Came for their Saturday women's boxing class and absolutely loved it. The facility is beautiful, the music is great and the coach was excellent. Be prepared to WORK - it is not easy but it's so much fun

I've been training with coach Alex for the past 4 years, and I can confidently say that opening this gym was the natural next step--and it absolutely lives up to expectations. His level of knowledge and skill in combat sports is exceptional, but what really sets him apart is his ability to teach. No matter your experience level, whether you're stepping onto the mats for the first time or you've been training for years, you will learn something valuable in every single session. He breaks things down in a way that actually sticks, and you can see real progress over time. The gym itself has quickly become an awesome place to train. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and genuinely friendly--there's no ego, just people helping each other improve. It's the kind of place where beginners feel comfortable right away, and more experienced athletes can still be challenged and grow. I'm incredibly proud to be part of this community and to train under such a dedicated and talented coach. If you're even thinking about getting into combat sports, this is the place to start.

Coach Alex Roman, known as The Centurion, has been teaching boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and other practices to groups, amateur & professional individuals, and kids for over 25 years. He's had a few locations around Silicon Valley and just built Wildcat's Den on White Oaks Rd located at the Campbell, Los Gatos, Cambrian border. Most recently, he is well known as the boxing coach of the popular KnockOut boxing inspired courses at The Club Los Gatos where members train like a champ with classes that blend authentic boxing skills with strength and conditioning modalities & drills that include a blend of bag work and shadow boxing. A kind and protective soul, coach Alex puts his students health (both physical and mental) first. I found myself going to his classes to learn boxing, but then ended up discovering multiple practices and building a healthy connection linking my body with my mind.

I asked about the program and they didn't have any helpful context to share about it but they told us to just stay and watch. In addition to the disappointment we experienced from the staff, the studio itself was disgustingly dirty. We switched seats because we noticed a layer of grime on the several seats and left early when we saw that it was a dirty studio throughout. I have already visited a few studios during my search and this is one I wouldn't recommend.

Avoid Batata Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu…read more My son (almost 12) has trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu for 4.5 years. We visited simply to evaluate whether this gym would be a good fit. Within minutes, it was clear the kids class was made up almost entirely of much younger, much smaller beginners. That's not a criticism--it's just not an appropriate training environment for an older, experienced kid who needs the right partners to develop safely. I asked if there were other classes or days with a different mix. I was told this was essentially it. So I politely said it wasn't the right fit and thanked them for their time. That should have been the end of the interaction. Instead, Mr. Batata himself--not just a coach, but the owner--became immediately confrontational in tone, stepped into my personal space, and began making assumptions about why we were considering switching gyms, as if we were doing something wrong by even looking. He then launched into how this "isn't just a business," implying I should somehow structure my life around loyalty to a gym--despite the fact that we were there for the first time and simply trying to make the best decision for my son. It was unreasonable and completely out of line. I calmly explained that we take this very seriously and that changing gyms is a big decision. That didn't matter--he dismissed it and continued with an aggressive, condescending tone. As I was leaving with my son, he kept talking at me, and another instructor joined in. At that point, it crossed from uncomfortable into completely unprofessional. No parent should have to walk their child out of a business while being talked at for simply saying "this isn't the right fit." The entire interaction left both me and my son feeling unsettled and, honestly, a bit icky. That's not something I've ever experienced walking into a jiu-jitsu academy before. This wasn't a misunderstanding. This was the owner reacting poorly to a polite "no," and doing so in front of a child. If this is the tone set at the top, it raises serious concerns about the culture and judgment being modeled in that gym. We walked in open-minded. We walked out uncomfortable. There are plenty of gyms that know how to treat people with basic respect. This is not one of them. Avoid

My whole family now trains here, either doing the kids bjj class, adult kickboxing, or adult bjj. The kids instructors are patient and know how the make the classes fun while pushing the kids out of their comfort zone. It's also nice to be able to see my kids doing Jiu-Jitsu at the same day and time I am working out. My kids and I love it and enjoy coming every day from Monday to Thursday.

I was looking for a way to regain my strength and move my body in a way other than weightlifting, and this was it. Jiu jitsu definitely highlights where I need to improve, but the coaches and teammates create such a safe, welcoming environment that I've been able to pace myself perfectly. Being a full-time mom while working from home with our little one, I'm usually mentally and physically exhausted by the time I attend class--but I never regret going and always feel so good afterward. The people here are incredibly easygoing and supportive; they truly listen and care, and you can always feel that. It's not just an amazing workout; it's an empowering community. I especially love the women's self-defense class with Chi. The class is smaller, and I love that things are broken down so clearly. It really helps us understand our bodies and how to utilize our strength and angles effectively. Rob has a no-bullshit, straight-to-the-point personality, and that's exactly my kind of people. We even attended our first boot camp class this past weekend, and he was completely okay with us bringing our son. Having him involved in the things we do means the world to us. This place truly feels like home, and we can't wait for our son to be old enough to sign him up, too!
