My first review did not post. Here I go again. My wife got absolutely scammed by Cartez. She went in for a consultation for a perm. Showed the reference photos. He said to grow it out another month and scheduled the perm. She was so excited and he assured her he could achieve what she wanted. Unfortunately, that clearly did not happen. She left and called me in tears too embarrassed to say anything and out $340 for nothing more than a traumatic salon experience. There are no curls whatsoever. The rods used were way too big for her short hair. This is essentially a root lift. Not what she asked for. The cut is shorter and choppier than what she wanted in the back. The rods were all over the place and not in line, causing her hair part to be jagged considering there are no curls to cover it. I called the store and asked to speak with the owner. I keep getting the run around and more excuses I'm not buying. This is unacceptable at any reputable salon which means this clearly isn't one. After several run around calls with the front office coordinator, Cartez graciously offered to fix her hair, but how can we trust him when he couldn't do it the first time and has so many other terrible reviews naming him between here and google. I keep being told Tiffany will call me. That was Thursday. Now it won't be until Tuesday. If I don't hear anything by Tuesday I am coming in person to be dealt with. I'm not being ignored or gaslit. This is wrong, unethical and fucked up to charge someone such an astronomical amount for something they did not ask for and then gaslight them into thinking they know what they are doing. Cartez shamed her for going to a barber shop, rushed because his next client came in, and really took advantage of the pink tax by charging her 88 dollars for a women's cut, while by the looks of other comments a mens is somewhere around 40. Like I said I'm not buying the excuses being told via the middleman, and I don't care to be a Karen when it is warranted. If this isn't resolved I will literally not stop shitting about it online. This salon is fabulous! It is cute and chic and making an appointment was super easy. They post on Instagram when they have openings last minute and you can also make an appointment online. Nikki was my stylist and she exceeded expectations. The salon is clean and adheres to CDC guidelines. They do temperature checks and require face masks. I am obsessed with how great my hair came out and will almost definitely be going back. I recommend them to everyone I know. The only downside of this salon is the parking in the lot can be tight and fills up quick but there is also street parking. Pricing is a little high end but what I am used to. I wish I could give out more stars! I am new to Decatur and decided on a whim to chop off my long hair and go for that badass but scary pixie cut I've always wanted. I'd heard great things about Wildheart, so I called them up, crossed my fingers, and they got me right in with Stephi. Stephi is a fresh face at the salon after relocating, so still building her local clientele, and let me tell you - I could not sing her praises any higher! She sat me down and looked at the Michelle Williams-esque styles I liked while I reassured her I wasn't going to cry when 18 inches of red hair hit the floor - and let her use her creative voodoo to cut and add fun color to create what *she* thought would be an awesome style to suit me. When she finished, my first reaction was to hug the hell out of her - like she was the long lost missing piece to the soul of my hair. It. Was. AWESOME. Can't stop looking at it - and people are stopping and complimenting me without ever knowing I just lost 30lbs off the top of my head. The entire salon was wonderful, from the adorably sweet and stylish girl at the desk, to the owners (with MAD style) piping in and offering positive feedback through the process. I tried this place after seeing it on scoutmob (50% discount!). My stylist was very friendly and explained everything. I think overall I had good customer service. The place is brandnew and decorated pretty well. But i didnt leave happy with my haircut. Initially, my idea was to get the broken tips trimmed, but I changed my mind seeing my stylists hair and wanted something like that.. but it didn't look as good as hers, and it didn't really flatter my face. The good thing about hair is that it grows back, so I will wait some time to get another cut as it became pretty short now (not much else I think can be done)... read more

I found Wild heart in a Google search. I've been back and forth about a shape up for a few months now . I want to grow my hair out. It I also need some shape and style. I messaged them on Yelp! to see if they had any same day appointments. Jessica called me as soon as they opened and booked my appointment. When I walked in, the salon is absolutely beautiful. It's the perfect blend of masculine feminine and rustic chic. Once Jessica got me all checked in we had a change of stylists, but let's be honest at this point I just want someone to make me look good and feel good. I was immediately offered a MUCH NEEDED beverage. They have many options to I clue red and white wine. Tangent: All salons or service industries should do this. Most of us are so stressed on our daily journey that we could use a moment to breathe and have a glass of wine. Plus it takes the stress off the decision making process. I chose some Pinot Grigio. I waited less than 10 minutes on the stylist Jessica. She's a doll. Super friendly, very assuring, and not too chatty. I am . I showed her my style and we got to work. I had a deep conditioning then some layers added. She was very careful to not take too much length off the bottom. Once she was refining the cut, she asked for my opinion a few times. This made me feel so comfortable with saying what I actually felt. Ya know? Far too often we feel intimidated by expert stylists and then don't know how to say it's not quite right? Just meh. Come here knowing you will be spending atleast $150 on hair color alone. They are not very transparent with their prices. People were very friendly but I have noticed a downturn in the quality of work for the past year. Will be going somewhere else in the future. read more

Tiffany came highly recommended by a local mothers group and I was very pleased with my first visit. She matched my highlights beautifully and my cut was just to my liking. The head massage was exceptional as well. I felt right at home in this modern and artfully decorated salon. Very clean and comfortable. My favorite part is the Wildheart poem/mission on the wall. I live down the street from here and after seeing this place on scoutmob, I had to venture in. I made an appointment on the phone and the lady who answered was kind, inviting and respectful. I walked in with my shaggy cut and sat for a few absorbing the ambiance (you can't help buy feel the place has a glow to it) before meeting one of the owners (I forget his name). He was warm and gracious with a big amike and a solid handshake. No one was getting their haircut at the time so it was just him and I. He spoke to me at length about how I wanted my hair to be cut and thoroughly got every detail down. The music was playing and was very nice and soothing. The owner and I chatted throughout and when he asked me where I got my last haircut, I told him the PM school. He said he's been an instructor at all of them. PM, T & Guy, Aveda, name it, he's been there. His experience showed. I distinctly remember I've never had a conversation with a stylist throughout my cut. Conversation with this man was easy and good-natured and most important, relevant and natural. Watching him work, I soon realized this was no ordinary stylist, this was a master at work. Appreciating his work and camraderie, he let me go and warmly invited me to an official opening party they were having that week. I went almost five months without getting a cut. And up until last week, as long as I maintained it, my hair was as beautiful and enamoring as ever. I went back to a different PM school in Buckhead and needless to say, after I showed them a cut that I wanted, they botched it lol. I know its a school and all but they cut it more or less how they thought I should look which os my biggest pet peeve with stylists. I've been looking for a stylist thst can cut my hair and give me an experience that I'm willing to spend the benjamins on for ten years since Golden Scissors closed in Northpoint Mall. As good as it gets! I've always gotten my color done with the same stylist so I was a bit worried to try someone new. Here come the talented Steffi to the rescue. She is extremely sweet and patient and took the time to know what I wanted in terms of color and cut. I have dirty blonde hair and she really brought it back to life. I had a first appointment today. I called to say I would be running 5 minutes late and was thanked for letting them know. I arrived 5 minutes after my appointment and proceeded to wait until almost 30 minutes after my appointment time. When I went the receptionist to let her know I was leaving because of the delay she just said sorry. Then 5 minutes later she called me to tell me that Cartez was ready for me now and I should return to the store. I wish I could have reviewed the actual haircut. Unfortunately the 30 minute delay, without any prior communication about the expected delay means I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

After ending a long-term hair relationship with my previous beloved stylist (amazing but SO expensive and v. limited availability) I've been playing the field, so to speak, and have been to a bunch of salons in the last year in search of an Atlanta salon/stylist to expertly deal with my naturally curly hair. When I saw the Scoutmob for Wildheart, I thought it was worth a shot. Cartez gave me the best haircut I've had in quite a while and a nice color glaze treatment - nothing crazy difficult or life changing, but I left the salon looking and feeling better than I did when I walked in and isn't that all we really want? I appreciated the fair pricing - not inexpensive because these people are trained professionals, but fair (cut and glaze under $100 with the Scoutmob). Other pluses: great location, atmosphere - relaxing, clean and nicely decorated but not at all pretentious, excellent customer service, just the right amount of chit chat (friendly convo without feeling the need to tell my life story), sharing products that work for my tricky hair without aggressive salespersonship. I don't want to speak too soon, but I think I may be ready to settle down a bit, at least enough to book a repeat appointment with Cartez at Wildheart. read more
