The owners and staff are the best. They made my purchase memorable. I went in on a Monday to have my wife try on a cowboy hat. They took good car of us. Answered all of questions and talked through the making the right decision on our purchase. We ended up with a Stetson "Gibby" in sage made of rabbit. But I went back two days later to pick up the hat as a surprise for my wife. Then went back the next day to have her get it shaped properly. They shaping and fit was just like getting a tailored suit experience. It wasn't rushed and we talked through all of the possibilities and what made the most sense based on her body and head style. Awful experience every time. I stopped shopping here after my kids were treated poorly several times. Unfortunately my older daughter was in the store with a friend and was spoken to very inappropriately. I came in not knowing much, but both were very helpful. Really like what I ended up purchasing and feel like the price was fair for high quality goods. IDK anything about women's apparel. So whenever I need to buy a gift for my wife, Mom, or whomever, I go here. Susan has saved my butt more times than Trump's legal team have saved his - no joke! She and the two employees I've worked with are crazy intuitive, patient, and easy breezy - cover girl to work with. Not one of my purchases have been exchanged or returned. I'm not rich, definitely not famous, nor am I impressive in any way but, they've treated me like family every time I've walked through their door. A real leather belt should last at least 4 years, especially when only worn 3-4 times!!! BAD, bad workmanship!!! I purchased an Indian style beaded belt four years ago but only wore it 3-4 times because it's unique, not something you'd wear daily. Anyway, it's labeled as "leather" but it's falling apart. Valued at $89 so I'm disappointed on the workmanship and the misinformation of material. I went to see if I could get a store CREDIT and the sales girl said she'd ask the manager. She was a bit rude basically saying the quality may have been my fault!!! Even mentioning I could have got it wet. I was annoyed because as I mentioned I rarely wore the belt and I know how to take care of "designer" belts. I own numerous Kippy western leather belts with Swarovski crystals that I've paid $500 or more. I KNOW how to take care of expensive, designer leather. I haven't heard back from the store manager as of yet. The store carries unique and EXPENSIVE items so I just say, BUYER BEWARE!!! Store doesn't back up their inventory! I've attached pictures! I bought a hat at Tecovas and 20ft away was this place with authentic Stetson hats. I wish I would have seen this first. They have a true custom hat bar and can customize your hat. Kudos to Karen for helping me find the right fit. Excellent customer service. Look forward to seeing Troy to get the crowns adjusted and customized. This review is for Wildfire Mercantile new location at Riverstreet Market Place. If you're looking for that Texas hospitality, warm and welcoming, don't come here. When we walked into the store, the front doors were wide open. No signs said "not open." First encounter was a man who was extremely rude and told us that they're not open and we should leave. I wanted to ask a question and he rudely pointed to the lady in front and told me to ask her. The lady in front answered the question with an attitude. It's sad because before entering Wildfire, we had just visited Tacovas. They were so nice and friendly compared to Wildfire. I like to support small shops, but hard to give business to shops who are so rude. There's a reason why Tecovas is growing like a wildfire and this store will never understand why. read more

A hole woman asked me if I "knew how to put on a bracelet" with a straight face and condescending manner because I just accidentally hit in on my wrist wrong. I just purchased a full price dress; thought it was adorable but when i got it home, I changed my mind...TWO days later, no tags removed!... I was only offered store credit. If you want to shop in a store that employs judgmental and rude employees this is the store for you. We recently took a day trip to SJC and due to the warmer weather my sweet guy suggested we go shopping for a cooler shirt for me to wear. We stumbled upon Wildfire Mercantile. I was excited at first...until we encountered the Karen employee who decided to judge my sweet guy. Apparently she thought he was going to steal something and stayed close to him. My sweet guy who was ignoring her rude behavior had offered to buy me not only a shirt but anything and everything I wanted. However after hearing a snarky comment towards him there was no way this store would get one cent of our money. Maybe if we had rolled up in our BMW, which we do own and head to toe top of the line western wear- she would have faked being nice at least. But we were dressed accordingly for an out of town day trip. She also didn't recognize his military patches to see he served our country for over a decade and is an honored combat veteran. Yes he fought for everyone's freedom, including hers. He would have bought me everything in the store because he is that generous. All the layers of her cowgirl clothing and makeup couldn't hide the ugliness of her heart or attitude. I've shopped at many country, western mercantile stores that employs genuinely sweet, down to earth people and owners, but this store is a joke and not the real thing. And reading other reviews of the same unpleasant behavior we experienced, those reviews made sense. We are excited for our next trip to SJC as we will be going often to visit friends but definitely won't be going to this store. read more
