I've been here many times and I keep going for sushi because the entrees are disgusting. I've had a few dishes that tasted like sriracha and more sriracha. They are inconsistent because one day I'll love the dish and the next time it'll taste different and the sauce color is off. The waitresses should be aware of the alcoholic beverages served because apparently it takes two or three servers to take a drink order that comes in a chilled bottle. read more

if i didnt have to rate with a star then i wouldnt even give them a star! first time i went i had the plainest pad thai i have ever had the misfortune of ordering imy whole entire life! and the smell of cooked/burnt fish sauce was not the least bit appetizing!!!! i am asian so i use fish sauce on a daily! sushi is pretty decent. (2nd time) 3rd...i decided to give their stir fry dishes a try...big huge mistake again!!!!! i ordered their scallop in a spicy garlic sauce which consist of too much vinegar!! the spicy garlic sauce was a huge disappoinment. the broccoli and carrots were barely cooked (maybe some ppl prefer it that way, but i dont). omg!!! the scallops were soooooo nasty!!! the first bite the scallop was rubbery on the outside!!! it was sooo plain and cold inside. only flavor that hit my tongue was a squirt of the melted ice from the center of the scallop when i bit into it!!!!! if you are not there for their sushi then be careful what u order!!!!!!!!!! most disappointing restaurant i have ever ever ate at!!!!!! worst!!! and waste of money!!!!! at least they were given chances to redeem themselves and i tried different items! read more

First of all I gave 3 stars because being from NYC, Chinese/Japanese food there is second to none. That being said, today I had spicy shrimp with shrimp fried rice and it was very good. The service was also on point. If I were from anyplace else I would probably have given at least 4 stars. Anyway if you are in NC and are in the mood for Asian cuisine I highly recommend this place. SUSHI!!! It is a must try. I am a sushi lover, who goes and try other sushi restaurant and of course, there are some good ones but never has there been one like Wild Wok. By far, this place is one of my favorite sushi restaurant. Let me ask you this, have you ever question yourself why the food is soooo good? Once you do then you'll know that's some good stuff. I always ask myself why their sushi is soooo delicious every time I eat there. I have tried almost their entire sushi special rolls and trust me on this, they have a lot. They also have a great deal, 50% off any sushi roll everyday from 3-6:30pm for dine in only, if I am not mistaken. Their entrees are range around $10 but its more than enough for one person, possibly good for two. If you sit at the sushi bar, you get a free small appetizer, squid salad if I recall correctly. They also have lunch combo specials and a bar too so it's a good place to chill with lots of space. Almost every single time I am around town, this place will be my choice to go. Love, love, love this place! I went to this place several times 3 years ago, and now that I have moved back, I am thrilled it is still thriving! I got to take my hubz, and show him how great this place is. The drinks are always spot on, well poured, never weak. The staff is moderately friendly, and even when busy relatively quiet. My husband ahd the sushi to start, and he was definitely please with the presentation as well as the quality. I had my fave green curry shrimp. The only thing was there was barely any sauce on it, but the server quickly remedied that and brought a whole bowl over! This restaurant is the one that turned me onto this dish. I tend to rate a restaurant based on the quality fo this dish. I had the steamed dumplings, very delicate, and freshly made to boot. Just over all a great experience, aand a great introduction to one of my fave places for my hubz. I look forward to many more dinners here! By the way, the service was impeccable, very polite, this appears to be an all asian staff, so authentic is for sure! I say this as there is a sign up front, it references another Wild Wok, saying they are not the same. There may be some reviews that are mistakenly for the other. I have always had wonderful service, very friendly staff, and the dining area is always spotlessly clean. The sushi is always fresh, and better than any I know of in the area. Very disappointing. It was a very slow night, not many people there. When we walk in the hostess says "I'll get you in a minute" proceeds to walk around and talk then only acts interested in us once another man gets menus out for us AFTER we waited a few minutes. Apparently she is the owner's daughter so why should she care how she treats customers. The waitress we had couldn't have cared less about us or our food. She literally did the bare minimum. Oh and this was after she stood and took a million selfies. Basically all the staff was on their phone the whole time. It was very unprofessional. All of the poor, low quality staff could have been made up for good food, unfortunately that wasn't the case. The food was mediocre at best. Not worth the price. read more

The sushi is okay but the main dishes were horrible. All they do is put srirachi sauce on all the hot dishes. I love that sauce but not when they mixed it in the dishes. The cooks need to learn how to cook and the waitresses need to learn about good service. read more

Sit at bar for a drink and sushi happy hour. Waited 10 minutes for a beer and for order to be taken. No bartender. Waiter did not know how to pour beer so had to wait on manager. Took 15 minutes to get chicken lettuce wrap and watched sushi sit at end of sushi bar 5 minutes after I had finished beer and wraps. The 50% off Sushi deal is fantastic, and my boyfriend and I take advantage of it whenever possible. Yesterday, however, I decided to try to get a steak stir fry, no rice or noodles, substitute extra vegetables for the noodles...and oh my holy mountains of hell did that cause a fuss. Apparently this cannot be done, at least not without charging extra. I was told by the waitress and the manager that they could leave the rice/noodles out, but no extra vegetables, at least not without an extra charge. After asking why several times and getting no legitimate answer other than I think I had just blown their minds asking for NO RICE OR NOODLES, I agreed to this, and ended up paying $13 for some steak and a measly amount of vegetables in a half-empty bowl because the rice/noodles had been left out. Tremendously frustrating. The thing is, I could have easily ordered one of the meat + steamed vegetables entrees, but they do not offer one with steak on the menu. Lesson learned- go get sushi only at Wild Wok, and unless you want to pay for a good therapy session afterwards, DON'T ask to change anything on the menu (even though the stir fry section even states to "not hesitate to make special requests") and DON'T make an attempt to create a healthy meal for yourself.
