We initially hired them for a bathroom remodel, followed by a single-floor bedroom addition and new Trex decking. As the work progressed, we also added several smaller projects, including cutting in and framing a new window, framing an interior hallway door, and building a side gate. Overall, we're very happy with their work. The addition, in particular, turned out beautifully and fits naturally with the rest of the house. Because the projects were completed in phases, the overall timeline was longer than we initially expected, though not necessarily due to Alpha & Omega. Hilder coordinated the projects and was easy to reach, providing clear, daily updates about what to expect. Antonio served as the on-site lead, and he and his crew were friendly, accommodating, and respectful of our space, especially since we were living in the home during construction. We are detail-oriented and made some design changes along the way, and they were flexible and willing to work with our architect on plan and permit updates as needed. Pricing was transparent and reasonable. We would definitely hire them again.

I hired Alpha & Omega to build a gate at the front of our property. I quoted the job out and most-other folks were several multiples higher on the quote, such that, honestly, I questioned Alpha & Omega's ability to do a good job at what they were quoting me. They proved me wrong. They built a big, strong, attractive, heavy gate, wherein the hardware is installed straight and flush, everything is square - it looks and works great. Not the hardest job in the world, but that is the point: they did a relatively straightforward job well and at a reasonable price. Where Alpha and Omega set themselves apart though, for me, is when some issues arose after substantial completion - namely the inability of the gate to stay open with wind and the like because it is so large. When these issues arose, both Hilder, the owner I believe, and Antonio, who did the work primarily, were friendly, persistent and creative in their approach to solving the problem. They offered a warranty on the gate at the time of build, and came out, no questions asked, at least 3-4 times to troubleshoot and implement new solutions. Antonio came out on a Sunday to try to make things right actually. While one could say, or argue, that a 'better' outfit would have done the job right the first time, the reality is that there are very often issues regardless, and I believe you find out a lot about a company based on how they respond to those issues. I can tell that Alpha and Omega is out there doing their thing, trying to build a business. I was disheartened to come here and see they do not have great reviews. Provided you give these guys projects that are appropriate for their skill sets, and you are open to the possibility that there could be some issues to navigate, whether language issues up front, or maybe small issues after the fact to address, you will do fine here. Again, the most important thing is that these are guys who will stand behind their work. Would hire again and would recommend.

We had a great relationship with Able's new owner, Octavio Ortega. Octavio has an engineering background and was be able to explain and problem solve on structural issues (not unexpected, as our house is nearly 100 years old) and a good mind for tracking all of the details that a kitchen remodel requires. I'll admit, I'm good at tracking details too, but I was often pleasantly surprised whenever I learned that something I was concerned had already been taken care of. Octavio was responsive throughout the project. Any time we had a question or concern, Octavio responded immediately and assured us it would be resolved to our satisfaction. I don't think we ever went more than a day without hearing back from him, which was important to us when we were in the midst of the project. I can imagine the worst feeling would be to think you are being ignored when your house is a construction zone. We never felt ignored by Octavio. The lead contractor and assistant on our site did solid work. We were pleased that most aspects of the job were done right the first time. I often work from home, and would frequently hear the lead contractor explaining to the assistant how to do the work correctly. For example, I remember one conversation about how to cut and place the backsplash tile in the corners of the kitchen so that the cuts would be least noticeable. Honestly, our backsplash install is just beautiful. Whenever we raised concerns (e.g. we needed to have some of the trim work redone), the team addressed our concerns quickly. We also appreciated their attention to little details, like adding extra pieces to the corner floor boards to soften those edges for our pets. They were also just a friendly group of people, easy to have in your house day after day. Additionally, our "punch list" of those little items that have to get fixed before the job is completely done were completed in a timely manner and we were not asked to pay the balance on our account until everything was done. Pricing was fair and Octavio communicated clearly with us whenever we had a "change order" that exceeded our allowance for an item. The balance due at the end of our project was not a surprise at all. Obviously, no project is without its hiccups, and there were days when we were frustrated, but in the end, we have a beautiful kitchen and feel good about the experience and the people we worked with. We have asked Octavio about future projects and will absolutely work with him again if given the opportunity. We highly recommend Able Remodeling to others.

The kitchen sink has an exposed electric box under it. Total fire hazard. The ceiling is cracked. The bathroom ceiling is peeling off. The laminate flooring is so sloped you can roll a ball from one end to the other. Due to the slop there is about a 1" gap in one end of the door that has likely cost 100 of dollars in heat to escape. Despite the calls to come finish it has been ignored for YEARS.. luckly no one has died due to a fire. Shame on you!

They also redid our fence and garbage-bin enclosure. The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and communication throughout the project were exceptional. The finished result exceeded our expectations -- this outdoor living space has truly been a blessing for our family. Rain or shine, there's not a day we don't use it. We've hosted countless family game nights and gatherings here, and I'm genuinely grateful for this space every single day. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm taking the time because of what happened recently -- more than four years after the project was completed. We noticed a small leak where the deck cover connects to the house, water was dripping from the soffit boards. Naturally, we were stressed about potential water damage and repairs, but when I reached out to Tim, he responded within minutes and sent his team the very next morning! They inspected the area, found a likely source, sealed it and performed the necessary repairs, then advised us to observe it again when the rain returns and call them if further repairs is needed. This experience speaks volumes about the company's integrity and dedication to their customers. Even years later, they stood behind their work without hesitation. It's rare these days to find honest, hardworking, and caring contractors like Tim and his crew. We are very satisfied customers and highly recommend Sky Mountain Contractors to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship and genuine professionalism. (Photos attached of our project!)
