutch on my Superduke and they screwed the job up by not tightening the main clutch basket bolt, as well as 'forgetting' the O-Ring that goes inside the basket. What a disaster this place is. No help from them re-repairing it so I cancelled the charge on my credit card just so I would not have to go back to this dump. I went to Cycletown South, Ft. Worth, Bobby is the guys name and he is awesome, purchased two new 350's and I just get Honda of Houston to do my mechanical work now if it is something I cannot handle. They are more than happy to do it - without the attitude as well. Here was the email I wrote to ED - no response of course. """If you want to sell a 10k bike, learn about the bike. If I ask if it has a fan, it is ok to admit if you do not know, not guess "yes" and then upon quick inspection see it does not. If I could leave zero starts I would. Purchased a KTM RC 390 full cash and would always service it here. I took my 2003 yamaha r6 to change the brake pads. I came in the service department section, I was the only person there and stood literally right in front of the service department employees, literally stood there in front of them for about 4 minutes. They were having a nonsense conversation, they didn't even greet me, they just simply ignored me even though I was there right in front of them. After they stopped talking about their nonsense, on guy finally attended me and I told him I needed to change my brake pads since they were already scratching my rotor. Told him I will pay for everything and he refused service because my motorcycle was "leaking oil", mind me that the motorcycle was dirty but they motorcycle has NEVER, I repeat, NEVER leaked oil. I have purchased a Mule and two four wheelers at Wild West over the past 15 years and have taken those vehicles there numerous times for service. I called them this past Saturday to take my 12 yr old (400 hours total engine time) Kawasaki Mule in for service. They told me that if my vehicle was over 10 yrs old, they would not service it. I was appalled and asked if I bought a brand new mule today, would they refuse to service it in 10 years. They said that they would. If they sell me a vehicle, they should service it as long as I own it. When I buy a new Mule, I will not consider them. read more

This shop is where my 2 neighbors (both Sheriff's Deputies) have been purchasing and maintaining their bikes for many years. Since they know the owner, managers, etc., I figured I'd give them a shot. I had a former Escort motorcycle owned by one of the 2 officers, an '08 Honda Goldwing in great shape except for the 135,000 miles. No one would buy it. No one wanted to touch it. Roy, at WWH, was hesitant but offered me a deal. I thought about it while walking around the used bike section. In the corner, dusty and dirty, sat a 2007 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1600. It was Beautiful. In the following days I tried several bikes but wasn't satisfied. I tried the Nomad and loved it. The GM even allowed me to take it out after they usually stop giving test rides as he knew I had a long commute to get there. We decided to work a deal and the next day I had the bike. On top of that, the sales person, Billy Pine, lowered the price by another $200 and I didn't ask him to. I rode off a very happy person. Cue Bad Music-- 150 miles and 3 days into my ownership the bike was leaking oil really bad. I called Billy Pine on Monday (his day off) and let him know. His concern was genuine and he said they would make it right some how. Technically, I bought the bike AS IS NO WARRANTY. They didn't have to do anything. The next morning, Billy Pine called me and said the GM wants to have someone come get the bike as he is concerned for my safety. They trailered the bike back to the shop and dug around until about 2:30. About 5 hours. In the end, a seal had pinched or blown. Not sure, but I thought the bike was over filled with oil which would explain that. The shop replaced the seal, tested the bike and said come get it. I asked Billy how this works figuring I'd be on the hook for several hours of labor plus parts. Billy said come get the bike. We're not going to sell you junk. Um... WOW. From a Dealership? Really? Car Salesmen try their very best to screw you in almost every example I can think of. Billy Pine, Roy, GM, all you guys in Sales that worked with me. I want to say thanks. Really. Thanks. Long story short. I took some wheels in to get new tires and they slipped out of the chuck and scratched the powdercoat off and they came thru with free tire mounting. I used the mishap to take advantage of a powdercoat color change. Also one the technicians had a free wheel to replace the one severely scratched. Definitely came thru. read more

So, I've read a lot of reviews about this place and decided to add mine to the mix. First, I've had a number of contacts with WildWest over about two years. So this review isn't based on a single positive or negative event. I think that everybody can have a bad day. So it wouldn't be fair to say that because I had a negative (or positive) experience once, that is what I would base my opinion on. For me this review is the aggregate of many visits (at least 10 for parts alone) a purchase and a couple of service issues. I've had my motorcycle serviced there (I own five bikes) I have purchased a motorcycle there and I have purchased parts and accessories for motorcycles there. My first comment is on their prices. They are high. Typically one can get away with charging a premium if the service is great, which it is not. One example is on a 2009 Honda rebel which I purchased there for my girlfriend as a gift. I was in a hurry, so he blame clearly lays with me. I paid cash, the bike had a few miles on it. The price was high, but the dealership is near my home, so I though meh, for the convenience. I later discovered that the price I paid for that beginner bike was 1000 dollars over book. OK, I took a pretty big hit, and again, the fault is mine for not doing research and being in a hurry. I thought, ok, I'll beat them up on the next one. The following spring (the bike was ridden, then garaged during winter months). I took the bike out of the garage and had to clean the carb because she left the gas in it. The screws on the carburetor assembly were all stripped. (Keep in mind this was sold as a "New Bike". Later that season she decided that she wanted to upgrade to a bigger bike. I was out of town, she went in to speak to a sales person and was sold on, I think a Harley. She called me to tell me about it. I asked her to send me a picture of her sitting on the bike. Both of her feet were on her tippy toes. The salesman told her not to worry, as long as her feet hit the ground she would be fine. Anyone who would send an admitted amateur out of the shop with a bike that doesn't fit is at best incompetent and at worst a... After returning from the trip I went to the shop with her and spoke to the salesman. I can tell you that he was full of incomplete "Facts" and though he claimed he was a regular rider, I don't believe it. I like to go in and play stupid. Just to see how much BS they try to shovel my way. Without exception the sales staff, did indeed shovel BS. My next interaction revolved around service work on one of my daily riders. A Kawasaki. From first contact, to last the experience was horrible. The bike not repaired properly. I had to take it to another service center in Humble, (which is a really far drive). I've purchase parts which, needed to be ordered. I had to call three times, and apparently it was somehow lost in hustle. The only time my interaction with the parts guys didn't have a hiccup, was when the part was in stock. Even then, it seem that there are really only one or two guys there that understand the inventory system and can pick the correct part on the first try. I could go on. I think I can summarize this review by saying, Wild West reminds me of the shops I use to go to back in the mid 1980's. Hostile and full of people that clearly have some knowledge of motorcycles but overall, they are full of shit. I am sure that their technicians are good people. This is clearly a top down management problem I definitely would not recommend purchasing a bike from these guys. The novice riders won't figure out they have been screwed for some time after they leave and those who have had two or three motorcycles under their belts will immediately be frustrated by the lack of actual knowledge and the willingness to espouse complete and total bullshit in order to make a sale. No matter your riding level do your best to avoid these guys. They will just piss you off. I ride American, Brit and Japanese motorcycles. I go here only because of their proximity. I find that every time I go there, I need to be prepared for combat. I need to understand exactly what I want and what competing prices are out there. I then try to beat them up with that. Sometimes it works, (they negotiate) sometimes it doesn't. I am a 6'5" former Marine. A combat veteran and a 30 year rider and these guys give me anxiety, which is saying something. Even with 300k plus miles under my butt, I don't claim to be expert. I look to my local dealers to support me in my interest of motorcycles. Trust is a big part of that relationship. Getting great service, accurate information and education is a huge part of riding to me. I don't trust these guys. They have proven more often than not that while there are some genuine people there. Overall their commitment is t profit, not riders. read more

They have several bikes but not a ton, they expect you to buy some bikes without test riding them first. We bought our son's KTM from them - really good service, no complaints. Then we needed the clutch repaired. We took the KTM in on August 5th, today is October 5th. I have to keep calling to get updates on the bike, so far I do not have my bike back, and nobody is in a hurry to call me with any information. Not impressed with the service department. Went to this place Saturday about 2pm. I had rode my Anniversary Fat Boy there to purchase a bike I had seen on line. It was a blue harley that was used but in good shape. They wanted 13k and some change. I wslked in and asked the receptionist if I could get someone to help me. She called someone who never came. There were salespeople talking to each other and looked at me several times. I then after 15 mins told her it was ok. I had 17k on me in cash and rode my Fatboy over to another dealer and spent 32k with 17k cash on 2 harleys. I will be putting this place on blast to all the MC clubs out there. Completely dissatisfied with the attitude of the KTM dealer. Edward came across as rude and belittling to us. We had to introduce ourselves to him. We were in the market to purchase a bike that day still making the decision to pay cash or finance. Either way we were going to leave with a bike. He turned us off so much that we left called another dealership and purchased the exact same bike over the phone. Unfortunately for Wild West, they missed out on a sale of a few Honda Side x Sides for our 10,000 acre farm and hunting lodge along with that entry level KTM. read more

DO NOT BUY USED MOTORCYCLES FROM THEM!!!! I bought my motorcycle from them, took it back to them multiple times about issues with oil consumption shortly after purchasing it within the first 150 miles. The "KTM" specialist said that it was normal. They made me buy oil over and over again. After less than about 1000 miles of riding, the engine started blowing white smoke. Took it to a local shop and they said that the motorcycle had a leaking head gasket leak. I asked wild west motoplex service to look at multiple times previously and every time I asked them to look at it they would say it's normal. I am now in the hole 2 grand on repairs. BUYERS BEWARE!!! I spoke to management,but no help there. Take your money some where else if you want a used bike, really bad experience. They are nice when they sell the bike. Then they will act like they don't know you right after. IF YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY, DON'T SPEND IT HERE. I should have written this a long time ago.
