Our experience with Wilderness Trails and the people who ran the operation was absolutely unforgettable! From start to finish, the whole crew / family / outfit provided an exceptional adventure that really immersed us in the beauty of Wyoming and the Teton Wilderness. We were greeted by the happiest, most well behaved dogs who roamed the entire property and provided nothing but pure joy (shoutout Andrew's dog Biff, Allison's dog Junebug, and Grace's dog Daisy) The guided horseback ride through the back country was nothing short of spectacular. Our guides Thomas and Owen were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe while enjoying the stunning scenery. We felt like real cowboys, crossing creeks and rivers while trotting around on the most beautiful horses (Hondo, Samantha, Kenworth and others) through some of the most scenic trails I have ever been on. We opted for an overnight stay in their cozy canvas tents, and it exceeded all expectations. Allison showed us to our accommodations which she made sure were comfortable and luxurious, allowing us to fully relax and appreciate the tranquility of the wilderness. For those looking for an even deeper wilderness experience, I would highly recommend their multi-day pack trips. They were telling us about these type of trips while sitting around the campfire in the evening after an incredible meal prepared by Chef Jeff (who is an esteemed cook and musician in the outfit). It was truly amazing getting to know and speak with everyone - we made new friends, shared photos and stories with the family who runs the camp all evening while listening to the soothing sounds of the stream that flowed behind the fire pit. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Owen, who is the resident farrier on the property (worth his weight in gold around the outfit). He taught us a lot about shoeing horses and it was awesome to connect with a fellow musician who I will hopefully have the honor of playing/writing with back in Nashville one day! Still cannot get over how friendly everyone was, and how much we all connected in such a short amount of time. Overall, Wilderness Trails and the incredible people who run it offer an exceptional outdoor experience that showcases the best of Wyoming's beauty. Whether you're a seasoned cowboy or a first-time visitor to Jackson Hole, their trips are a must-do. I can't wait to be back someday and stay for much longer! read more

Let me preface by saying I have ridden horses my entire life. Typically it's tough for a horseman to go and enjoy outfitting operations because your mind automatically picks a part the things that are not fab- whether horses or instruction. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Wilderness Trails. My 8 year old daughter and I stayed and rode for a couple days. The staff was knowledgeable and fun, the property and trails were beyond beautiful, the tent was rustic and cool. Perhaps most important other than the staff, the horses were in perfect condition and cared for very well. Horses are notorious for hurting themselves, and there were a couple minor concerns with a couple of the horses on property (totally normal) and I watched the staff knowledgeably and attentively care for them. All of the staff went out of their way to connect with my daughter and I and make it a memorable experience. We drove several hundred miles and I will do it again. Thank you beyond words for a true, authentic WY experience. We'll choose you over and over again. From my 8 year old: Thank you for the experience, I will never forget. I just returned from Cowgirl Camp at Wilderness Trails in Sheffield Creek, Moran, Wyoming, and it was truly one of the most amazing experiences of my life - absolutely a bucket-list trip. From the very first day, the staff and guides created such a welcoming and adventurous environment. Riding horses through Yellowstone and the stunning Bridger Wilderness was unforgettable - the views were breathtaking, and it felt like stepping into another world. One of the highlights was spending the night out under the stars. I'll never forget lying back, seeing the Milky Way stretch across the sky, and realizing just how magical and vast the world is. Beyond the scenery, what made this trip so special were the people I met along the way. The camaraderie, laughter, and shared adventure created connections I'll treasure forever. On top of it all, the food prepared by the camp cooks was delicious - every meal was hearty, flavorful, and added to the overall experience. If you're looking for a trip that combines adventure, beauty, and genuine connection - Cowgirl Camp is it. Our family of two adults and two children (ages 10 and 11) had a wonderful experience with the Bedroll and Breakfast. My husband doesn't ride and was very comfortable reading and hanging out at camp while the kids and I did a 2 hour horseback ride through the mountains. I have ridden all of my life and I can confidently say that these were the safest horses our kids have ever ridden. The horses know their job and are completely calm no matter what. We were in excellent hands with guides Gwen, Melissa, and Allison. After riding, we enjoyed a delicious campfire dinner of stew, rolls, salad, and cobbler. We then retired to a tent with extremely comfortable beds and all bedding provided. We slept so well! We will definitely repeat this adventure! read more

My group and I stayed one night for the "bedroll and breakfast" experience. The team was extremely accommodating, welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Starting with great instructions to get to the site, good communication in the days leading up to our stay, extremely comfortable and warm beds, delicious, hardy, creative appetizers/dinner, and enchanting characters to chat with around the fire. The environment is beautiful and rustic with a variety of happy, well-cared for horses and dogs to spend your time with. FYI you will be using an outhouse during your stay conveniently located near the canvas tents. read more

We were planning a trip with friends who have never ridden horses before. I did a search and found the Wilderness Trails group. I was a little worried would be a boring ride on flat. It was not! We had great guides and amazing sure footed horses. We climbed and descended many hills, with creek crossings. Beautiful countryside in the mountains into Yellowstone and back. Good company with the guides, Robert and Reese as well as the other family that rode with us. We were out 9/8/2021. Colors were changing. Temps were perfect. Our whole family totally enjoyed a great experience on the Bedroll and Breakfast experience. All the staff was very welcoming and provided everything we needed. The ride was great. They made sure the kids knew what to expect on their first ride. We enjoyed everything tremendously. The tent was nice and plenty comfortable. Just know that it is rustic. The food was plentiful and delicious. We would totally recommend this to anyone who wants a great outdoors experience. read more

There was a lack of communication somewhere a long the lines where my girlfriend was supposed to go on the horse ride but overall Ty and Rob were amazing on making sure everything was right!! Found this jewel of a stay and loved it. We spent the afternoon horseback riding. The staff was wonderful and the food cooked over a camp fire was delicious. Then spent the night in a canvas tent. (Prepare for the cold.) Probably the most memorable day of our trip and would like to do this again. read more
