I attempted to make a reservation for the harbor tour with Captain Dan for my anniversary. When I called I reached a voicemail inbox and began to leave a message, but in the middle of it someone picked up - no greeting or other info, just a very brusque "hello?" Out of simple curiosity I asked if they ever do whale watching trips at other times of year, but was abruptly interrupted by the person shouting, "why doesn't anyone ever look at the website, we don't do that here!!" I was so taken aback that I apologized and hung up. The tour genuinely looks like it would be lovely and I was interested in what Captain Dan would be able to tell us about! But I'm not about to risk continuing to being treated so rudely on a special occasion.

Booking online was super easy, we were sent a confirmation email with a number to call to confirm our tour time. Since the availability of the tour in really dependent on the tide, we did call back a couple weeks ahead to confirm and pay for the tour. Kristin helped us though the process and made it really easy and painless. Captain Dan was super nice. I appreciate all the stories and knowledge he shared about the harbor, who does what in each boat, the surrounding properties, his time in Alaska, and more. Such great conversations. We got pretty lucky because there was a couple boats selling tuna and cleaning fish so there was a lot of sea lions and seals around waiting for fish. We were on an electric boat, so it was really quiet and didn't scare away the marine life and we were able to get up close. We got to see lots of beautiful birds, he had even told us which ones to watch because they dive down and catch fish. And we did see one catch a fish! It was so cool. Such an amazing experience we'd go again the next time we're out in the area. I definitely recommend!

The owners were extremely welcoming and the location is walking distance to sea glass beach and shops/restaurants. The homemade breakfast was delicious! Each morning, there was a huge spread... eggs, hash browns, homemade salsa, bacon, sausage, quiches, breakfast casseroles, apple dumplings (which were to die for), fruit, English muffins and so much more! There's also a cute courtyard/garden area where we enjoyed sitting in the early evenings with a glass of wine. Can't wait to stay here again!

The Atrium is a nice place we stayed in along a long trip up the coast. The Atrium is very homey and relaxed, but Gracie the "Goldie-Poo" made the Atrium fee like home. Gracie is very mellow and carries her teddy-bear around with her everywhere. She is the sweetest dog. Atrium is simple, good lodging and very comfortable. For partial hook up, 10% military discount, the price was around $61, and were able to pay online. We checked in late after the office had closed where they left our site info for us. The grounds are clean, quiet and luckily we had the showers/bathrooms across from us. The showers require quarters, where if $1.25 for a 4 minute shower. Both the bathrooms and showers were well maintained and clean. We checked out in the morning. We definitely recommend and would come back when passing through.

Unfortunately we heard a sound coming from the engine area as we pulled into our site, and it did not sound good. The campground and sites were immaculate. My husband enjoyed looking at all the fencing and swing sets that we found out later Travis had built from the down redwoods on the property. We enjoyed playing corn hole and visiting our neighboring campers. As we started to leave the following morning, the sound was louder. Our friend who was traveling with us is very mechanical. He thought it was the air conditioner compressor. Travis came to the site and agreed with the assessment. Travis knew people in town, but it was Sunday. They allowed us to stay another night. Travis came by in the morning after making calls for us and took our friend to town to get the part. The part had to be ordered, Travis allowed us to stay another night to wait for the part. Travis and our friend Kyle picked up the part and we thought we were set! The two of them put the part on, but they needed another part (a serpentine belt). Of course, the part store said it would be in the following day. Once again, Travis allowed us to stay another night. The following morning Travis and Kyle went to town to get the belt. The two of them worked on it and had us up and running. As we pulled into our next campground in Gold Beach, I received a text. It was Travis wanting to make sure we were ok. We can not say enough positive things about the campground, professionalism and the hospitality. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later. Although the office had closed they had easy instructions for late arrivals. I looked as the paperwork that was left for those not arrived yet to see what spots were previously reserved and found a great one with a view not taken yet. Hookups were easy, grounds were clean, people were friendly and out our back window was a paved walkway along the cliffs with a fantastic view. We only stayed one night but would go back again.
