    Such a cozy inside.

My family and I had one of the best dinners yet on our Europe trip. I myself had the special " venison" stew and it was the best stew I've had!!

Highly recommend. Were n Edinburgh for a wedding and had an awesome dinner at Wildfire. Nikita was our host and server and did an amazing job. I got to try haggis for the first time and it was great. The wine and entrees were fantastic. Go there and you will be so happy!!

Local seafood cooked impeccably is what we came for and what we got. The smoked haddock chowder was divine, the mussels some of the best we've ever had. The service was just right, knowledgeable staff with a keen eye. The space is understated and elegant, we only wish we lived closer.

Nice place for a dinner. You can feel the pulse of the town while it is festival month!

    Delightful staff and Venison Casserole

Small, intimate and wonderful. We ordered the chicken with wine sauce, king prawns, tomato/basil soup, goat cheese crostini and venison casserole. Everything was hot and delicious. The staff was delightful. A must go to spot while in Edinburg.

My wife and I came here for our last dinner on a great trip to Edinburgh. It did not disappoint. I had the Cidder Skink soup for an appetizer my wife had a clam and Mussel appetizer, both were flavorful, fresh and tasty. We got steaks for our mains. I had the sirloin, she had the ribeye. They were cooked just how we ordered with a rich herb butter on top. We would've had desert if only we had room!

If you are looking for a restaurant serving traditional Scottish food, Wildfire is the place to go. Situated in Rose Street, Wildfire is right in the centre of the city and it is just around the corner from the main shopping street in Edinburgh, Princes Street, and so it is a convenient place to reach. There is a very homely feel inside with the restaurant, with stone walls, wooden floor and a wooden burner, making it look modern and giving it a relaxed atmosphere. Wildfire's menu offer traditional Scottish dishes such as Aberdeen Angus steaks, mussels and a vast range of seafood dishes. I came here one evening with my parents for dinner and we had a lovely meal. I had the seafood chowder to start, which was absolutely amazing - it wasn't too salty which it can sometimes be, it was perfect. I then had the salmon fillet marinated in cajun spices which full of flavour and tasted really fresh - yum! My dad had the steak which he said was one of the best steaks he had ever tasted, and that is saying something! The prices are on the whole pretty reasonable, with most starters around £6, and main courses about £15 and the steaks priced at about £20. Set lunches are available, which cost £10 for two course which is excellent value. Wildfire is a great restaurant to go to for a real taste of Scottish food.

We started with the soup of the day which was lentil. It was amazing. Full and rich and flavorful. Next the Haggis Wellington which on this trip I have become a fan. This was the best of the trip. Then the Venison tenderloin and wowo. What a hit. A whole lobster fresh and tasty. And before I forget a simple dinner salad with the most delicate and lovely dressing. A hit for anything you desire. Service was a team effort and perfect.

There is an outdoor space that sits on the West Bow bend of Grassmarket, but nothing was set up for that when we were there for a late lunch. Perhaps it's a seasonal thing. All first impressions aside, it turned out to be a very good lunch. We were greeted immediately upon entering. We were fortunate to get a table without a reservation. You will definitely need one here during peak times. The service was warm & friendly. Artur was very helpful in answering all of our questions. The lunch menu is limited, but you can also order from the higher priced dinner menu as well. I was mostly amazed by the fact that you get complimentary oysters delivered to your table. My husband is not a seafood fan, so I was fortunate enough to enjoy both of them. These are large & tasty Pacific oysters grown at a farm in Loch Fyne. Delicious! It was such a great starter. I couldn't pass up the half kilo pot (lunch portion) of steamed mussels. These are Scottish rope-grown mussels. I should have ordered a kilo. They were so addicting. The white wine sauce with shallots was perfect. However, I did have a difficult time deciding which sauce to choose. The whisky with smoked bacon also sounded amazing. If I had to say anything negative, it would be to maybe add more bread to soak up the sauce. I probably could have asked for more, but I didn't. That's on me. I really wanted to return to try the Surf & Turf. We just didn't have enough time to do it all. I would go back in a heartbeat. It ended up being a great find. A great experience!

The meal was outstanding. For a casual dining experience. This is a wonderful option. The haggis was a great version and the mash is lovely. Slightly creamy with the added flavors make it more than basic mash. The bacon and onion was not overpowering and complimented the haggis wonderfully. The lamb was perfect, fell off the bone with a deep rich sauce. The scotch bonnet added flavor without a lot of heat. The broccoli was perfectly steamed and still crispy. Everything was fresh and bright and balanced. We fully loved the entire experience!

The tableside presentation is the thing that sounded fun, but really should just be done in the kitchen, unless a more deft hand can prepare it at the table. Ours was just clumps of sugar and uneven. Service was nice, but it was just not great. Everything took so long! Also, we were asked when we were seated about food allergies and preferences, and we mentioned tomatoes, yet they ended up on our plates. Additionally, upon booking, I mentioned a birthday but zero acknowledgment. That's not a huge deal, but it was noticed. The getting to choose a steak knife was fun, and the ambiance is nice, but I wouldn't go back.

According to the server, Scottish law requires hamburgers to be "cooked through". Believe him. This means well, well done, which basically means your $36 hamburger isn't worth finishing. French fries were hot, thick and crispy, but lacking anything special. Bread was not great. Beef Wellington was nicely presented, but lacking in flavor. Blooming onion and ribeye were good, as were the potato soups.

Sunday Roast: All the standards, but fancy. The really differentiator was the beef, which seem aged and very high quality. Great tender texture and nice gravy to go with it. Though a wee bit small portion of meat. The veggies were cooked very nicely with a lot of freshness and textures, not mushy like some pubs serve. The only weird thing is that the yorkshire pudding seemed to be deep fried. Added an overly crispy texture which as kinda weird; I prefer traditionally baked. Toffee Apple Pudding: More like a bread pudding than a sticky pudding. Filled with great flavor and a few nice baked apples bit on top. Great toffee sauce and ice cream to round it out. Blackberry & Lime Soda: So much better than those highly sugared sodas you get at the store. Definitely tasted the fresh fruit and artisanal methods.
